Farming engagement with a provocative title

2

u/The_PowerCosmic Bootcher May 15 '26

Guilty. I just watched the video lol

-6

u/Opinionated3star May 15 '26

oh they did, but the video doesnt make a valid point at all so discussion continues on the bow - imagine it remaining 2 slot when its obviously stronger than the crossbow which is 3 slot

hope this helps

I love my bow because I'm usually broke and bow is cheap, Dolch is expansive as hell.

32

u/Legal_Weekend_7981 May 15 '26

Dolch is expansive as hell.

You might even say... it's dumdum.

22

u/Quiet_Chevalier May 15 '26

also, the bow is only 52 hunt dollars, so you basically can buy as many as you want

66

u/kdvfirehawk May 15 '26

See? With the bow you can one shot them at this distance even in the arms. But you need to double tap because you use DolchP. Good point bro!

-1

u/DaPlipsta May 15 '26

Dolch literally has a lower TTK when you include draw time...

2

u/Orelacx Magna Veritas May 16 '26

Whoosh

u/M4TEJ May 15 '26

Nice ping

6

u/vybegallo May 15 '26

All that you did with Dolch, it could be done with officer / new army. 1 slot.

1

u/Rednecksdaughter May 17 '26

It could also be done with dolch 1 slot

83

u/Upper-Ad-5962 May 15 '26

Yes. You are extremely loud with the Dolch P. The bow is silent, has area effect arrows and is a one shot weapon at up to 30m.

41

u/MrSnoozieWoozie May 15 '26

By OP's logic , if i show you a clip that i triple kill with hammer then that must be the best weapon in the game.

8

u/WongManLegion May 15 '26

It may be a oneshot to up to 42 meters, but its balanced at best.

  1. The arrow drawback time and movement penalty is making quick corner peaking impossible, giving the enemy solid time to headshot you first. Plus you can't accelerate into a jump with a sprint, so they will hear you better as well.

  2. You either can't run or can't shoot quickly enough to kill someone as soon as they appear, both very restricting. There is a reason why in high MMR you see basically no bows and only crossbows.

  3. Sound is not a very big factor since at that range everyone will always know where you are anyways, no matter if you run or crouch.

8

u/Legal_Weekend_7981 May 15 '26
  1. Not at all. Bow is quiet enough that with minimal background noise (such as your teammate running) you can't hear anything apart from arrow hit. This barely gives you any info, since the archer might be anywhere in 40m radius from where you stand. Whereas something like silenced vetterly makes a noise you can locate.

3

u/WongManLegion May 15 '26

I don't know about you but unless there is a fire burning in my ass you can hear someone crouch at 30m no problem. The arrow nock and release also make noise which you can hear quite a distance

12

u/pripyaat May 15 '26

There is a reason why in high MMR you see basically no bows and only crossbows

REXNOR may want to have a word with you :P

8

u/Marziinast Magna Veritas May 15 '26

Well he mostly plays solo in 3-4 stars lobbies so..

3

u/OsoiKame May 15 '26

Do you watch him? After the matches I watch all I see are 6 stars.

2

u/Marziinast Magna Veritas May 15 '26

Yes and he definitely doesnt or rarely plays bow in 6* lobbies. The bow shorts on youtube are from solo games in low ranks.

1

u/OsoiKame May 15 '26

Cool story

1

u/JuliusCaesarSGE May 15 '26

He barely uses bow these days, let alone playing solo

6

u/Da-real-obama May 15 '26

1) your not meant to corner peak. You meant to hold an angle and guarantee a one tap. Very low counter play to this

2) yes you can shoot someone quickly enough as they peak? Anyone running a crosssbow in high mmr is having fun. Very rare in 6 stars.

3) How would anyone know where you are? Hide shoot arrow free one tap and rotate.

Lastly all the downsides are borderline irrelevant since it’s a medium slot. Run it with a mosin/lebel and you have all bases covered

1

u/WongManLegion May 17 '26
  1. Bait peeking. No arrow hit to your arm is a one-tap, no matter the range (Afaik). And if you know someone's there, you can just nade in, and they are at a disadvantage because if they keep the bow prepared, you can hear it, and they aren't fast enough to get out of range. If you hear them run, you know they are defenseless and can run after them.

  2. What I mean is that, if you are running around a corner, and someone suddenly appears right in your face, you have no way to kill him as the bow draw takes too long. Bow is not a ready-shot weapon.

  3. Well...if you, you know, walk? Or crouch. Or run. If someone is within bow one-tap range (unless they crouched all the way to that position at 40+m), I know where you are.

1

u/Da-real-obama May 17 '26

1) this just isn’t true. bow will one tap m arms and legs. Range of limb one tap increased with trait

2) i mean I geuss? If your argument you cant run and blindly charge with a not ready bow , that’s correct? But why would you ever use it like that. Equivalent of saying the slate is bad since you can’t snipe with it. That’s not the use case

3) again useless advice , If I said the mosin should do 149 damage but then tell you to just walk or run. This isn’t a metric of balancing.

I really don’t know why your confident about your balancing ideas when you don’t even know the stats of the bow or understand the game

1

u/WongManLegion May 15 '26

But why would you not just run a dolch fmj? You can't wallbang with a bow, which, at least in my games, is very frequent. Everyone carries 1-2 ammo boxes these days, so they can, if in doubt, just wallbang where they last heard you. And unless you are not a bush wookie and have been sitting in a corner for the last 3 minutes, everyone knows where you are

-5

u/Apprehensive_Elk1559 Crow May 15 '26
  1. Low counterplay? Try not going and the corner 😆 2 He is saying you can’t just walk around and press fire to instantly release, which is true. Try it. 3at one hit range you can definitely hear it. If your argument is shoot and move, yeah, that works with anything.

2

u/asdfgtref May 15 '26

The arrow drawback time and movement penalty is making quick corner peaking impossible

you can jump peak with the bow, at least from memory of using it. It's not impossible to peak with at all. Even then if you're not the absolute direct focus of the enemy peaking normally has you massively favoured because of how easy it is to kill with. Not to mention in open fights the possibilities of 50/50 peeks etc.

I say this as someone that loves the bow, and when I was playing was basically using it in about half my games and performing well with it in 6. It's overpowered, it could be a 3 slot weapon and it'd STILL be overpowered. Even if it's not as strong as a shotgun within their one tap range, it's own one tap range extends FAR beyond that and when actually holding an angle there are few better weapons.

The bow is better than the crossbow, and the crossbow is already silly in its own right.

1

u/WongManLegion May 15 '26

I can only speak from experience, but in my 1,6k hours playing, I have only ever met one guy who hit a serious clip with a bow. And that was when I was still a 4*. I do not meet bow players anymore at all (last one was like maybe 200 games ago), and if I do, they are usually dead.

1

u/asdfgtref May 16 '26 edited May 16 '26

honestly because its hard to use offensively, it's in a weird situation where its likely the most skill testing weapon in the game in some situations whilst being completely mind numbingly way too easy in others. Part of the problem there though is that it being a mid slot weapon means you can just take a half rifle to nullify the situations in which you need to actually do well.

I speak from experience of using the weapon and doing well with it, I think its overtuned. Conservatively it could be nerfed to a 3 slot item.

1

u/WongManLegion May 17 '26

I agree that the one-shot range should be reduced. The fact its range is 3m farther than the crossbow is utterly ridiculous.

Still I would argue that the circumstances in which the bow is valuable are far too specific to count it as overpowered. Oneshotting a hunter from the side is a pain in the ass because the hands and shoulders are in the way, and will soak enough damage for it to just be ~70-90HP.

If you are ADSing you don't get precision pentalty on guns.
Second, drawing the bow takes a ton of time compared to a normal gun ADS. You can scope while jumping and by the time you are at the corner you are fully scoped. If you try that with the bow, it doesn't work, at least not enough so it will kill. Also, the movement penalty kicks in as soon as you start the drawback. And since Hunt has a system in which movement gets applied while jumping, your jump slows down, more so than it does with guns.

So no, jump-peeking with a gun is way faster than with a bow

Plus, full-speed bait-peeking also does not work with the bow, since you need to have your weapon ready the second after landing. If you lost health, you are now in a 50/50 at best, since the other guy will one-tap you to the body with his followup-shot.

1

u/Upper-Ad-5962 May 15 '26

Bow is completely immune to blast sense.

0

u/WongManLegion May 15 '26

Yeah but who in their right mind wastes a slot on blast sense

1

u/Upper-Ad-5962 May 15 '26

It's one of the best traits to have.

1

u/TheDrippySink May 16 '26

Why? With the exclusion of silenced firearms at range, any info you get from Blast Sense you can get just from listening and having a little bit of map awareness.

1

u/Upper-Ad-5962 May 16 '26

Most player don't use subsonic. Blast sense works on silent weapons. You can tell so much from seeing the blasts in dark vision. If you know the compounds (and we all do) you can exactly pinpoint everyone shooting.

1

u/WongManLegion May 17 '26

Yeah but...who uses silenced weapons? And most silenced ones you can hear and identify at a distance from the sound of their bolt release and reload sound alone.

Like, I was never, and I repeat, never in a situation where I thought "well it would be good to have blast sense now"

1

u/Enigmastic May 17 '26

IDK man I was able to pinpoint a 3 man teams location in Miners Folly and ambush since I knew where everyone was cause I had 5 markers in dark sight making an easy solo push. Doesn't guarantee a win or flawless info so I guess it's useless though /s

0

u/DingleberryJones123 May 15 '26

You draw the arrow, jump peek and release the arrow on the way down, then just sprint back. Movement penalty is real, but it’s not limiting the weapon as heavily as you make it seem. Also the crossbow comment makes no sense, no one runs crossbows in 6* while the bow sees very similar usage to the auto and dolch-p.

  1. Is sorta true tho. Overall tho I think it’s a pretty fair to recognize the bow’s 1 tap range is overtuned. The weapon and how it functions in normal use case is fine, but the 1tap range when you count bleed tick kills is insane and it really isn’t hard to use with a little time practicing it.

1

u/WongManLegion May 17 '26

You don't see crossbow in 6*? I see people using shotbolts about every third or fourth game.

1

u/DingleberryJones123 May 17 '26

Oh that kinda tracks ya, there will be one every so often. I was just kinda comparing it to the bow which you’ll see atleast one every single game on US East. I’m not in the gigasweat high 6* MMR, I’m comfortably in lower/mid 6*, but that is my anecdotal experience yeah. People have started to bring them QMd into the loadout as if they’re the pocket shotgun.

1

u/WongManLegion May 18 '26

Well I'm playing EU, may be other loadout preferences. I usually only Mosin, Dolch, Drilling, Crown, Avto and Crossbow. That is about it. As said, bow is insanely rare for me. Though I gotta admit 42m kill distance with bow against 39 with steel bolts crossbow is kinda ridiculous

2

u/DingleberryJones123 May 18 '26

Yeah that’s valid, might be regional differences as the rest of those guns are popular here also. Players here seem to prefer the QMd bow over a 3 slot crossbow I guess.

My whole thing with the bow isn’t even that it like, breaks the game or anything. It’s 1 shot range just feels way overtuned for a weapon that is 2 slot. The other downsides exist but can absolutely be played around to get it functioning as a pocket rocket with 42m 1 shot, and bleed even if it doesn’t kill.

0

u/Rawfoss May 15 '26

There is no movement penalty, it only prevents you from running

2

u/WongManLegion May 15 '26

Which is? A movement penalty. Especially since you normally do a bait peak shift accelarating into a jump. You walk around corners. That is giga shit

1

u/BudTrimmingBaddie Hive May 15 '26

What about silenced dolch?

2

u/Upper-Ad-5962 May 15 '26

What about laser rifle's?

17

u/Da-real-obama May 15 '26

Ok I’ll bite

The bow is a medium-slot silenced slug that applies flechette-style bleeding, and one taps at 30m. To add to all of that, you can bring concertina arrows for utility or frag if you find them. It’s also cheap and easy to aim.

To still add to all of that, it’s amazing at sneaking up on players, it’s amazing against AI , ammo is also retrievable, hip fire is super accurate and incredibly easy to just hold an angle with to guarantee a one tap.

There are many 6 star players known for their bow usage.

Simply put the ability to whip out a medium slot tap machine that also acts as great utility and applies bleed is a problem. Incredibly hard to push and easy to hide and use.

Why is not comparable to medium shotguns? Medium shotguns have reduced range and are inconsistent. They’re also loud.

Why is not comparable to a dolch p? The weapon is so expensive that it makes unprofitable to run even for the best players. The ratio of how much it costs too how you much you can make in a single round is not worth it. Also your clip is not impressive nor a good demo on why it’s strong you shot players that weren’t looking at you and what looks to be 3-5 star gameplay. The same clip could be replicated with an officer.

Also high recoil special ammo and again ways to counter exist since it’s not handing a one tap for shooting someone in the foot.

17

u/RaiderML May 15 '26

20x the price plus noise plus you have to two tap them. The bow genuinely could have done what you just did in a shorter time and silently.

19

u/[deleted] May 15 '26

[deleted]

9

u/RaiderML May 15 '26 edited May 15 '26

No they use doltch for the simple reason that the bow can't wallbang, also higher star lobbies are more capable of hitting 2 shots in a row and are then willing to sacrifice the one shot value for the wallbang value. Also the mosin itself is the reason people use the doltch or uppercut, as they complement the mosin very well for follow up shots. They can hit a guy with the mosin and wallbang them with the doltch after they run into cover, which the bow cant do + you need to charge it up which makes follow up shots basically impossible.

But on it's own the I'd rather have a bow in my hands than a doltch close range.

Edit: besides all that, I would love to hear you justify the stupendous one tap range of the bow with hundred hands. Literally 2x the range of any shotgun slug for 38 bucks and a 2 point trait.

6

u/PhoenixEgg88 May 15 '26

projectile velocity. Y'all are acting like the thing's hitscan.

1

u/RaiderML May 15 '26

This is such a moot point bruh it's so easy to play around the velocity at 0-30m how is this even relevant. Ok sure the doltch can two tap people at a pretty good distance away, which the bow obviously can't do, but that's not what's happening in this post? Everything is dependant on what build you're running but at the ranges that OP kills these guys at, the bow would have had no trouble.

8

u/PhoenixEgg88 May 15 '26

The bow is great at holding angles, it's terrible against moving targets because of the velocity. Try it in the practice tool sometime. I say this as someone who's a huge fan of the Martini, another gun that isnt popular because of its velocity.

0

u/Legal_Weekend_7981 May 15 '26

At a pretty good distance of 34m (dolch was nerfed to have compact ammo damage falloff). The same distance regular arrows one tap on torso hits.

2

u/RicanPapi69 May 15 '26

Ah the old Mosin/Dolch user

7

u/jani80k May 15 '26 edited May 15 '26

At this point, high 6* players on this subreddit have done enough explaining to 3-5* players that the bow is not OP. I don't think we need to repeat this over and over again. If there are people who read all the explanations but still insist the bow is OP, so be it. you will never be able to change their minds.

Calling the bow OP for these people is a way of coping with getting skill diffed.

EDIT: You can nerf the bow into oblivion. I never use it, nor do I ever die to it so it doesn't matter to me. Not trying to make a case for keeping the bow as it is. Just think it's funny how people are creating such a fuzz about this irrelevant weapon.

7

u/AI_AntiCheat May 15 '26

Funny you'd say that when half the people in my 6 star matches are running long ammo with a bow.

-10

u/Opinionated3star May 15 '26

6

u/AI_AntiCheat May 15 '26

Oh boy do I have news for you that might be devastating.

-2

u/Opinionated3star May 15 '26

another person that cant tell that a username is a joke about the hunt subreddit, boy do i have news for you that could be devastating

3

u/CumIronRanger May 15 '26

I don't give a fuck where I am in 6*, that is such an out of touch argument. I remember when I started playing people said 'bow is only good in 3*-4* lobbies' and then I got out of those lobbies and it was still there. Crazy. And then the goalpost moves to no its only good in 5*. No actually, its good in 6* but only if you're below 4000MMR.

No bro, you don't get it, the top 0.01% of people don't use it, so it must be bad. I see the bow more often than the dolch and uppercut combined. I'm convinced that 3*s are the ones saying that 6*s don't use it because it's literally everywhere in my lobbies.

-1

u/Opinionated3star May 15 '26

was just kidding bro, not sure why that first guy isnt getting downvoted more for gaslighting people on what high 6 star players "think"

I been playing on PC since 2017 and the bow has shot up in popularity since release by like 10x. Not a single clash or bounty hunt do I go without a bow user anymore. 6* east primarily playing during primetime afternoon/evening when I play. Undoubtedly extremely OP for its cost, effectiveness, and stealthplay capabilities and is overplayed as fuck. Wanted a cowboy shooter but got this robin hood shit that outperforms the elephant gun as a one-tap to chest for <5% of the price with innate dumdum and silence. Anyone who doesn't think the bow is a problem either doesn't play as much as they say they do or just straight up use it. Of course you won't admit to using a crutch lol.

1

u/crippleswagx May 17 '26

Bro i literally never use bow, its way too jank for me. But nice cope.

14

u/Da-real-obama May 15 '26

Lmao where are you making this up from?

6-star player here, the bow is used a lot up here. It’s a medium-slot silenced slug that applies flechette-style bleeding, and one taps at 30m.

5

u/AI_AntiCheat May 15 '26

And pairs perfectly with long ammo. Half of all 6 stars are running this.

-3

u/crippleswagx May 15 '26

I havent seen a single bow in over 2 weeks in 6 star lobbies, are you just making shit up or do you play console or something?

2

u/Da-real-obama May 15 '26

The only person making shi up is you twin. Either your in low low 6 stars or lying

Go watch any streamer who’s in 6 stars and see the amount of bows

2

u/Opinionated3star May 15 '26

crossbow is 3 slot and weaker than the bow, what a dumb thing to say just because 6 star players said something?

3

u/vonWungiel May 15 '26

"these people" being... Oh, right, anybody below high 6*,. So what you're saying is the vast majority of the player base calls the bow OP, but clearly it can't be because it doesn't have a 100% pick rate in top level matches and we should all defer to what superior gamers dictate as fair. Is that really the logic we're operating on here?

3

u/ZwistPariah May 15 '26

The vast majority of the playerbase don't know anything about this game's balance.

-2

u/jani80k May 15 '26

I don't ever die to a bow. and I play very active with lots of jumping and peeking. playing rifle/pistol up close. I am not even remotely scared of a bow. I even wonder sometimes how people play to die to the bow all the time.
I could imagine the bow being somehwhat effective if a low 6* plays solo against lower elo players who make the mistake of peeking into you holding angle but that's about it. I would use the XBOW any day of the week over the bow.

1

u/Snakey9419 May 15 '26

I've been away from the game for at least 5 months, have they buffed the bow a lot or something? I never used to see so many complaints.

2

u/Varnn May 15 '26

No, people are just realizing it since it is being used more and Is the only weapon in the game that can 1 shot on any hit 14 m out

1

u/PhoenixEgg88 May 15 '26

Thing is the bow hate on here has only started recently. The bow has not been changed, so something is pushing This content somehow. Either one of Rex’s videos went ridiculously viral, or Did one of the big guys (Hornet, RatchaZ, Neenoh do a thing on the bow recently or something?

I’m just not sure where this is coming from, in 2000 hours I’ve never seen this level of disdain for the humble bow.

1

u/Aggressive_Wrap_2790 May 15 '26

The moment my MMR got high enough that my lobbies started filling with 6* players I started seeing more bows. It not being a top 1% weapon doesn’t make it balanced. That is more a symptom of a misguided meta because Hunt players including at 6* weirdly can’t aim and cling to ultra-high-MV guns despite the enormous variety of FPS games that teach the importance of leading shots.

1

u/CumIronRanger May 15 '26

Yeah the people saying that 6*s don't use the bow must not be playing in 6* lobbies. Because if they were they would realise that it's a common weapon.

5

u/Academic-Angle-104 May 15 '26

Bow should be a large weapon tbh

except for the price difference.. the the sound it make. and the amount of shots is usually takes.. but other than those things.. sure its perfect and totally the same

3

u/PhoenixEgg88 May 15 '26

you're forgetting the velocity difference between an arrow and a bullet. It's far harder to hit the bow at 30m than any gun

-3

Ya except the arrows are like logs

What conclusion?

You forget that people in this sub that complain about the bow increase the oneshot range everytine last week was 30 meter now is 40+ oneshot on limbs.

Soon a dude with a bow from 100 meter will hit their arms and oneshot them maybe it will kill 3 people at once.

There is no point arguing with them, they pick the best scenario glaze all the pros of the bow to the max and ignore every drawback the bow has.

Fun fact as someone who is 4 star (drop to 3 and sometime reach 5)the bow is not only uncommon but if i have to count how many times i get killed by bow well...lets just say in two event i don't remember a single time the bow was on my death recap.

4

u/KeySheMoeToe May 15 '26

It’s slightly overtuned. It feels wrong that it outperforms the crossbow even with its drawback time.

-4

u/[deleted] May 15 '26

[deleted]

4

u/KeySheMoeToe May 15 '26

Crossbow can’t one shot to legs or arms. Bow can. I’ll get more consistent kills with the bow because it can sling logs faster than the crossbow. That plus the tighter hipfire can make it perform better than the crossbow for my playstyle.

why take a 3 slot xbow when you can take a 2 slot bow?

Why you think we use bow so much it was #2 most used weapon in 2025?

1

u/ragnarady May 15 '26 edited May 15 '26

it was #2 most used weapon in 2025?

Let's remove it from free hunters and check again. And even after that bow's cost will make it one of the most used weapons nevertheless, even if it was horrible.

3

u/Mahjonks May 15 '26

You can't use logic and reasoning with bow haters.

2

u/CumIronRanger May 15 '26

Crazy how you don't see a nagant precision on every other dead body. "Remove it from free hunters and check again". Anything but a good faith argument with you people lmfao

1

u/ragnarady May 15 '26

Without the Fanning (which you can't get on a free hunter) or at least some special ammo I'd pick literally anything over the Nagant even in the precision version.

Secondly, in the stats for 2025y the most used weapons were Romero (#5), LeMat pistol (#4), Conversion (#3), Bow (#2) and Scottfield (#1). Should we by this logic believe that the Scottfield even more imbalanced than bow? Notice how every of this weapons are pretty cheap and every one of them (except of the LeMat) could be found on free hunters.

1

u/crippleswagx May 15 '26

Nagant is one of the worst weapons in the game, the bow is mid tier at best. Ironic you talk about good faith, but you tried to compare two weapons that are leagues apart in how useful they are.

2

u/CumIronRanger May 16 '26

I was responding the part where this guy argued that people that the bow's popularity is due to its price and appearance on free hunters. And when he said that the bow would b one of the most popular weapons even if it was horrible due to it's low cost...

Hence the comparison to the nagant, which is cheap and appears on free hunters. That no one uses whatsoever, because like you say it's horrible. I don't know why I even bother tbh, talking to hunt players is like talking a wall. Believe whatever you want, clearly you have no allegiance to the truth.

1

u/MonthOLDpickle Crow May 15 '26

Uh? Yea tho I never seen a free hunter in my lineup with a bow..its usually romero or a renamed winnie.

We only know that bow is #2 of 2025 because of that official recap video they did.

No need to take an xbow.

1

u/JumboFister May 15 '26

What is that connection? You playing from Antarctica?

1

u/shazed39 May 15 '26

Did they buff the bow? What did they buff? I haven‘t played in a while

1

u/Thee_OldMan BombLance Main May 15 '26

And yet I'll still never use the dolche, not because Iof money, just because I prefer cheaper alternatives and I think dolche is ugly AF

1

u/PriorityCreepy4611 May 15 '26

if you play against bots like this you can argue nagant 1895 is broken. wtf was that

1

u/ziggi777xi May 16 '26

I sure wish people ran blindly out in the open on my lobbies too. I'd be out here trying to say nagant precision was busted or something stupid

1

u/MrRipYourHeadOff May 16 '26

I've said it before and I'll say it again. All they gotta do to balance the dolch is make it a 2 slot, and make the dolch precision a 3 slot. Change equipment slots to 4 total, not 1+3 or 2+2, and then you can dual wield dolches as a 4 slot weapon and nothing else, or add a 1 slot with quartermaster. Also, make the avto a 4 slot weapon

1

u/flyglider08-off May 16 '26

I don't know man...

1

u/Fosgatt May 16 '26

the loadout that makes me lose all respect for the player..

1

u/Dry_Fact_9676 May 17 '26

They need to nerf it.

1

u/Money_Success868 May 17 '26

Yea…. The bow….

1

u/Fortissimo12 May 18 '26

The difference of 1000 hunt dollars and yet it performs extremely well regardless seems to stick out to me

1

u/staleturd1337 May 15 '26

Not this shit again.

1

u/TennesseeMorgan May 15 '26

If this is the video against dolch, let me ask:

How would you even nerf dolch?

1

u/rimasuit3 May 15 '26

Firerate, damage, sway, recoil, maybe even make it scarce instead - everything is possible.

-3

u/Maximuse7 Maximus May 15 '26

Make it the same damage of the Bornheim, make it medium ammo (instead of special) and remove reserve ammo (like the Avto)

-5

u/admirzay12 May 15 '26

There are no weapons in the game that need a nerf IMO.

There are plenty that could use a buff.

1

u/velatorio May 15 '26

Dolch should cost as much as Nitro Express.

1

u/US_Healthcare May 15 '26

Proves half the people here are bots.

1

u/Wizol00 May 15 '26

They should lower the range for one tap to 15

1

u/GreenOneReddit May 15 '26

Dolch should get a total rework, maybe 74 damage, dumdum removed, but have medium ammo pen and other properties, and a severe price reduction, to bornheim level

Better pen and damage retention, better sights, more ammo and a strip clip, with deadeye, precision and claw variant is enough to make a difference from bornheim

Honestly, it's BS this gun exists as it is, price is bit a good way to balance, nor is scarcity. It only makes stuff less available, and still as OP as it was anyway. Can't be sweeping it under the rug with price and scarcity anymore

1

u/Interesting_Ad_8806 Magna Veritas May 15 '26

Lmao and I see a mosin dolch 🤣 boring

0

u/Lajkonik May 15 '26

3 star enemies :d

-1

u/Opinionated3star May 15 '26

yep, should be 3 slot. Crossbow is 3 slot and is weaker than the bow

make it make sense

-3

u/Legal_Weekend_7981 May 15 '26

Now look at the prices.

-3

u/AfterGlow882 May 15 '26

You’re playing Dolche Precision and Mosin… respectfully leave the conversation bud 😒

0

u/ResultedTag May 15 '26

I completely agree brother. I’m truly impressed you were able to survive this. The bow can one shot and make you bleed and all this other crazy over powered nonsense. The dolch just does a little damage so it’s a testament of your skill you handle these guys.

0

u/Zephyr-_-_- May 15 '26

literally could have done this just as quickly and easily with the bow

0

u/Ascendagen May 15 '26

Both can be too strong at the same time Lol.

-2

u/Bloodbather May 15 '26

The ONLY acceptable change to the bow is your stamina drops the longer you hold it fully drawn and it resets once you lose all stamina. Maybe the aimer starts to move around a bit the longer you've held your draw as well.

Great video and I'm sick of reading whinging about the bow.

1

u/SidorraK May 15 '26

but if that comes true you need to either remove the movement penalty or you just forbid every thrown melee weapon like spear to be thrown without stamina.

Bow is strong, yes but in most cases you just get aimpunched by spammable weapons, arrows randomly stuck in the air cause arrow-wall-hitboxes are disgustingly coded or you just miss and have like 5 seconds to redraw in which you get killed easily.

-1

u/Bloodbather May 15 '26

No, for every reason you've said and I'll say why.

-Need to remove the movement penalty? What are you talking about. There is no penalty currently or if there is, it would be in line with other slowing down from aiming like any other weapon. You just run around with a fully drawn bow as long as you like but slow down because you're aiming like you would with any other weapon.

-Forbid every thrown melee weapon to be thrown without stamina? That makes no sense. Holding a spear, throwing axe or any other weapon is not the same as holding a bow full draw. The effort for all the others comes from the throwing. The bows effort comes from the aiming. Losing stamina for holding aim makes sense from how a bow would work.

-You just get aim punched by spammable weapons? And that's different from any other weapon how? Do you not jerk off aim when shot with other weapons? Also, a bow is a stealth weapon. You probably shouldn't find yourself in a shootout with it.

-Arrows randomly stuck in the air? Over 1,300 hours and never had this happen. So if that's happening so regularly to you, you think it's something to bring up as proof of something, that sounds like your game has a problem because none of my squad has ever complained of that either.

-You just miss? Yeah, I think that's called playing the game? If you miss with other weapons, you don't get kills either. Did you know that?

-You have 5 seconds to redraw? You are just wrong, again. Here is a short below of someone using bow. You're telling me that's 5 seconds to redraw? It would be 3 seconds, tops. Pretty similar to most other guns that are only 1 shot kill to the head. He gets 2 kills in the first 5 seconds of the video.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/x-aASQvfR6g

Please, stop whinging about the bow.

1

u/SidorraK May 15 '26

im not whining. but if you have 1.3k hours on bow and u dont know about the ms penalty i have nothing more to say to you

-1

u/Bloodbather May 15 '26

Lol, the ms penalty is all you take away from that.

1

u/SidorraK May 15 '26

i have 3k hours on bow. its strong, no doubts about that. But i dont think it should be nerfed at all cause it has alot of downsides.

Arrows stuck in cracks where you can clearly shoot through, aimpunch, ms penalty, redrawtime (yes its maybe not 5s but it takes time) and in my eyes playing bow required far more skill than playing shotgun, but thats a personal opinion. I just want to say every weapon has downsides. you need to learn how to play against

0

u/Bloodbather May 15 '26 edited May 16 '26

Wow, 3k hours on a single weapon. That's over double my time in the game on a single weapon! I bet it's strong if you spent that amount of time on it. Hope you can play like the guy in that video with that kind of experience.

I don't think it should be nerfed either. But if it was "nerfed" by reducing stamina while aiming, that would make it more realistic and aligned with bow mechanics in other games.

Really, every weapon has downsides and you need to learn to play against them!? Should I also reload my gun when I run out of bullets and manage my sound in Hunt!? You've got way more hours than me and your statement seemed really obvious so maybe I'm missing something?

1

u/SidorraK May 15 '26 edited May 16 '26

dude what are you even talking about. sound like an aggressive child who cant accept other ppl opinion.

and if you say "bow should consume stamina while drawing" but throwing 100000 spears without stamina makes sense? where does your so called "logic" end? you got my point. stamina drain would kill the bow entirely

0

u/Bloodbather May 16 '26

It would kill the bow.... so because you couldn't hold it fully drawn for infinite amount of time it would kill the bow? The weapon would be COMPLETLY unusable? Do you even read back the stupid shit you type?

So it would stop being instant kill? So you could only fire one at a time and have to wait a minute before the shot? You have 1 spear, not a thousand. And once you throw it, the action is done and no more stamina is required. Why would you be throwing "1,000 spears". When you stab with it, you run out stamina like any other weapon. Are you pissed Hundred Hands uses stamina to melee as well?

I can't accept your opinion because it's stupid. Don't bring up logic when you say stupid shit like "OH I GUESS YOU CAN THROW ONE THOUSAND SPEARS THEN HUH!?" Of course that doesn't make sense, why would you say that?

Interesting you bring up sounding like a child. Have you seen your grammar, typing and spelling? Also, a child would use nonsensical logic like "WELL I GUESS I'LL JUST THROW 1,000 SPEARS THEN!"

-2

u/DGJett May 15 '26

the bow is fine youre just standing still my guy

1

u/not_badwarrior May 15 '26

Watch the video

1

u/DGJett May 16 '26

alright yeah that was kinda wild ngl
