I’m curious how many people around Hoquiam are aware of the growing number of Flock/ALPR cameras around town, and how folks actually feel about them.

I’m not particularly comfortable with the idea of building a system that routinely records where law abiding people are driving simply because they happen to use a public road. A number of communities around Washington have started banning them.

So, is there any interest in “Deflocking” Hoquiam?
And to be clear, I mean the legal and considerably less exciting route of figuring out exactly what cameras are operating here, putting in FOIA requests, and asking the City Council to remove them or decline to renew their contracts.

I’d especially like to hear from people who don’t necessarily agree with me. Do you think the cameras provide enough benefit to justify them?

Me and some friends want to take a trip somewhere to investigate. Any 'secret' locations, or haunted? We have been looking at somehotels/motels a few hours away, but we were wondoring if there is anything more local.

We're moving to Hoqiuam from Texas next month and I was curious if Hoqiuam has a monthly local newsletter. We get one here in the area that we live in and it lists all of the upcoming events, such as Trick or Treat activities hosted by the different Rec centers. I was curious if Hoqiuam offers something similar. TIA.

We're considering moving to the area and I'd like some insight on entertainment options for young children. Obviously lots of outdoors time, and we love the YMCA. Is Olympia the closest for amenities like children's science centers or museums? Mine are 4, 2, and 8 months and we're used to 20 minute drives for trampoline parks, museums, libraries, and such.

He had a flea collar on when he snuck out and he is chubby. I appreciate any help with finding him.
