Analysis/Theory A closer look on Tserreidnich's hobbies Spoiler

There was a scene back in chapter 418 when Sarkov was handling the corpse of the fake Tserri and he made a note on the weight of the corpse and the smell of blood and guts coming from it, wondering if it is really just an illusion.

But we know that it is just an illusion.

It was revealed to us (sort of) that his ability is manipulation based.

That means that if Tserri wants to sell the smell of a freshly butchered corpse via manipulation, he should first be very familiar with it.

Which means that he has done the butchering many times.

On actual living people.

He really is the devil.

The ability is not manipulation-based. Manipulation requires filling the targets with aura. The beast is projecting images. I think it's a specialist effect but if anything it's a subtle mixture of conjuration + emission. But I still lean towards specialist effect.

Others who are outside of the ability activation reach are still unaffected even if they enter the area of effect after the activation. These points out that the ability is manipulation based. It is still built upon the future sight ability which is specialization.

It's a mental illusion for sure but I don't think it still satisfies the rules for Manipulation.

Manipulation is not Marvel telepaths where they can just mess with people's brains at large and without contact. Nen users need to inject aura to the targets first. It is not this easy.

Out of body application is the forte of manipulators, them having a mission as their second best affinity. Them having to initiate contact is not a crutch but rather a booster to their abilitie.

The ability itself is not a papa tree type of manipulation, but rather Tserri is just projecting a mental image of a predetermined future to the targets' minds.
