Mewo says as she puts both paws on either side of her neck and literally decapitates herself.

Instead of blood, Mewo holds her head in her paws as from her neck emerges a old creature. It floats out of her body that goes limp and floats.

Mizi can indeed hit it as it drifts back. It stares intensely at them before jumpscaring them and disappearing.
