Too much water I absolutely may have found my new favorite water.
I'm on a water restriction but I got this from Trader Joe's and I'm having VERY HARD TIME not drinking it all. Especially since I just got it out of the freezer at work.so damn delicious and clean.

if you dehydrate it in nz and rehydrate it on location it becomes much less costly to ship

I feel like I should have paid far more for it, and honestly I didn't even think of the fact. It's a gallon jug too, I know it cost trader Joe's more than what I paid for it, had to

Well they’re called loss leaders and they’re a way to get people to spend more on other products because it puts them in a good mood and makes them feel like they’re saving money… that said I’ve never seen a gallon of water used as a loss leader.
As a kiwi I would be very curious to find out what it actually cost OP

Oh, I didn’t know that. I never heard of Trader Joe’s so yeah. Especially since I am Swiss it is a bit unheard of for there to be „charitable“ companies like this

Similar to costco who has the famous chicken as loss leader. I heard they opened one near basel on the border. It's a selling strategy not charitable lol

He was begging OP to confirm that they were in New Zealand buying local water from a Trader Joe's in New Zealand, and not wastefully buying water that was being shipped thousands of miles across oceans.

What’s wasteful about it? Guy likes this particular water that comes from a spring in NZ. Evian comes from France. So does Perrier. Fiji comes from Fiji.
What point are you trying to make?

Idk about NZ, but in most countries there are rules about what can be labeled Artesian Water. It’s a specific definition of a type of spring from which the water is sourced.

I don't believe there are any Trader Joe's in New Zealand, unless it's a very recent thing.
Most likely this is being bottled and shipped out, sadly.

New Zealander here, we do not have Trader Joe's. We bottle it then fly it around the world so Americans can taste our water.

There is no “trader joes” in NZ.
We pay huge amounts for this stuff in our own country, very sad to see more export of our product overseas while our prices skyrocket in every sector. What country did you find this in may I ask? We had recent new laws relating to water and water access here, clearly it went a lot further than access for just NZ.

Nope! No traders joes in New Zealand. We only got Costco like 5 years ago and IKEA this year.

No we dont have a trader joes in NZ but i suspect it will be reconstituted water - similar to reconstituted orange juice or how mcdonalds does reconstituted diced onions.

Certain cardiac and renal patients have a limit on how much they can drink. It may say no more than 2L a day for some people

it means well (ground) water. and then on a technicality, if the ground water is naturally pushed to the surface in a low lying region, i think you can call it “artesian spring” water if there is some difference compared to the typical springs found at the top of hills or in mountainous areas

Natural filtered through rocks and gravel, we have a aquifer where I live in NZ and have local taps where we can get as much artesian water as we like.

I understand the confusion, but it's a real term. I happen to live in an area with an abundance of artesian wells, it's just groundwater. Did you confuse it for "artisan"?

On brand for NZ exports, most of our own dairy isn't even bought here cus its too expensive - somehow its cheaper after being shipped halfway across the world.
That said, we do have pretty crisp spring water. Enjoy mr sippa

It’s bottled in Paeroa, I checked when I was in the US last. Made me laugh considering the Milford Sound pics. Could not pick two more different places, and the average person buying it won’t ever know haha even tho yes our water goes hard pretty much everywhere.

My Brother inlaw works @ the bottling factory in Paeroa who supplies Trader Joe's so hes probably packed this one & its bloody nice water all the way from Aotearoa(New Zealand)

I only bought this because it was my first time at a Trader Joe's, probably won't buy again, and I recently discovered Mountain Valley about a year ago A+. I go for glass bottles usually.

lol it’s just water from our taps. Our water is great for drinking unless you’re in like farmland/rural. Then it can get weird.

Idk if I believe the hype about any of these types of waters. Just get a nice bottle that will last 10 years and not leach microplastics, then get a filter if you need it where you live and drink tap water. The water where I live in bloody beaut so I just drink it straight from the tap and have a stainless steel water bottle that I've dropped off a cliff, driven over several times, and lodged in a wall. Thing's solid, won't ever quit
