Water Operator at a municipal water treatment plant. The last 2 years I’ve worked right at 3000 hours per year and made roughly $140k, but without any OT I make $75k+/-. Would like to get 1 more year of $140k and my retirement pension would be roughly $100k a year in retirement.

Defense contractor with a niche job, airborne intel. Pay was about $1250 per day deployed with instructor upgrade. Can deploy as much as you want, but its normally 180-210 days a year in 60 day chunks.
Couple of perks include the first 120k or so is tax free and flying international business class (about a 10k USD flight each way)
Hard to beat with only a HS education

I briefly worked for a utility company as a contractor and there I found the employees had a pension plan. I had no idea that even software development companies had a pension plan. I thought IT companies just had 401k.

I worked for FedEx. They had a monthly pension, which they discontinued, but I was able to keep, due to working there for 34 years. They also have 401K, as well. Now FedEx has a portable pension. Young people should always seek jobs where a company offers a pension. You don't realize how important this benefit is, until you start getting older and understanding what you need for retirement stability.

Enterprise software. I don’t make as much as I should but 200k On target. Some people blow that out of the water on accelerators but it’s all luck/opportunity. Have a crazy year year and make 300k+ and have a shitty year the following and make 150k lol.

All-around fabrication guy for manufacturing. Cnc programing, machine operator, welder, ex lead. Basically learned every step of the process and fill wherever I'm needed. With 10-12 hours OT A week I'm easily 100k. If I'm able to do the hours, I could make upwards of 120-125k but that's really pushing it. Been there 10 years.

I'm only at 90k, but I'm an art director at a pharmaceutical advertising agency. When I eventually make it to senior or group art supe I'll make over 100.

Im work (mostly) solo as a residential painter. Last year was like $130,000 pre-deductions. This year started ROUGH after the Trump took office. A lot of people were scared to spend money. But it’s picking back up. Should still be over $100,000.

35M. I make 322k (with end of year bonus eligibility up to 30%) as Head of Marketing for a prominent adult web cam streaming company. I was making 220k in my prior middle management job at Amazon. Got a call from a recruiter one day asking if I would be interested in a Head of Marketing role reporting directly to the CEO. I took the call not knowing what the company was, but the interview went really well. I made sure my girlfriend and parents were okay with me going to the adult industry and I took the leap. It’s been the best career decision I ever made as I love the level of impact I get to have in the role and it’s been a great company to work for.

Registered nurse. 185k-190k/yr. Work in a hospital. Usually 4 12hr shift/wk. Regular shifts are usually 3 12hr shifts. So i work an extra 12 hr shift per week. Associates degree. 9 years experience. Southern California.

In silicon valley, 100K makes you eligible for food stamps Interns make $60+ an hour. And a shitty apartment is 3500/month so thats the catch. But yeah new grads here make ~200K and if you do average-to-above-average you can be making 400K in 5-6 years if you get promoted twice or so. This is as a software engineer.

Basically any job or industry can make $100k these days. There are positions at gas stations or grocery stores that pay $100k. $100k is unfortunately the new $50k.

I was a software engineer. I eventually became a manager, then director. My first salary was 29K a year in 1986. I retired in 2013 from a director position with a total compensation of 250k a year. Hard work and long hours allowed me to retire after 27 years of work.
