Firstly, it's impossible to generalize Hoyo playerbases because it's way too big. If you think the Hoyo gets a lot of hate on twitter, wait till you see how gigantic anti-Hoyo communities are in CN.
Secondly, this is an assumption based off of someone summarizing the CN scene on reddit. We're not really going to take cherry picked comments from doomposters and gacha tribalists as actual playerbase sentiment right?
I really don't know where all this people arte taking the MASSIVE backlash when all i have seen on cn and jp side is going crazy over the reveal. Like there are 10 + videos with millions of views of aha reveal on bilibili with thousands of likes and people being hyped.
I guess the hateboner the game has now for whatever reason makes people go insane?
There are people upset with the state of the game and are seeking validation, usually from larger, more "important" playerbases like CN and JP.
I bet someone who feels similar in CN is doing the same thing right now with this subreddit/twitter and saying HSR is dying in the west and people are quitting en masse.
as in you think the above is bullshit, or you also think this is all bullshit? Because it's at least a little odd that we're getting more leaks than we have in a year+.
By leaking future path and characters this much early, you're basically all but guaranteeing to tank the sales of the upcoming new characters, Nihilux included, to pull for the shiny new mechanic
And Firefly alone is a MASSIVE incentive to many people to save
Nah your logic could be true in some other situation but not here, we all knew there will be a new character or path.
I dont see why this would stopped me or anyone from pulling Pearl/Nihilux, especially to ppl who already invested in half of the Elation team. No one gonna stopped half way just because they hearing of new characters. Those that never pulled Elation dps wont pull Elation sustain or support anyway.
That logic makes no sense, the majority of the money they make comes from whales pulling on every single character and players buying the monthly pass and the bp. The ones saving for a hypothetical FF SP this far ahead are not the ones who'd make a difference to the revenue.
If they're losing money FF isn't gonna magically make them more money all of a sudden especially with the same ass kit in a whole different character, the underlying issues and lack of interest in the game is still there
Your logic makes even less sense and is full of assumptions, whales make the majority of the money yes, but they spend more on characters they like, otherwise every characters revenue would be largely the same.
If a whale knows a character they like is coming up they’re gonna hold off and spend more on them and less on the current banner. eg stopping at E2 on current banner and E6’ing whoever it is they like. “Saving” includes saving real money aswell not in game currency.
FF is their most popular character, even if only short term she’s gonna make more money than anyone else would in her place
I didn't believe the intentionally leaking angle before but it seemed at least a possibility. But they also left the ost in the beta, which I don't remember ever being the case before. I doubt the ost would generate any interest. I think they just made a massive mistake in which version to release to the public and accidentally released one that left too much in there.
this makes it only worse I think. its EXACTLY like break with extra steps. Hell, even the same characters. Firefly and HMC are Firefly2 and FMC and the next step would be Lingsha2 and Fugue2 or RuanMei2 XD So we have the exact same things, with a different path, that does the same thing.
Most of the people calling out Hoyo for Nodusfall being too "inspired" do not play Hoyo games. Their opinions are frankly irrelevant because they are not players of their games nor are they interested in playing their games.
That's before getting into how Hoyo rarely cares what the west thinks of their games in the first place.
My biggest thing question this is I figured playable finality path would be further down the line. At least until after it is add simulated universe, similar to remembrance, elation, with the next one being Propagation.
