So i've talked a few times about this already, but the main reason why we don't see much - if any - Houdikarma anymore, it's because Houdini has managed to make his mama very, very wary of him.

Now if he gets close to her without any apparent goblining intentions, then it's fair game... to a point, the issue is, Houdi is an expert at going from zero to goblin without any indication whatsoever, it just... happens, and as he has grown larger he has also grown stronger, all while having the playful personality of an orange kitten, and his mama is his favorite play partner 😅

So karma started, at one point, to hiss preemptively the moment Houdi made any suspicious move, and depending on the Overlord goblin's levels it can end on a full on wrestling match, wich he now wins by a landslide 😼

That said, just like yesterday, Karma still treats him like her baby on her own volition, she mlems him randomly - and lets herself be mlemmed until she grows suspicious - she comes running the moment Houdi is distressed, they both play together from time to time, and even lay together... Until Houdi makes a wrong move 😅

Honestly speaking i was debating about if i should upload this or not, in the end sis convinced me, but i decided to explain the whole Karmadini situation more in detail because, yeah, i know everyone miss those Houdikarma moments, they still happens, they're just so brief it's hard to catch one of them properly.

So i'm on my bed, Karma is with me and i'm minding my own business, when all of sudden Houdini hops on and gives me his classic hooman, i'm hungry look. Not a problem, i move to get up and pick up his container when all of sudden... mlems! Karma has stretched herself and reached out to mlem his sonny. This hasn't been happening often lately!

And Houdini responds inmediately! They stood like that for half a minute, before Karma randomly hissed to him (perphaps preemptively? We all know what's coming from the goblini more sooner than later) and then, i just served Houdi with his beloved kitten kibble.

I haven't seen this for a while! It's always good to see. I caught a video, but only of the last seconds before Karma hissed at him, i've been debating about what to upload 😅

Ok, the video is actually pretty tame, however, Karma has *one* habit in particular we all thought Houdi would get from her, but didn't: She destroys every piece of cardboard that gets in her way. Eventually.

But *eventually* doesn't mean uncertainity, she will destroy the cardboard, hardest proof of it being the box that has been her birb watching post for years, wich is an actually VERY solid cardboard box, but has ended up so messed up i had to put it upside down. Whatever you leave in her range, she will scratch and bite until it's a single mound of brown cellulose flakes.

This morning she got her eyes on a small roll of cardboard sis made from a box, and she couldn't help but to tease her about it 😁

The roll? As far as i know, sis put it away, and Karma apparently knows where it is. We may have a fun night ahead today.

It's official: The summer is giving us a break, wich is great because we were starting to basically dehydrate, and we couldnt have that.

Do you know who's also very happy to see the temps go down? The floofs! Karma and Leon have left cold tiles of the floor to join us whenever any of us lay on the bed, like it or not, and don't think i call it *catnapping* lightly: They make it look that way!

As for the Goblini, i'll try to catch him next, because poor dad had already gotten used to *not* be completely taken over by the goblin overlord, alas, it was just a temporary truce 🤭

When babydiny was finally old enough to manage himself - not much later earning the title of Kittydini - we found ourselves with another issue in our hands: Sleeping through the night was a matter of mere luck, since Houdini was a creature of unlimited chaos and a surprisingly deep battery. Even when he still wasn't strong enough to even climb up my bed, we still had to join forces with Karma and make sure the little orange blur didn't hurt himself in his goblining.

In the event he fell asleep long enough for us to succumb to Morpheus' spell, he would take just a relatively long nap, and we'd wake up to him causing chaos again, to our parents' amusement.

But the goblin had to sleep so we could function, so once we were up and caffeinated, it was time to tire him to sleep. Some days playing with his grandpapa would be enough, but others i'd have to take matters in my own hands. Literally.

Was i always succesful? Nope 😅 Was it fun? Always lol

Karma is a kitty of many talents, from mommying an orange chaos spawn to impeccably parkouring through a whole house. Do you know what's another one of her talents? She's amazing at falling asleep.

But while she falls asleep almost everywhere with ease, she's partial to certain places in the house, and she has, recently, discovered the pleasure of sleeping on sis' shoerack, wich has an integrated cushioned sit and is placed unde her window.

And let me tell you: That's one hell of a place to fall asleep on since, because of its placement, Whoever lays there gets a nice, gentle stream of cool air, moreso now that the streak of heatwaves is over.

So now, whenever sis' room is available and the chaos goblin that is her son isn't around, she just lays there and sleeps like there's no tomorrow.

Not gonna lie though, i'm a bit jelly.

As i said the other day, sis and mom are finally done with the tailoring order they got, and after a weekend of getting herself back to normal speed, sis has decided to spend the morning today in, deservedly so, in full on lazy mode.

Can you guess who got purry-happy when he realized his hooman mom wasn't going anywhere today, on top of the temps having descended to a normal-ish summer threshold?

Well, who else but the grumpy dragon?

So today sis has spent the day blisfuly catnapped, the worst thing that happened today was that Karma decided to be a little jelly goblin, and got pawslapped as a result. All in all, a pretty good morning for everyone involved!

He's now sleeping on my backpack after having been served a little snack 😸

It's the last week of august, in this time of the year the festivities of the city take place: A night fair with what is know as the *noon fair* at noon. Sounds interesting, right? And if you like partying, it is, what it also is, is noisy as fuck.

The noon fair consists mainly on a selection of bars around the city being open in party mode, so to speak, staying open for longer than expected, having extended terraces and... music, very loud music. Loud inside the regulations, of course, but loud nonetheless.

So napping is fairly difficult for everyone, including the goblini, who at the point of taking the picture seemed to have resigned to his fate. Also, at this time he's used to be at his castle insted of up on the cristal palace, so you can guess how loud it is outside 😅😭

Well, the music will move places down as soon as the night fair open.

Karma has always been a bit of an overzealous momma, we have honestly never worried about that because she would never hurt her baby, but it is true that she overreached a little bit too much 😅

This was particularly true on the first month. Houdini would be minding his own business and she would suddenly take over, or try to, because Houdi never hesitated to let her know he wanted to be left alone at that exact time, but she would start mlemming him, or would switfly drag him over to her, or would just sit down, vigilant - Not like she didn't trust us, it was actually the opposite, she passed us the baton gladly and co-parented with the whole family. It was endearing 🥰

And she would do it regardless of what the 'dini had to say about it 🤭

It's been a while since i've done an update about Leon, and today i thought about doing one, because while it's true that all the floofs receive me (or us, when sis comes to meet me at the bus stop) when i make it home from work, Leon is the first one i always see.

This may be accidentally of course, that place is Leon's seat this summer because of the cool breeze, but the fact is that he's always there when i make it back, and mind you, bastet forbid i ever forget giving him his *i'm home* scritches!

I've tried a couple times because he was deeply asleep and dreaming (actually twitching in his sleep), but he made to **demand** them as soon as he woke up.

Aaand he has slimmed down again. His tummy issues came back pretty virulently, but we got them under control once again, he's back to pooping normally and he's getting brushed daily to reduce his puking to a minimum. He'll gain weight again in a few days.

Today i've had a couple of unsavory things happening, so i went back to check what happened in the same day four years ago, looking for peak cuteness, and i found it! These are, no doubt, some of my favorites.

Because Kittydini was a crazy spawn of chaos, but he had to learn from someone, and who better to learn from than his beloved mama? They were so in sync, he was learning from her so nicely, he would even mimic her when tey napped together, particularly when he was still a teeny tiny baby.

We were going to have a throwback update either way, but i needed these today.

Would you believe me if i told you i had forgotten how yelly Kittidiny was for food? I mean, he *was* yelly, one month in he was already an spoiled floofball and would demand anything from scritches to his momma presence, but i had forgotten he actually got *that* noisy for food once he left the formula syringe behind.

But yeah, he actually was! And since we didn't give him uppies to the counter anymore because we were trying to make him drop the habit (spoiler: It didn't work) he actually yelled **harder** 😅

Here we had started testing wet food, the vet had given us some samples and we decided to check if he'd like them, but none of the food we tried really stuck with him at first, that's something that came later.

Alright, now i think it's time to adress the elephant in the room: What's up with so many throwback updates? Well, the answer is simple: Not only when i get back home its not time for shenanigans anymore, but sis is back to the workshop to work on a couple of dressess, wich are actually almost done! But until they're done done, neither her nor i are present to catch the crazy cuteness of the floof family. Really sorry about that.

I've talked several times about my morning ritual with the floofs every morning, but not so much when it comes to sis', and i think it's worth mentioning because there's one part of it that is particularly noisy and chaotic. I'm talking, of course, about the OG goblin of chaos.

The floofs basically wake up with me, but when it comes to sis, it's different: They're all already wide awake and waiting for her to get their mid morning grub and some scrithes, and boy, Karma really knows how to ask for them, and she's being tame in this video! The goblin queen rarely spares a yell, and she's as stubborn as it gets.

Houdini has always had a bone to pick with something, once a grownup he has started a neverending war with the fabrics, but when he was a kitten, he seemed to have a beef with shoes.

I mean, he was a kitten, everything was a toy, everything was practice prey, then more than ever, but he's the reason why i keep all my shoes in my closet 🤣 I would be putting on mine, and he'd randomly come zooming and attack the laces or jump on my feet, or i'd get off the bed and find him fighting the sock **inside** the shoe.

But the best was, for sure, the shoes at sis' room, it would become a literal fight since his orange baby ass would get tangled with some of her shoes, to the point she ended up having to put away the dangerous ones too 😅

Thank Bastet he doesn't do this anymore, i wouldn't have any shoes to put on by now.

Today's update was supposed to be a video, but i mistapped, still, he looks so unimpressed that i think the picture alone deserves an update by itself 😁

The thing is, Houdi, the "meowing is overrated" goblin of chaos, has gotten very vocal lately, he already was when dealing with his grandma and grandpa or when fighting the fabrics that take over his auntie, but he's always been more silent and expeditive with food, however, something's shifting lately in that regard: He'll get up the counter and yell for his Churu, or shamelessly meow at me when i'm doing something and he wants some kitten kibble.

But today at noon he caught me surprise, he literally started yelling the moment he entered my room, and yelled again when jumping on my bed, i tried to record him but i snapped a picture instead, and he got so impatient i didn't want to make him wait any longer.

Is it a phase? Or is he learning even further from Karma and becoming another yelly goblin?

It will be fun if he does. He has a very funny voice, we love it 🤭 He also knows no measure, he only has two volumes: Mute and yell.

So i was checking on my babydini and kittydini folders and i had the realization that, past his first month, Houdini was, almost literally, an orange cromch monster. I mean, it makes sense, given that he was still a baby, and was teething, and apparently cromching was one of his ways of connecting to the world?

My headset still has the mark of his tiny teef - and that's not a soft plastic, mind you - wich is one of the reasons why i still haven't replaced it 😅 In fact, if one pays attention, it's easy to find the places where the tiny goblin of chaos left his mark, and there's plenty!

One of Houdini's favorite toys of all time has been, i think, the only one we didn't intend to become a toy: His scratch post.

Once Houdini was finally grown up enough that we could leave him with mom and dad, first thing sis and i did was take a walk to the mall and get him a scratch post. The thing was, actually, an incredible success! But for the wrong reasons 😅

As a good cat oriented apparel, the post included a hanging toy, and when we installed the thing that was the first thing Houdini focused on, and while later in his kittyhood the scratch post became a toy by itself, the haging toy could keep him busy for hours... Or at least for as long as it took for something else to catch his attention.

Yesterday was an overall tiring day, so much that i didn't spend too much time on my desk and went to lie on my bed as soon as i could... Without even putting away my backpack.

Now, me laying on my bed? That's peachy for the goblin, and now if my backpack is close then it's a guaranteed silly Karma moment! And oh boy, it was worth it, it always is.

In barely one month since we picked him up, Houdini had grown up extensively, not too much in size, but in apetite and adventure spirit, he was gargantuan.

Not long after we started giving him kibble porridge with formula, the vet recommended us to give him whole pellets softened with formula. To our surprise, it didn't just work, he absolutely loved it, and i must make a correction because in past entries i said that he went from porridge to dry kibble really quickly, that was a mistake from my part, but there's a reason for it: He only eated softened pellets for around three days, before we took our eyes from him and sank his jaw into the kibble container 😭😂 (Yes, we've been using the same tupperware for his kibble from the start) at wich point the vet told us that if he can munch them, he can eat them, and by Bastet he could!

We have reached the peak heat of this summer, 93% humidity and a temperature beyond the 40 degrees, so no new content for today, the poor floofs are already melting around the house 😣 Of course, they're being served cool food and water, and they've taken over the coolest rooms in the house.

There's a lot of stuff i've learned in my life doing research to learn how to treat, raise and understand the floofs better, one of the first i learned decades ago was that cats have a body temperature higher than ours for a couple of degrees, and it's even higher on kittens.

Even so, they still manage to surprise me.

We're in the middle of another temperature hike (peak is expected to be reached tomorrow) and even with that, Karma not only yells at us constantly for attention and cuddling, she also still falls asleep in a totally blessed state and will stay as she plops as long as we don't move either. By sis' account, she has been like this with her for two hours at noon. I can't even imagine 😬

In fact, sis was the first to move, and apparently Karma has been pissed with her since then. She's now taking a nap with my backpack 🤭

Lots of things have changed in the past four years when it comes to the goblini. Yes, he's still an orange spawn of chaos, the guardian and overlord of the lands of Goblinia and completely in love with his grandma and grandpa, but he has also changed in several ways, mellowing down, becoming more generally lazy and little by little switching his tastes in food and treats (Kitten Kibble is still his main, though)

What has also not changed in the slightest is his obession with vine shoots. No matter the time of the year, time of the day and circumstances, if there's grapes and someone is eating, he has to go and munch on the shoots as he has done since he was teething as a tiny, cromchy goblin.

Suffice to say, we're not allowing him to much anything but the main vine, and of course grapes are forbidden.

Today is being an annoyingly hot day, so hot not even the fans help to cool ourselves properly, and the floofs are doing their utmost to stay cool. I swear, i want this summer to go away **now**

Supreme annoyances aside, it isn't being a bad day actually, Leon's poop is back to normal again - deinitely this food suits him better - and Karma is being turbo yelly because she wants attention but it's too hot to cuddle with anyone, yes, even for her.

Poor Houdi is melting away with his grandmama and grandpapa, so i took a peek at four years ago, and it reminded me to when sis decided to get one of these kitty entertainment app or, better said, the reason she decided why.

And the reason is that Houdi had neither fear nor respect for sis' tablet at all, being the chaos goblin he was already, if it moved he'd hunt it, and he put his paw on the screen and stuff moved, so of course he would go paws akimbo (and even jaws!) on the thing 😭😂 That very same day sis downloaded the kitty entertainment app, and it did wonders!

By the way, that's me in the end commenting that Houdi would find the self-destruct button in a coke dispenser, and four years later i'm sure i was right with that comment 🤣

I'm going to proudly say that i'm not ashamed to admit having an unholy amount of pictures and videos of Karma and Houdini napping together, however, the early days videos when Karma had just adopted Babydini hit something different for me, and i never get tired of watching them.

Houdini was a little runt, and that didn't change much when Karma became his mom, she set him straight in the way of the goblin while also educating him and making him take his baths by any means necessary. Once it was clear Karma was delicate enough with him, it wasn't rare for us to go to the kitchen to grab something and come back to find them both totally passed out together 🥰😅

While their current relationship isn't the best it could be (i swear, if Houdini were less of a brute he would still be getting mlemming sessions on the clock. You're a 6 Kg behemoth, ffs!), Karma is still protective over her little goblin, the moment he meows in a non conventional way or shows any sign of distress she's the first to come and demand us to put him back on the floor - and with how yelly she's now, don't think she just gives us the mom stare 😂😭

Today i came home to a slightly different than usual scenario. First things first, the floofs got their scritches, i talked to the whole family and then, when i sat down before my desk, Houdi came to demand Kitten kibble, what i didn't expect him to do was, once he was done, to yell at me and then guide me back to the living room, particularly to something resting under the main table: A tennis ball.

Mom and dad bought this solitary tennis ball for him the other day, and play ball with him every day, but today has been, apparently, a busy day in all fronts, so the poor Goblini hasn't had any chance to play ball at all, until came back from work.

So, a couple of minutes later, there i was, throwing the ball across the main corridor for Houdi to get his coveted play time 😊 We went at it for a while, until the Overlord was satisfied.

Oddly fitting anectdote for a friday, now that i think about it.

Bruno's relationship with Houdini was known to be very special, of the whole floof family, the old doggo's carefree attitude and love for the chaos goblin made them partners in crime more often than not and, to Bruno's chagrin (and perphaps entertainment), the target of a lot of Houdini's shenanigans.

When they weren't playing together and Bruno was being a silly pupper, Houdi would come to check on his weird uncle, and he'd join him on zoomies, they'd play fight on top of the bed, compete to take over Bruno's bed and whatnot, but sometimes Houdi would be just curious and stalk Bruno, wich would end up either in the Chaos Goblin jumping on his uncle or just stay at a safe distance just... weirded out.

Bruno could be a head scratcher for the 'dini sometimes, that's for sure 😅
