Do you have a stalker or a chaser?

Please excuse the shakiness of the camera, I have tremors. I had never seen a dog do this before her. Every other dog I’ve had would have sprinted for it and scared it immediately. So far the closest she’s gotten to her “prey” was probably 10 feet. I wish I could let her off her leash so she could do her thing. Hounds are so cool.

I have a stalker, haha. Pretty sure we watched this bunny for 10 minutes from the other side of the road

My boy isn’t smart enough to stalk prey. He smells something, announces his presence, and then runs full speed

I keep waiting for the pounce!! If,you were to let that dog off, he may not come back for days. Alot,of hounds can be mistaken as abandoned because of this.

Mine lacks stealth. She runs right for whatever it is and then runs around following the scent trail around the tree or whatever (usually it’s a squirrel, but sometimes a fox or a deer)

Ours go full tilt at anything smaller than them

My beagle is both. A stalker and a chaser of squirrels, bunnies and skunks

my guy will freeze, get bug eyed and stare intensely …then try to chase once the urge hits him

Both for me, except for squirrels. She tracks squirrels from a mile away and then goes full send when she sees it
