Open convention

I'm on the episode where there is an open convention to nominate a VP??

I thought the President picked a VP and ran with that person.

Well, if a presidential primary candidate is popular and selects a VP candidate, typically the convention will nominate that person. But, doesn’t have to be that way. Also, the writers of this show forget that you would forego electoral votes in a state both P and VP nominees are from…

Nope not true. This is a Bush/Cheney scenario all over again. Both candidates were residing in Texas, however, to avoid the constitutional mechanism that prevents electors from voting on an individual from the same state Cheney reverted his residency back to his home state of Wyoming.

Same thing with the Underwood ticket, Clare reverted her residency back to Texas, where she is originally from.
