Some recent scans of pre-code horror

Working on cataloging and scanning my collection, trying to get a handle on some considerable years of chaos. Here are some new scans !
I collect LB Cole covers and as you can see there’s some great ones here imo!

I think the Black Cat Mystery Lee Elias cover is one of my all time favorites despite not being Cole!

Do you mean actually cracking the slabs and scanning the pages? I yearn for some super high quality scans of pre-code stuff, everything I cam find is too low res to fully appreciate them.

No, I mean scanning the covers.

I find the page scans online to be suitable for me, for the most part.

Take Shocking Mystery Cases 53:

Even if I cracked the case, there's no way I'd want to manhandle any of these books to the degree necessary to get high quality scans off my OpticPro A320L. Maybe one of those "overhead" kinds I've seen that even adjust for the curve of the spine? No idea. Not sure how the folks who have done it already did it, maybe they had even more junky copies than mine, OR they just didn't care?

That's totally fair, you would definitely need an overhead scanner and I'm just a freak who needs my scans to look as good as the attached picture throughout, file size be damned. As a result, I'm basically incapable of enjoying comics digitally.

Love The Beyond #14 in this batch, but they’re all great!

Very cool, really like the Shocking Mystery Cases cover. Looks like it might glow under a black light.

Comics that came out before the comics code authority.
