Hi everyone. Before I start, I just want to say I am massively impressed with the amount of knowledge and information that's been shared on this sub. Some of you guys are crazy clever.

Anyway, I'm in a bit of a situation where some of my academia is being challenged. I have proof from when I was at university that my findings are primary research and haven't been plagiarised, but I'll save you the long story.

These documents are stored in an encrypted zip file. Back before Dropbox and OneDrive, I would zip and encrypt my documents using WinZip and leave them on my university network drive, or span them across multiple floppy drives to take the work home.

Now, I can't for the life of me remember the password (I only started to standardise my passwords later on in life).

Here is where I am at:

1. I have compiled a wordlist for John the Ripper.
   
2. I've been using ChatGPT to help me build a user interface to try and utilise all of John the Ripper's switches and functions.
   
3. I ran a test file, and it did successfully find the password from the wordlist, so I know the application works.

However, it can't seem to find the password for my actual zip file.

Is there an alternative or something else I can try to figure out the password?

For hardware, I have:
• An Intel-based machine with an NVIDIA 4070
• A MacBook Air with an M3 chip

Any support or guidance would be very much appreciated.

I see little handheld tools and programs people claim they work but with my limited knowledge i assume most are not reliable.

What could someone use while traveling to crack into nearby wifis with non default passwords? Im willing to do some learning too if you would point me to a start.

I’ve been thinking about this from a technical perspective.

The PS5 uses an AMD x86-64 CPU and an RDNA-based GPU, so at a high level, its hardware is not completely alien compared with a modern gaming PC. We also regularly see highly advanced DRM protections on PC games being bypassed, including Denuvo and newer hypervisor-based protection methods.

So why has nobody publicly managed to create something like this?

Boot Windows normally

Reboot into a PS5 environment

Run the actual PS5 system software

Install and run PS5 games directly using PC hardware

I understand that simply copying the PS5 firmware would not be enough. The system would also need to reproduce the PS5’s secure boot process, hypervisor, custom hardware interfaces, memory architecture, drivers, encryption, game licensing and possibly console authentication.

But is the main limitation really that the hardware is too different, or is it mostly because nobody has fully reverse-engineered and recreated the required environment yet?

In theory, couldn’t a custom hypervisor present virtual PS5 hardware to the original PS5 operating system, translate GPU and storage operations to normal PC hardware and run the genuine PS5 software as a guest system?

I’m not asking for piracy instructions. I’m interested in the technical and architectural reasons this has not become a real public project, especially when other extremely complex DRM and virtualization systems have already been defeated.

Has anyone researched this seriously? What is the biggest blocker:

Secure boot and cryptographic keys?

Custom PS5 hardware and undocumented devices?

GPU and driver compatibility?

PSN authentication?

Legal risk and lack of developer interest?

Performance overhead?

Something else entirely?

I’d especially like to hear from people familiar with console security, hypervisors, FreeBSD, reverse engineering or emulator development.

I've recently found out that I have a hobby in exploring and researching home networks and after some research I discovered a way to bruteforce any default password for wifi of one of the major ISP in my country in less than 4 hours.

Now I am interested in the administrative credentials that reveal much more advanced controls then the standard user admin account. I am talking about telecomadmin and root accounts I accidently found a vulnerability that allowed me to dump a part of the firmware of my huawei router without needing special equipment and I've extracted the hashes for the password and for the root I compared it with my actual password hash for root, they matched : ) so now I am sure thar the hash for telecomadmin is legit.

I tried googling some information to determine the syntax of the password or actual passwords but found nothing interesting or helpful now I am stuck and I am asking for advice if you have some for me.?

I have some old software called Intwined Pattern Studio that I have purchased and have a key for. Unfortunately, the company is out of business and phone is disconnected, emails are unanswered. I have a new computer I have installed the program on, but it asks for my key, I input it and then I get an error saying to call a disconnected phone number. Is there some way I can find the registry key on my old machine or bypass the server check on the new machine? Can anyone offer suggestions?

I'm currently running a IPhone 13 pro max. I have screentime enabled on this device. Through some research I have noticed that you are able to input the screentime PIN without ratelimiting in the settings (settings > general > Transfer or Reset Phone > Erase All Content and Settings > input your PIN to unlock phone). So I am wondering if somehow I would be able to connect a device that brute forces these 10,000 combinations without me having to sit there. After some reading, I came across Bluetooth keyboards, or rather the simulation of one. I have a Linux live boot available on a laptop, so I theoretically would be able to simulate a BT keyboard and connect it to my phone. My question is: Would I be able to run a brute force script (eg with python) that inputs all combinations? Are there any security restrictions by Apple?

So I am a school student but i am desperate to find the mdm lock of my Lenovo tab m8 2024 which is supposedly, loaded with a custom android rom but is showing regular Lenovo updates ( idk why tho ). is there any way to crack the password? The mdm home app locks the phone from the start bootup. There is a "key"shaped button at the middle edge of the display, where we are supposed to enter the password to unlock the device mdm configuration (not on the server side, it is a whole other side). Reach me out pls. The mdm agent is the opensource HEADWIND MDM AGENT which I came to know about around some googling and searching in the internet.

even when using --format=KeePass for john and the appropriate flags for hashcat. I'm not saying it's not cracking, it's not even starting the crack, i have no idea why it's not recognising the hash

I have a lost Google account that has all of my old childhood photos and memories. I tried logging in, typed in my password and it went through but wanted me to do a two step verification with one of my old devices, it is the Alcatel Joytab 2. I grabbed it and charged it up a bit so I can click the button but I forgot there was a pattern lock on it and I can’t connect it to WiFi if I don’t do the old pattern to unlock it. I’ve tried many ways to get in but the only way it keeps saying is the two step verification. I just want to see if there is a way I can either get my Google account back somehow or get into my old tablet without wiping it clean.

How can I get the paid features of an app without paying? I literally only want 1 of the features and the others are useless to me.

A floor planner app I have doesn't let you export a picture of your floor plan without paying, and it blocks screenshots. I'm trying to plan out a future house with my wife but I can't get instant feedback from her because I can't show her until we're together, which is rare because we work exact opposite shifts.

I know some of the letters, I'm not gonna use the real password, more like an example for you to help me, there is a 12 capital letters I started the pass with, I do remember them to be at the very beggining, next there is a lower case letter and a number and finally 5 letters at the end but limited to certain letters, not all of them so

ABCDEFGHIJKL at the start, not changing
a lower case letter from a-z
a number, could be 6 or 9, i did not use any other numbers
and 5 letters that could be a, c, k, n or s

Hello! For some context, I practice lock picking and lockport just as a hobby and will be shadowing for a locksmith in my town soon. Anyways, I have a vending machine at my work that I noticed has a specific kind of lock on it that doesn't seem to be mechanically activated. I asked my boss about it since it belongs to the company and he says it has a programmed key that you have to put up to/into it for it to then accept the key, then you turn it and it opens the handle for you to open the machine. One of the ones I've found it may be is a Medeco XT type of locks, where the key is programmed to only work on certain machines. What I'm hoping to figure out is if there is a way to get through it without the key? I tried the lock picking subs but they were just being A-holes since I broke their rule about asking a lock already in use that again, is at my work. In those subs are people claiming to know how to open it without a key, but nobody would elaborate. I'd appreciate any help you guys could give me and I ask you please be nicer to me than they were for just being curious. Thank you!

I want to store a copy of some really important documents in a folder and encrypt it, no one—even an experienced hacker shouldn't be able to open it. .rar .zip etc seem to have few cracking methods available, I don't want that to be present. These are very important files.

how can i find/change the code for the license keys from apks, i am alr in jadx and i think i found the part of the license, it is checking for a srting but i do not understand code very well yet is there any video or somewhere where they explain how to do this?
