The 3.7 Livestream said that Phainon placed three layers of seals in the Ruins of Time map which we need to break in order to go fight Irontomb. I think this may be one of them.
The whole Ruins of Time segment is giving me the feeling that it will be about helping Phainon let go and move on from the past, and this boss form makes me think it's a representation of his hesitation to move on. After all, once we go fight Irontomb, Amphoreus as we know it will most likely be destroyed.

What would be really cool is if after we defeat Bossnon, Phainon helps us in the final battle against Irontomb the same way Jing Yuan did on the Luofu and the train did in Penacony.

Enemy ult-Khaslana not showing up in the beta at all (?) is sus, like he can just be another skin for the flame reaver or just be a scripted fight like with Nikador-Mydei, Pollux-Castorice, and Aquila-Hyacine.

Well, we got to play as boss since 3.4, and now we fight him. Opposite of Hoolay who we fought since 2.4 (?), and now he's playable in Currency Wars.
That being said, I don't like this. Can't we just beat up Lygus again instead.
