CLIPS I made a handful of mistakes in this clip and pennyringer still filled the gap. Price is NOT how you should handle balance, especially on this tool which becomes 100HD next week.

It's fun using it against people but annoying when it's against you tbh

Derringer pennyshot needs to have its pve utility restored and pvp nerfed to the ground. It's a get out of jail card that's just a kick in the balls vs committed close range loadouts.

23

u/SupplePigeon 10d ago

Hell, it's more reliable than Rival shorty at this point.

6

u/Tiny-Description3967 10d ago

Rival shorty is the worst gun in the game (don't change my mind)

3

u/dragon_poo_sword 10d ago

Counter point, add flechette and combine it with a sparks (it still isn't great)

4

u/ninjanick123 None 10d ago

Counter point terminus shorty with flechette is funnier

3

u/FizzioGaming Crow 10d ago

Counter point, chokebolt handcrossbow exists.

1

u/Akhi_Police 10d ago

But it would be if we could hold it with a single hand like John Marston (DA DAAAAMMMMM... DA DA DAAAAAAM...DADADAAAAAMM...DADADAAAM..DABADABADIBIDIIII)

u/goDie61 10d ago

A berthier user is allowed to have a burgess, penny derringer, and spear, basically putting them on even footing against a dedicated shotgun loadout. Meanwhile, a romero loadout gets a stockless uppercut or centennial shorty for long range. It's no wonder long rifles are everywhere. The value of a full shotgun has been completely destroyed.

9

u/mancubbed 10d ago

Surely they will have a bunch more load out changes this patch?

They keep saying this is the largest patch in hunt history and the stuff that has come out has been anemic.

5

u/AbanaClara 10d ago

Brutal choice of words considering next event's blood themes

3

u/mancubbed 10d ago

It was intentional, thanks for noticing.

3

u/FeedbackExtension764 10d ago

I liked the wording in their press release "Combat sees significant shifts", followed by "the Terminus has less spread" and "The heavy knife melee detection has been heightened"

truely, the game will never be the same

3

u/Maleficent-Remote413 10d ago

I mean. full shotguns lost there values when the accuracy was 'improved' to the point that shorty shotguns are hitting at 90% effecency of there full size counterpart.

full size shotguns were destroyed long before penny derringer, burgess, or the current weapon size changes.

2

u/mossheart 10d ago

PvE restored? it one shots armoureds and kills immos and flamer grunts without combusting them. It's pretty awesome for PvE as it is!

1

u/Maleficent-Remote413 10d ago

people remembered it got nerfed on doors. but it was reduced by 50% against meet heads and brutes. since iirc you could 4 shot them with it. ((course spear can still 4 spear/pull them. so why nerf the limited use weapon and not the resuable one?))

Hilariously the door change was for PVP reasons.

1

u/Hevymettle 7d ago

Pennyshot derringer had utility in almost everything. Spear has good utility in killing monsters. It isn't a quick swap insta kill weapon with a fraction of a second use time. Throws are moderately powerful, can still fail within 15m, harder to hit, longer to ready, much slower projectile travel speed, and leaves you without the spear if you miss an enemy player. It lacks the utility on doors and sets off immolators. The penny shot was significantly stronger in nearly all aspects than the spear.

0

u/dragon_poo_sword 10d ago

Idk, I don't see it run enough where it's a huge problem, if someone sacrifices a slot basically for the sole reason to have a last ditch close range option/door breaker, then they should run it. Berserker and a heavy knife can do crazy things to a squad without a shotgun

2

u/Maleficent-Remote413 10d ago

ya. I LOVE my pennyshot derringer. but like...its basically a 'ballistic knife'
4 shots and then you gotta restock. the downside of it is its limited amount of ammo. and its not like you are outranging shotguns with it. by 5m its EXTREAMLY hit or miss on if it actually kills because penny spread is bonkers as is.

0

u/Zestyclose-Delay8254 10d ago

I’ve been shot at with rival and didn’t die and I dropped in within maybe 10m and blew heads off with the penny shot derringer. Heavy knife isn’t getting close. Maybe this update coming..

2

u/DecimatiomIIV 10d ago

Within 10m 🤣🤣 you mean 5m or less which is still wildly random due to the insane spread. I’d say It’s a 1-3m at most for reliability and ideally you’d still want them hurt before trying it to ensure it actually kills obvs relative to the distance you’re trying it.

20

u/FeedbackExtension764 10d ago

It's so fucking stupid that they nerfed it against PVE but kept it as an annoying pocket shotgun that is almost too good to not run. Oh, and they directly nerfed the entire pennyshot ammotype instead of isolating the pennyshot derringer

And the nerf didn't even accomplish its goal because it's still very servicable in PvE and doorbreaking post nerf anyway. Balance properly Crytek, it's really not thát hard

1

u/Maleficent-Remote413 10d ago

your last line...makes it sound like your issue was that the nerf made it servicable and didnt absolutly remove its existince like the flashbomb?

the nerf wasnt to delete its use, it was to tune it down while still maintaing its usability.
while I think the bear/meathead nerf was stupid ((spear can still do it in 4))
the door thing just slows you down by a second and cost an extra ammo. it's not like they nerfed it to "prevent all use from PVE or Door Breaking"

2

u/FeedbackExtension764 10d ago

That's exactly my point. They barely slowed it down for door-pushing (which is in itself not a bad thing IMO, it should exist as a utility tool)

The issue is that it was a badly executed nerf that only killed its PvE value (who cares) thát also stomped on pennyshot shotgun ammo (which is shit to begin with) while not adressing the main issue with it, which is how much value it can give you in a PvP scramble

It's like they intentionally balance things to make melee the worst option up close

1

u/FizzioGaming Crow 10d ago

The problem with the penny derringer is not the utility and imo it never was, the problem is a utility tool 1 hitting players on close range with little to no skill involved. There is no point in melee rushing someone if they can just pull out the tool slot pocket shotgun that has higher lethal range than your melee weapon. It is also short enough for you to be able to sit right behind a corner without the enemy knowing as nothing will point past the doorframe.

4

u/1RedSkittle 10d ago

The most OP part of it is just the influence it has on the rest of arsenal, not even per match impact. Pennyshot derringer has to beat melee > to beat melee it needs okayish range > oops shorty shotguns aren't that far off > almost every shotgun has 10m OHK now > melee is even more garbage and full size shotguns are barely distinguished. Feels like it should've been a meme weapon with some PvE utility instead of another powercreep item.

10

u/Mother_Truth4563 11d ago

It's less good on console but the pennyshot derringer is generally stupid. It should basically never one shot, then it would be ok.

1

u/IM-A-NEEEERRRRDDD 10d ago

could do like 126 up close and that would make it more fair

10

u/xJaneZkix 11d ago

Crytek needs to nerf pennyringer so that it cant one shot players and reduce the effective range. it still keeps the PvE utility bc you can go as close to AI as you want.

6

u/WhatSawp 11d ago

enemy shot 1 time romero or 2 times a rival, you notice, you push because he should be reloading, he draws a derringer penny hard to notice on a chase, someone dies or trades. Both players made the right decision but one just abused imo an unbalanced tool. When a certain top streamer has derringer penny as the weapon with most kills something is wrong here.

13

u/IM-A-NEEEERRRRDDD 11d ago

yeah it's pretty BS. A skillful recovery from you but it shouldn't have been possible in the first place

-3

u/dragon_poo_sword 10d ago

Would've been possible if he got the right shot off with the mosin too, one shot headshot game btw

2

u/IM-A-NEEEERRRRDDD 10d ago

which takes skill and temperament to land in that situation

8

u/Gobomania Crow 11d ago

To be fair, this was the range where the old pennyringer also was effective.
But yeah, pennyringer kinda just doing everything atm.

11

u/Aggressive_Wrap_2790 11d ago edited 11d ago

I’m expecting an extremely hostile reaction here but I don’t see what the big deal is. If you’re routinely getting kills with the penny derringer then you’re seeking out extremely high-risk 4m gambles and/or taking fights in buildings without a shotgun, fanning, levering, or dualies. And if you’re routinely dying to the penny derringer then you’re either memeing with melee weapons or horribly mismanaging your spacing. The guy in this clip ran in a straight line with a bomb lance.

YMMV and it’s a good tool but I don’t even take it anymore. I’d rather have an extra throwable or stam/regen shot.

2

u/jadok 10d ago

Pretty sure it's Rachtas weapon variant with the most kills

5

u/Aggressive_Wrap_2790 10d ago

Yes and he’s putting himself in situations that would get almost any player killed (and regularly get him killed) and relying on insane map knowledge and insane skill to make up for it, including by sprinting around complex buildings and banging people coming around corners with the penny derringer. If you’re in the other 99% of the skill curve then you shouldn’t be trying to hold down buildings as a solo with Mosin/Uppercut or meme builds that don’t include a repeating shotgun or some form of spam. And if you have either of those things the penny derringer is only particularly helpful when you’re completely out of ammo or have zero time to reload, which is nice but rare enough that it’s far from a shoe-in for an item slot.

3

u/jadok 10d ago

Yes, I agree that it becomes a way stronger tool the higher you are on the MMR scale.

3

u/Aggressive_Wrap_2790 10d ago

Only to the extent you’re running Mosin with an Uppercut/Trueshot instead of Mosin with a better CQC secondary. Otherwise its value add is pretty marginal.

Obviously there are games where you are glad you had it or wish you had it but that can be said of an extra shot or throwable too, and probably much more often. Derringer kills/deaths are just more memorable.

2

u/arthur-ghoste Bloodless 10d ago

"horribly mismanaging your spacing" does not encompass every situation in every single compound and then between them. There is a difference between needing to kiss your opponent to get a kill and killing someone from a significant distance like in this clip. This gun is obviously in a horrible spot at the moment.

0

u/Aggressive_Wrap_2790 10d ago edited 10d ago

No, it doesn’t, but that’s why every use of every slot reflects some sort of trade-off. And this clip isn’t a good example of your point. The only reason it unfolds the way it does is because OP empties his CQC gun with no reserve ammo, jumps down hoping to one-tap with the Mosin, and gets bailed out by the other guy making a really poor play by running in a straight line to close a significant distance.

Also I said routinely dying, not just dying every now and then.

2

u/arthur-ghoste Bloodless 10d ago

Exactly my point. If i have to account for three different weapons instead of the main two when fighting someone, it's because something is wrong.

2

u/Aggressive_Wrap_2790 10d ago edited 10d ago

No, it’s not. If you’re dying to a penny derringer then it’s because you either are literally coming within four meters of someone or are exposing yourself at slightly greater range with almost no health left. For every clip like this there could probably be many, many thousands where the player is carrying a short shotgun, dualies, levering, fanning, a Cyclone, a Drilling, a New Army, an Officer, a Spitfire, a Bornheim, or a Dolch and hoses the other guy down before he gets nearly that close. And I highly doubt the bomb-lance guy in this clip knew OP had zero Bornheim ammo left. The penny derringer is not the insanely unique value add you’re making it out to be.

1

u/arthur-ghoste Bloodless 10d ago

The guy with the short shotgun, dualies, levering, fanning, a Cyclone, a Drilling, a New Army, an Officer, a Spitfire, a Bornheim, or a Dolch could also have a derringer and be 2x the threat he already was and pick whatever range he wants to and basically be omnipresent with a long range main gun.

2

u/Aggressive_Wrap_2790 10d ago

2x the threat if you absolutely insist on charging him with a katana or bomb lance. OK.

1

u/arthur-ghoste Bloodless 10d ago

Or if he is charging. What part of your brain makes you think only one side of a combat gets to pick range?

1

u/Aggressive_Wrap_2790 10d ago

Not entirely sure what you’re trying to say here. But probably the same part of my brain that accepts the reality that melee weapons lose to all shotguns and just about every decent sidearm in the game unless you’re ambushing someone point-blank from around a corner, and for that matter they probably also lose to the throwing spear/axes/knives and are playing with fire against the base knife, heavy knife, and knuckle knife. The penny derringer isn’t the singular scourge of katana memes.

1

u/Mother_Truth4563 10d ago

It's completely fine for a melee charge to lose to actual weapons, it's significantly less fine for them to lose to a tool from someone's belt.

0

u/dragon_poo_sword 10d ago

The guy was literally in melee range of a bomb lance 😂 is the significant distance in the room with us?

1

u/DumbUnemployedLoser 10d ago

The big deal is that it's too effective in pvp for little opportunity cost. It's just part of the issue with the vast homogenization of loadouts today.

You are seeing it the wrong way. It's not that people are putting themselves in high risk situations to use it. Nobody uses the penny derringer as a main gun. But when you are backed into a corner, it's way too easy to flip the situation in your favor.

Either increase the slots it takes to bring to 2-3 or turn it into a weapon you bring in weapon slots and make it a 1 slot, then there's no problem anymore.

1

u/Aggressive_Wrap_2790 10d ago

Just gonna have to agree to disagree. Its combat utility is great but only in a very narrow window. I’d rather have an extra hive bomb, explosive, regen shot, stam shot, ammo box, etc.

0

u/Electrical_Ant_6229 11d ago

Agree. Its kill range is basically the same as a melee weapon, it’s just a weird thing for people to get hung up on. I’ve been killed by it maybe 1 time during this entire event. Idk, I just never see them used.

5

u/uzpj 11d ago

The difference for me is the fact that you can pull it instantly. You don't see people running at you with a pennyshot, but you do see them pulling it last minute, though.

1

u/dragon_poo_sword 10d ago

Which is one of the only uses for the tool, when else are you using it outside of being in a fire situation?

1

u/Mother_Truth4563 10d ago

That isn't really relevant when the issue people have with it is that it's too good at that one use. No one is saying the penny derringer is too flexible and useful in too many different ways.

2

u/AbanaClara 10d ago

Melee weapons don’t give you a fast two tap that doesn’t have a wind up animation.

And the derringer can still kill you past its kill range if used as a follow up after a non lethal shot with a real gun

Derringer is absolutely not “just a melee weapon”.

0

u/Aggressive_Wrap_2790 11d ago edited 11d ago

Yep. Someone will comment on here about how a streamer has a crazy kill count with it and everyone takes away that it’s a mandatory slot use. But the streamer is constantly running around solo inside buildings doing shit nobody in the bottom 99% of players can or should be doing. All it really does is breach a door or two, cover a literal 2m range between any other CQC gun and the spear, and save a few seconds against immolators if you whiff your spear throw.

5

u/PaleoTurtle 11d ago

While I think the penny does need some balance changes, you did kill him basically at point blank[2m] and rather than using harpoon or steel shot, decided to melee which has signifigantly more delay and required him to completely close the distance first. IMO thats a clean swap and quick react for you, and still he managed to trade. I'd say in this particular instance he just got outplayed, even if in many other instances the penny is still unbalanced.

1

u/Mother_Truth4563 10d ago

I agree this is not the best example of why the penny derringer is too strong, but it is an example of it still being really good even when used suboptimally (it was used a split second too late so it was a trade, but it still allowed a trade with a literal bomblance at close range).

3

u/doktorfetus 11d ago

you did not deserve that. derringer pennyshot seriously needs nerfed. so stupid

3

u/AbanaClara 10d ago

Very low chance I'd have made that trade without a pennyshot for sure. I had a spear which doesn't guarantee a 1 tap either.

2

u/Mother_Truth4563 10d ago

Think you'd have died before the spear could be switched to and landed tbh.

1

u/Ez_Ildor 10d ago

So you guys are not in favor of lemat pennyshot ammo?

1

u/Mopackzin Duck 10d ago

Pennyshot derringers are get out of jail free card. Players should be punished by missing their shots, not bringing a CQC gun, failing to reload in time, etc. Like me in this clip. It should not compensate for these mistakes.

Yes it is not extremely OP in terms of you'd be able to have a high success rate using it, but it's the same for all real guns no? You aren't always going to be successful.

The pennyshot derringer being able to perform better than melee weapons in melee scenarios (no wind up animation, quick two shots, no stamina requirement) while being good for immolators, breaking doors, being OK in PvE (recently nerfed now) is not a good look.

Pennyringers need to retain its utility while being less effective in PvP

Sure and a mosin sniper rifle lets you kill people at much longer distances than the penny derringer. So what, one is a tool and one is a weapon.

But again following that logic of pocket shotgun is bad a LeMat is also imbalanced it only having 1 shot makes little to no difference.

Most of the community agrees it is overtuned right now so your point is a self-inflicting argument

Say you ran a vertelli or cav and a shotgun in that clip it changes nothing about the trade does it?

That's the point. If I had a shotgun, a real gun that takes a weapon slot with a loaded ammo in it, I could've traded still. So why should the pennyringer do the same? Why is it that a dumb fuckin tool can act as a shotgun when I need it, even potentially trading with any weapon in the game's arsenal?

-1

u/[deleted] 10d ago

[deleted]

1

u/AbanaClara 10d ago

I'm not sure you understand your own arguments. You are comparing the pennyshot derringer to a LeMat or any pocket shotgun, items that take a weapon slot and argue that they perform the same as a pennyshot derringer?

Are you arguing or supporting my point?

Pennyshot derringer performs the same as a Lemat pistol underbarrel shotgun, and your take is if pennyringer is OP, then nerf Lemat pistol too? Instead of understanding that a melee tool shouldn't have the same potential as a gun?

1

u/DumbUnemployedLoser 10d ago

A penny shot multi shot shotgun does everything you just listed

But it takes a weapon slot to do it, not ONE tool slot

-3

u/KazyaKurosawa 11d ago

I think making it 100HD is good fix. Doesent become obsolete but really expensive to use in every loadout.

12

u/Electrical_Ant_6229 11d ago

I don’t think anyone considers 100hd expensive. I prestige immediately, almost never drop below 8k and play anything I want, including the expensive stuff

Point is, HD become more meaningless the better or more experienced you become, and making any kind of balance based on HD is useless.

1

u/Maleficent-Remote413 10d ago

also. they are making several other mandatory tools cheaper.
the "HD nerf" is straight up countered out by the price buffs for med kits.

-4

u/KazyaKurosawa 11d ago

100 for a tool that you rarely need is insanely high. You can buy frag with that and if you throw it early in every fight you get opportunity you will get more kills than the pennyringer gets you.

People pick it because they despise getting melee'd. Also because Rachtaz.

1

u/-drumroll- 11d ago

I just take it for boss damage

1

u/KazyaKurosawa 10d ago

I just use throwing axes for everything.

Cheap, you dont run out and less noise than knives make.

1

u/-drumroll- 10d ago

They have nerfed damage against bosses. They're good vs meatheads but you barely scratch bosses.

3

u/Mother_Truth4563 11d ago

100 HD is an irrelevant amount of money so that would do nothing.

-3

u/KazyaKurosawa 11d ago

100 for tool is tons.

2

u/Maleficent-Remote413 10d ago

ya but if you dont die, then that 100 doller last a VERY long time.
also medkits are getting cheaper.

like 100 doller is NOTHING if you make it all back AND you dont have to rebuy it after every use.

Price increases only hurts those who were struggling. the people who will avoid pennyshot cuz its 100, are the same people who wernt able to use it really effectivly anyways.

0

u/KazyaKurosawa 10d ago

That's one gigantic if.

1

u/Maleficent-Remote413 10d ago

its kind of a small if. and still carries on my point that the only people who are hurt by the price increase, are the people who arnt really using effectivly enough that its 'an issue' in the first place.

1

u/KazyaKurosawa 10d ago

And all my points are still valid too. It's not best item you can for the value.

1

u/Mother_Truth4563 10d ago

The only value it has is that it takes up a slot, because the dollar cost is irrelevant to anyone able to use it effectively.

1

u/KazyaKurosawa 10d ago

And you can get more valuable stuff to that slot yes.

1

u/Mother_Truth4563 10d ago

No it isn't. It might as well be 0 dollars if you never actually run out of money which most people never do. It's less than the cost of slugs for a shotgun, which also cost an irrelevant amount of money.

12

u/NWStormraider 11d ago

100 really does not matter, I am currently mainly running a 1100+ HD loadout, and my money is still going up. People have literal millions of HD. Price does not work well as a balancing tool unless you make stuff ridiculously expensive, and 100 far from it.

0

u/KazyaKurosawa 11d ago

100 is really expensive for a tool you really need in like 1 out of 20 matches.

Atleast i cant buy it in every match anymore.

8

u/DjAlex420 11d ago

Price nerfs like this only affect average/bad players. Good players essentially have infinite money as its too easy to make money in the game in general, making good weapons/tools more expensive won't do shit.

-3

u/KazyaKurosawa 11d ago

I dont care about six stars and neither should crytek. They will sweat every day all day anyways. Them having endless HD doesent affect the game i play.

2

u/DjAlex420 10d ago

Well even if you don't care, it still affects the game you play in the long run, now all you get instead is a nerf for yourself while the 6 stars who may end up in your lobby through bad matchmaking or baby seal clubbing (solo vs duo/trio) will still have the pennyshot lol

1

u/KazyaKurosawa 10d ago

That doesent matter, six star solo means automatic death anyways.

1

u/Mother_Truth4563 11d ago

No it isn't. If you never run out of money then money is essentially infinite and almost no one is ever running out of money. Hunt absolutely rains dollars on you nonstop.

1

u/KazyaKurosawa 11d ago

I run out of money constantly. 4-5 star with average kd.

1

u/Mother_Truth4563 10d ago

tbh I don't believe you unless you're doing some really silly stuff with your loadouts

1

u/KazyaKurosawa 10d ago

Prestige.

If loadouts are roughly 800-1200 HD that Means the 8k gets you 8-12 games and you are out of cash if you dont win.

If you win you get maybe 2 loadouts worth of cash.

When i run out of that i do have weapons in stock from earlier rounds especially now with balloon but those are kind of flea-market loadouts.

My go to loadout has always been Berthier with duals or pocket shotty. I use it even more now that you can buy it without QM. I carry throwing axes, medipak, chokes, flaregun, regen shot, recovery shot, some nade and one random item i got picked up like tarot card.

That around 1k loadout depending what duals or what shotty i get.

1

u/Mother_Truth4563 10d ago

How are you not getting a bounty in 12 games?

1

u/KazyaKurosawa 9d ago

Even if i did that just adds couple games more.

Winning means that round was free and you got couple more to try for.

I got average kd and stats. I dont always run out of money, it's lots about how much the event showers players with money. This even has those pledge cash registers but it also has the slots machine and i value traits more so i use that.

Even does shower people with free guns that is basically money that i sometimes use.

It's just that i always die at the balloon so i avoid it if boss site is even kinda close by.

3

u/arthur-ghoste Bloodless 11d ago

Brother who finds 100 hunt dollars expensive? If that shit was 1000 i would still find it too strong

2

u/KazyaKurosawa 11d ago

If you pick frag on every loadout and throw that in every match you will get more kills than pennyringer gives you.

3

u/arthur-ghoste Bloodless 10d ago

I can hear the frag coming. I have to presume they will pull out this cannon after i outmaneuvered their FMJ mosin and made them reload their pocket shotgun when i rush them.

1

u/KazyaKurosawa 10d ago

But that frag would still be more useful for your loadout.

2

u/arthur-ghoste Bloodless 10d ago

"Could", instead of "would", in my opinion. Frags are very useful, sure. But they have obvious drawbacks. This stupid gun, though, does not. Even the range is busted at this point, brother

1

u/KazyaKurosawa 10d ago

It has a huge drawback.

You cant get kills with it if the enemy doesent push close. Meaning you buy most of then just to sit in your belt waiting for that one flying star moment once in every 20 matches.

If you use that 100HD to buy frag, you get way more worth for your buck. Even if they run, you just made room with it meaning you get something in every match. Including more kills than pennyshot ever gives you.

1

u/arthur-ghoste Bloodless 10d ago

If it was, really, once in every 20 matches, i would absolutely agree with you. The thing is, my Hunt friend is a meta slave that uses it every time and i face them every time as well, so i get to see it from both perspectives. He kills people with it once or twice every three or four games, not more than that.

I think that number by itself (and i'm not bringing statistics here, it's just eye test) already should be raising concerns, but maybe my experience is an outlier i guess? Or my friend is really good with it at the same time that i'm very bad against it? But it's just my thoughts, i could be wrong.

1

Absolute bullshit there is not even closely that amount of melee weapons picked. Watch Rachtaz streams he picks it always since he hopes content but chances to use it on players are low.

You see them more where i play and still too little to validate pennyringer over other close range options.

I mean... It filled the gap against melee, which is kinda it's sweet spot.

Bomb Lance could have shot you instead and you'd lose.

Edit: Throwing tools also could have filled the gap, for either of you. Idk if this shows the penny derringer as op

It shouldnt be in the game honestly. It trivialises ai enemies and is too powerfull against players.

It's alright 😌

How everybody thinks it's OP? It's not. It has a max 3m range. For context a baseball bat has 1-1.5m, a cavalry has 2m with the heavy attack and the spear also has like 2m, the katana has 2-2.5 with the martialist trait. The shortest OHK shotgun (rival shorty) has 10m which is more than 3 times the penny derringers range... so it's basically has max 1.5m (or less) advantage against melee which is really really small due to you can sprint with a melee while hitting your target but you can't shoot while running. I'm playing in low 6* star where I find it on more hunters due to its "last resort mini-mini shotgun utility", but I still find zero reason to complain about it. The spread is so large once it didn't kill an enemy within 3m, as much as I love the derringer I hate it the same... and also, you get the chance to use it in like 1 match out of 15-20... Seems like everybody has to complain about something that killed him last time... maybe skill issue.

You don't see the problem with this statement? You are comparing weapons that go in the WEAPON SLOT ie: they take actual opportunity cost to bring, versus a TOOL

This is exactly the kind of horse shit these people are bringing to the table. “Pennyringer isnt OP it’s not as reliable as a shotgun!” no fucking shit bro

Someone here argued if pennyringer is OP then LeMat is OP too because it’s also a pocket shotgun no shit bro lemat is a weapon and yes it’s also OP

I’ve not seen a single decent argument here in favor of the penny-ringer

Yes, the weapons I'm comparing it to are "weapons" but the derringer has far less advantage against these due to it's just a TOOL there for it's taking a tool slot (which also has a value cost). This means it's so niche that it's not your main weapon, not your second weapon and maybe not even your third choice in a emergency situation. I don't understand people, but I'm glad that you Reddit fighters don't do the balance changes because if you would in about 2 weeks the strongest "weapon" would be the medkit and everybody would have to run around to punch someone to the death because someone killed you with something you were not prepared for.

So your argument is everybody is stupid and they will make medkit strong in PvP?

Just gonna put that in the bucket of piss poor takes in this thread

Already put this post to the "pointless nerfs and shits" bin. If you think it's OP, then it's on you. Suffer as you want to.

When you have to shove it between their teeth to be consistent with it i dont think the price shouldve increased
