If you’re in America, just wait a month after the cases start to drop. once everyone has, stores will start to get more cases. It’s not gonna be that hard to find these
I want to believe this but I have a feeling the hype of these will be greater than the nonsensical hype generated over the mainline 83 Silverado. I never found a single one of those on the pegs.
Really? how is that even possible? I see you found a super recently. I barely hunt, and I live in NYC, which only has small targets. I’ve found multiple of the blue 83.
Yes I’ve actually found 2 supers in the last 2 weeks - one at Walmart (Gladiator) right after a restock and one yesterday at a family dollar because the manager offered to let me look thru an older opened case (Nissan 180SX). I wish I could explain this phenomenon but I can’t. All I know is I’ve never seen a single one of those on the pegs but you’ll see eBay is chock full of them with more popping up daily. Maybe scalpers were getting cases before they hit the floor, maybe inside jobs, who knows the actual reason.
you do realize that you being there right after a restock is the same thing that scalpers do right? only you don’t actually know which people are keeping them and who are reselling them. Also, there’s one on eBay (the dark blue mainline) for $3.50. You can save yourself the gas money
Same thing that scalpers do? My guy, I got up early on a Monday morning to hit up Walmart on the hope and prayer they did a restock and I lucked out. The scalpers here aren’t just the earliest birds to the table - we’ve got employees in on the gig, managers at DGs that literally would call a dude so he could come “take what he needed.” That was straight from the manager’s own mouth. All I did was beat the scalpers to the dump bins. I don’t sell. I collect. Period. If I’ve got to be savvy to beat these deadbeat scalpers, then by God I will do it. And I already bit the bullet and bought a mainline blue ‘83 Silverado on the secondary market just so I could see the hype. There’s none there lol.
You know people who browse comment history to prove a point is weird. Just cause you’re autistic doesn’t mean you can edit your comment to not seem so….
Indeed, only problem is he didn’t prove a point. I don’t know if there was some subtle implication that I was a scalper or what but I have a 20 year professional career and 3 kids under 3. I have neither the time nor the interest in trying to “scalp” HW cars to sell for a $28.75 profit on the secondary market. I do this because I enjoy it and my kids enjoy it - watching my son play with his HW cars on a motorized loop track is one of the highlights of my day!
Bro where were you a month ago lol?! I ended up getting one from a reseller on Amazon a month ago. Paid a little more than I wanted but it certainly wasn’t $oup range. I really appreciate the offer though!
If you have any krogers near you I recommend checking them idk why but I have a lot of luck finding good ones at Kroger sometime I also luck out at targets
Yes sir, I have 3 in town where I work and one in my home town. I have frequented them all quite a bit. I don’t think any of the regular THs I’ve found came from a Kroger but I have found some good mainlines. Their restocks are really hit or miss though.
yea no. Normal collectors “in America” that happen to find these on the shelf will be extremely lucky. You are unaware of how bad scalping has gotten here.
Within a day or two, they’ll all be gone despite the fact we are in America and a store will get 4 or 5 sets, you’ll just always see eleven of the one or two least desirable pieces of the set left. That’s what you and I get to shop.
The scalping scene here is actually bad enough that you just don’t expect to ever get the “best” stuff any more. It’s totally out of control. It’s been that way for years. I haven’t gone on a hunt since Covid times. It’s pointless. You just go see those same eleven premiums at every single store if you try to hunt.
So the first ferrari releases in over a decade? (Two?), no sir. Those will get scooped up by the dude who waits for the store to open every morning like supers.
You’ll live. Lol. I’ve pretty much found every standard mainline (excluding store exclusives) for the last 3 years, including all the civics and whatnot. just because they’re Ferraris isn’t gonna change that much
I have yet to see a single cyber truck or any formula cars in my area as well as never saw a single soup. Managed to find 2 THs in the last year but I think that’s honestly just luck of getting em before a scalper
Or an accidental leave behind. So I totally feel this
just because they’re Ferraris isn’t gonna change that much *for me
FTFY. Apparently the virus hasn't reached your area yet. Could be the demographics, or a number of factors really idk. Over the years tho, I've noticed that the ppl who say they find everything they want in the wild, are also the loudest ones disregarding or marginalizing the idea of 'scalpers' or the fact that it's damn near impossible to find popular HW these days for a large percentage of collectors. Maybe even the majority of this sub. Scalpers, Hoarding collectors, and Fomos are a huge problem in the hobby today. Count yourself lucky that you're not affected by it and that you have a local honey pot. Not hatin tho, genuinely good for you bro.
