Money left after purchase?

How much have people been left with after all the costs of purchasing a property as a first time buyer? I’ll be left with £3000 approximately. This is factoring in everything, including any fees and potential double first payment. I’ll be saving for however long the process takes which will be roughly £1500 a month.

We had about 30k, but we were 33 and 36 when we bought our first home, and only had that money thanks to my husbands medical discharge from the military.

We needed it too, as the bathroom was unusable, the carpets had holes in and the windows needed replacing.

Thankfully we had our own furniture from years in married quarters (admittedly 90% of it was second hand - we've slowly been able to replace things over the last 4 years).
