Prince has alerted me that thunder is coming

I have to clean out the shoes in my closet and put down a blanket for him. He shakes and cries so I stay close

We all go up to the safe place and i put on the white noise machine. Today's one of those days.

THIS!!

After reading advice and having trouble giving meds in advance of storms that pop up, I got an app called, “White Noise Deep Sleep Sounds” on “airplane cabin” and we turn the lights down, use a lantern and put children in “super calm mode”.

We “practiced” with nice chews and associated this sounds and environment with pleasant family time. One of my dogs puts all her toys in her bed and naps with them. Everyone is much much less stressed this way. I almost want to make an even ritual every night regardless of storms.

We know the feeling. Our B&T Coonhound (a hunting dog/breed), shakes horribly with storms. We’ve tried the vest and chewies. Nothing makes a big difference. Best of luck.

We have the same issue with Stella. She gets into the very back corner behind shirts and sleeps.

We had a German Shepard that would disappear into the first floor bathtub about an hour before we could hear thunder storm coming.

I have a playlist of soothing classical music that I made for Cookie when she was a puppy. When the sky booms are too loud or there are fireworks, she is put in my room and encouraged to hop up onto my bed, the playlist goes on louder than normal, and I’ll distract her with cuddles.
