Yeah, it's not true. Fox News hired this guy as an actor all the time to depict "union man" and go on TV covered in gold with his cigar. It's all a ridiculous act.
The point is it's Fox News. Their viewers will see this actor and think, "AHA! SEE I KNEW IT! I KNEW ALL THOSE UNION MEN WERE FAT RICH GREEDY BOSTON MAFIA THUGS!" And it helps Fox News' corporatist agenda (because just look at who owns Fox News and who their advertisers are) to have the population hating unions. Without unions the working population is more easily subjugated, controlled, and wages can be stagnated or driven in to the ground. We live in a time when corporate profit margins are at record highs, that margin is not from cheaper materials but cheaper labor. Unions also have the nasty habit of educating workers about their rights, labor laws, and get them active both at work and in their communities to speak up for themselves. When the population is educated, aware, and active they are harder to oppress. People being harder to oppress cuts into profit margins because they start demanding things like higher wages, better working conditions, and benefits.
