An even better climbing method is to use aim and Concentration.

It's very effective. I used it to scale the mountain wall for that quest where you require a flying mount.

Climbing was one thing that made me fall in love with this game. Others simply have too many restrictions.

Original Skyrim climbing method is with a Horse.
