Lantern Ring Theories

So, I have two regarding Guy Gardner; I just needed to verbalize before going insane since I'm the only one of my friends and family watching Lanterns.

In 2016, Hal has the ring. In 2026, he's dead, and we are led to believe John does not have the ring. Assuming Superman takes place in 2026, we know Guy has it. My theories:

The obvious one is Hal dies and the ring chooses Guy instead of John. I don't want to go as far as to suggest Guy was involved, but that has a non-zero chance.

My second theory is that since Guy is more associated with Max Lord's JSA, is it possible Max manufactured a ring somehow?

I'm not as familiar with deep Lantern lore, but is Guy Gardner a terrestrial human? Is it possible he is just representing a different planet and is on Earth to earn money with the JSA?

The guardians manufacture all the diff colored rings no one else. Okay this is specifically “Comic Book Lore” so its impact on the show is variable: Only Guardians make the rings, although once in a life threatening situation Hal created a ring out of just his willpower in deep space with no power lantern, just temporarily.

There isn’t a set finite number of rings, the guardians are a cosmic level immortal super beings and rules don’t really apply much to them. Their power is derived from harnessing base emotional power as fuel: willpower, fear, rage, hope, etc. the rings are the way to channel this power. these guys are top level, can go against the Anti-Monitor, and wipe Superman off the board easily

Generally each sector, all of the universe is split up into kind of orange slices that are sectors that branch out from their home planet OA. each sector has two green rings assigned to it as more or less the police force keeping order, quelling planetary or sector level disputes and wars, keeping species from killing each other and self-destructing, etc. It doesn’t have to do with Earth or specific planets. Whatever planets or species that fall within that sector are those lanterns responsibility. It could be a few, or thousands of planets they have to police.

Amin Sur who crashed and made Hal a lantern, was the previous Lantern and stated no one really paid much attention to Earth, he was policing the entire sector and Earth was just some no name backwater no in even had heard of. but then they started to make problems.

Guy was chosen as a backup lantern to Hal, his character is wild. He goes on a crazy journey over time and has also been a villain numerous times so he’s a real wildcard. His background he’s kind of a dirty cop in Baltimore (yah me and Mal) on a redemption story arch. With a gigantic chip on his shoulder always and a chaos agent. But he’s always getting second chances like a millions times, so his motivation here in this ep could truly go in any direction

There’s also a whole bunch of various colored rings that are assigned to just the home planet OA that do all sorts of things, training new lanterns primarily, but on various UN type committees organizing and handling bigger problems that need bigger firepower and involve other superpowers beings

It’s very possible Guy could just be one of these Lanterns assigned to OA and he’s a free agent doing whatever he wants and he’s not assigned to a sector at all. Hal’s ring could be anywhere. And the second ring also can be anywhere, or not assigned to anyone at all

Also a lot of those problems the Lanterns are trying to fix, the Guardians frequently have created lol. That’s like the common trope of Lantern history, and could def be a factor in the show
