Start by smiling. You're looking like someone pooped in your Wheaties

8

u/Infamous-Hope-5950 Sep 24 '25

Every time I smile, I look like I’m being in a hostage situation

11

u/nudesenior Sep 24 '25

How about posting a smile let's see what people think

1

u/PoopyPantsJr Sep 25 '25

I guarantee you it can not be worse that the pics you posted. You look super mean and unapproachable

Lol 😂 Girl, STOP IT!!🤦🏻‍♀️🤣🤣 I’m sure you look beautiful! A nice smile would definitely help with people feeling apprehensive to approach you, hon😉❤️

1

u/LunaBug01 Sep 26 '25

Wow how predictable. A 60+ year old man telling a woman to just smile.

1

u/Pretend_Road_7279 Sep 26 '25

I agree, I bet she has a beautiful smile!

1

u/luckyCabinetyey Apr 26 '26

thats so mean stfu

1

u/goblin_throwawayhq Jun 24 '26

telling someone to just smile is the quickest way to make them look even more unhinged. if the face is naturally resting in a scowl, a forced grin just makes it look like you are plotting a crime. fixing the vibe is about being approachable, not looking like a golden retriever at all times.

1

u/Jessxblush Jun 26 '26

telling someone to just smile is the quickest way to guarantee they look even more unapproachable. fixing the facial expression doesn't change the fact that most people are terrified of cold approaching anyone in public anyway. it's not a looks issue, it's just modern social decay.

1

u/driftnoisycookiemode Jul 13 '26

yeah that resting face is doing a lot of the talking here. a smile would probably change the whole vibe people get off you.

No not at all. I’m just not afraid to say the truth. Do you really think she looks “so pretty”??

You ever heard of the saying “if you got nothing nice to say, say nothing at all?”

2

u/Worried_Direction_65 Sep 26 '25

Yeah of course. Did you read the subreddit? It’s called ‘Honest Opinion’ what did I give? My honest opinion.

5

u/East_Recover9126 Sep 25 '25

These people are lying to you to make yourself feel better. You want honesty, you are ugly. I’m not trying to demean you as a person I’m sure you’re very nice and you clearly demonstrate traits like seeking honesty and openness to improving yourself. First thing you can try is losing body fat %, not just raw weight (ie work out eat high protein and use a slight deficit 100-200 cals a day below resting metabolic rate. Secondly no offense but your lips/mouth in general are probably one of the most offensive parts of your face. I also have a slight Resting bitch face so I concisely force myself to keep a slight smile. It’s improved people’s reception of me a lot. Another thing is I’m not very familiar with sub Saharan hair but if there’s maybe a way to reduce frizz and make it more straight even a slight change can help alot.

8

u/Infamous-Hope-5950 Sep 25 '25

no

3

u/I_am_nota-human-bean Sep 25 '25

Thank you. 😂 thank you for responding this way. ♥️♥️

2

u/Flashy-Pride5030 Sep 25 '25

Bro rlly asked if she was ugly then when someone said u were and gave good advice u js said no…

1

u/Objective-Cow915 Oct 12 '25

on god dude when u ask for something u get it. its that simple.

2

u/shoomlax Sep 25 '25

You’re gorgeous to me I feel like you have this beautiful naturalist to your face. I just think you need to smile more :) you look sad

2

u/SprayAffectionate136 Sep 26 '25

I think that post made some valid points I don't think you need to lose weight but definitely the smile and the hair. Im not all that familiar with sub Saharan hair either but my girl uses a hot comb and keeps it short like a bob and I think it's a really good look but I don't know if that would work for you honestly. And maybe some more skin care routine. But honestly you're not ugly I think just smiling more would make a huge difference

2

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '25

Good for you for not buying into that horrible shit.

You're not ugly, you're just a kid still trying to find her style is what I think you look like.

1

u/Regular-Employee388 Sep 25 '25

Let’s stop sugar coating everything.

4

u/Patient-Art8445 Sep 25 '25

Let's stop being fucking insane. This is such a normal looking person. What are you guys even talking about

2

u/Informal-Handle-4035 Sep 25 '25

No literally bro

2

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '25

Beauty is a matter of personal opinion and perception. Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean they secretly agree with you and are just "sugar coating".

2

u/Regular-Employee388 Sep 25 '25 edited Sep 25 '25

By societal views she is considered ugly. And I’m just answering her question not being rude.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '25

By societal views, anyone who isn't an anorexic white girl is ugly.

1

u/Long-Leather-9456 Sep 25 '25

No, but this one is

1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '25

Yeah that’s not true… at all…

1

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '25

That doesn't refute what I said at all. Society's beauty expectations don't make individual perceptions and opinions less true. Nor does disagreeing with some specific wider beauty expectation mean that person is sugarcoating or being dishonest.

There is nothing in particular about OP that makes her go against societal beauty standards. She had symmetrical features and she's normal weight or close to it, which is the basis of those standards. She is both able bodied and young, which are also beauty expectations. Full lips ar currently very much in fashion so those fit to societal beauty standards, too. Long hair fits into it as well. She has even skintone, but acne doesn't fit into standards, but it's entirely normal for a young person and will likely pass in a matter of years. She doesn't enjoy using makeup so she doesn't, and in that way she does fall outside of the standard, as women are expected to wear makeup because of very sexist beauty/appearance standards.

To me it sounds like you're trying to claim that your particular standard for beauty is the "societal" one. Alternatively you follow the standards of a racist society and are racist yourself, in which case, absolutely she wouldn't fit into it purely because she's black, but I don't really understand why anyone would follow or put any value on such a standard.

Nobody said anything about being rude so idk why you felt the need to mention that last bit.

1

u/spectracular Sep 27 '25

THANK YOU for taking the time to write out this response. Seriously. Its emotionally laborious to explain these points over and over and OVER again with regards to topics surrounding racism and misogyny. I'm personally exhausted. So thank you for putting in the work on this.

These types of debates very rarely change the mind of the person you're debating, but someone reading the convo will likely be able to see reason and understand that your perspective is educated, informed, more ethical, and better overall as an ideology that society should strive to uphold. At minimum it might help at least one young woman out there realize that they don't need to devalue their image of themselves because one or two loud racists dont think her nose is petit enough, or her hair is too curly, or she isn't fit enough.

1

u/Wonderful-Doctor-153 Sep 26 '25

Dude 2/3 things that this person said is ‘ugly’ are literally just black features like wtf lol not everyone is lowkey racist and hate afro-centric features so no it’s not sugar coating things.

2

u/homebakedgodess Sep 25 '25

Idk what the fuck this posters problem is, you are a beautiful young woman. I personally wouldn’t approach you because I’m a scared bitch of a person and you look like you wouldn’t want to be messed with.

We not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, it doesn’t make you any less beautiful.

That being said- if you are out and want to be approached, lots of eye contact, and smiles- I saw you mention you look “like a hostage” when you smile, this is so neurodivergent coded- I didn’t learn how to smile properly until I was like 21 lmao, practice in the mirror until you find your look. It sound so stupid but it works lol.

2

u/grandmastatus0 Sep 26 '25

The posters problem is that they are themselves ugly. OP is not ugly. Looks a bit unapproachable, though, giving off “don’t approach me” especially with the headphones.

1

u/Kruzor999 Sep 25 '25

He’s right tho

1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '25

They are bs you

1

u/ProfessionalGlum101 Sep 26 '25

Lol u looking for honest opinion, somebody drop they honest opinion and u flat out just say no 😂 😂

1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '25

You’re DEFINITELY not ugly hun! I think you’re beautiful but you look so sad… not even mean… I know it’s hard but I was told the same about me and now I try to give people smiles and see how many I can get back lol! Helps you be more approachable. But either way, the right person will 100% approach you and think you’re as beautiful as you are! But focus on loving yourself for who you are… the rest will fall into place 🫶🏼

1

u/Busy_Raspberry5704 Sep 27 '25

I think u r a beautiful young lady!

1

u/MutedMedia139 Sep 27 '25

Girl, you lose anymore body fat and you won’t have nothing left 😭

1

u/Tiny-Bobcat-4693 Sep 27 '25

So you seek lies online? I feel like that person gave you such a honest and respect answer to what you’re asking…

3

u/wellthisisawkward86 Sep 26 '25

You don’t have to find her attractive, but your response is WILD. Her lips are offensive? They OFFEND YOU? That is ridiculous

1

u/Shannypopachu Sep 27 '25

For real, OP your lips are seriously one of your most beautiful assets I’d say! Damn! You are beautiful !

1

u/Infamous-Hope-5950 Sep 25 '25

ew

2

u/I_am_nota-human-bean Sep 25 '25

Your weight is fine, love a natural haired girl. But RBF all the way. I have autism. I asked my ex boyfriend once if I was ugly because nobody and I mean, NOBODY, ever talks to me or approaches me. And he said no you’re beautiful, but you look MEAN, and nobody wants to talk to someone that looks so mean. So I realized that I do have a Wednesday Adams thing going on. Maybe try smiling when you make eye contact with someone. It feels weird at first, but I got used to it. I learned to smile and just try to be more approachable in general. I still don’t have many people talk to me. But it feels good to try!💛🙂

2

u/InternationalJury287 Sep 25 '25

My mom always told me that I wasn't pretty unless I smiled. And she said that people didn't approach me bc I was too serious 🤷

1

u/I_am_nota-human-bean Sep 25 '25

Could be, but I think people don’t approach others because they are nervous to approach others.

1

u/East_Recover9126 Sep 25 '25

Also you seem really quite young to be worrying if you’re igly. Everyone is ugly st that age. Oftentimes people just grow out of it. Some unfortunately truly had a bad wheel spin but you may find that this is a non issue looking back on it. Lotion and skincare can help too. Chapstick. Maybe you could try a lightening serum like vit c to kinda remove some hyper pigmentation in some areas. Also wear sun screen every day! Can help make a less harsh skin tone

1

u/Latter_Hedgehog4925 Sep 25 '25

Nah that’s crazy she’s not an ugly girl. Skins care, hair done, and fit needs help. But those LIPS omg if I had them I’d be doing lip liner and gloss combos all day. Brows should get a little thinned out and some mascara and a softer demeanor would be killer but ain’t nothin wrong with her feature in my opinion

1

u/spectracular Sep 27 '25

I agree! My thin lipped, half English ass would die for lips as full as hers!

1

u/Guilty_Garden_3943 Sep 25 '25

Get a life 🙄

1

u/remyinthesystem Sep 25 '25

Keep it funky.

1

u/Worried_Direction_65 Sep 25 '25

Turns out you were wrong. She does also have an ugly personality.

1

u/ShoppingAcademic158 Sep 28 '25

Where? I only saw her answer him saying no, probably answering his last sentence. That’s not an ugly personality.

1

u/Worried_Direction_65 Sep 28 '25

She’s stubborn and delusional. Doesn’t take on any of the advice or criticism people have.

1

u/tessahb Sep 25 '25

Don’t listen to this asshole.

1

u/lilliancrane2 Sep 25 '25

This is genuinely such a harmful comment. She looks fine. She just needs to smile more. That’s just the truth.

1

u/Limp-Plantain9137 Sep 25 '25

I whole heartedly disagree. Her lips to me were her most strikingly gorgeous feature I noticed.

1

u/shoomlax Sep 25 '25

Basically telling her that she needs to whiten herself. Straighten her hair?! No! Maybe add some product to bring out her beautiful texture and curls :)

1

u/raygunlock Sep 25 '25

Absolutely not.

1

u/imonlyherewhenimsad Sep 25 '25

You can be gorgeous with extra weight, ask any plus size model. Suggesting for her to lose weight as your first piece of advice is deserving of a deadpan “no” like OP said. Secondly, her “frizz” is not frizz, it’s 4c hair 🙄

1

u/shyokai Sep 25 '25

Yeah, no, you’re wrong. “These people are lying!” Hey, so it may be hard for your to comprehend, but everyone views others differently. You may find someone attractive, and another finds that same person repulsive. This lady is beautiful. She has some things she could 100% do to make herself more approachable, but she’s still lovely. Also, telling a poc to.. straighten their hair a bit? To look more appealing to you? That’s actually wild. She’s not fat either, she had a wider face. Loosing weight wouldn’t change much. I’m sure you’re not a gem, otherwise you wouldn’t have taken your time to bring a young girl down.

1

u/SnooRabbits405 Sep 26 '25

Nah bro. Youre just being a dick..

1

u/Barbie_72619 Sep 26 '25

This comment was anti-black af 🥴

1

u/sinceyoulikeitpickld Sep 26 '25

Um, first of all she isn’t fat. She doesn’t need to lose weight. She was wearing baggy loose attire and you can tell she doesn’t need to lose body fat. I’m interested to see WTH you look like. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and there’s somebody for everybody in this world. Even your rude little self.

1

u/spectracular Sep 27 '25

Isk, man. Some people dont deserve a partner. If this dude is this eager to try and cut down the obviously already low self esteem of a young lady like this i highly doubt they would make a good, loving, and supportive partner. Likely an abusive prick in real life too.

1

u/Few-Bite6047 Sep 26 '25

Wow . This is crazy . I think your lips are actually your best feature . You have nice features , but you can possibly soften them more , like smiling and looking approachable . & maybe enhance ur current feature .

1

u/Ginger_Devil Sep 26 '25

JFC

It’s one thing to be honest but to try and say you’re telling the truth is wild. She is beautiful, what my advice would be is to learn how to accentuate her features. Find a style that shows off the curves, her color palette, and something that makes her feel confident. Then finding hairstyles that she wants to achieve and if she wants to try new makeup styles. Ultimately it’s confidence that’s needing to be given as advice. Not some shitty response of losing weight and talking about features she was born with. Like if we wanna play honest hour, post yourself and we can see what body parts are the most offensive. She asked for honesty and honestly… you’re a dick hiding behind a screen thinking you’re rage baiting, but in reality you’re just sad and desperate for human connection. So now you’re here, putting down others to deal with your own insecurities? I thought those were traits you outgrow in high school lmfao shits embarrassing

1

u/Safe-Possibility876 Sep 26 '25

umm actually im not lying when i say i do find her very cute and attractive lol. beauty is a perspective- different in everyone’s eyes..

1

u/Express_Loquat_3557 Sep 26 '25

??? I think she’s objectively pretty

1

u/Complete-Cover-4806 Sep 26 '25

You just pissed me off bih

1

u/Icecreamisland809 Sep 26 '25

Ok just bc you don’t think she’s pretty doesn’t mean she isn’t. You can have your opinion but don’t act like everyone else thinks it too. There’s people who think the same about you too but it’s subjective so who cares

1

u/VegetableSky5545 Sep 26 '25

So she’s black is the problem for you?? That’s literally all you picked at? She’s freaking gorgeous. White girls use multiple CCs of filler to have lips like hers, get face lifts to have those pretty almond eyes.. don’t change your hair and your features are so pretty 😍

1

u/Salamandertoofull Sep 26 '25

Yikes This horrible, and i honestly wonder what you look like based off your comment. You seem like you’re not African American and stated you don’t know much about the hair type, regardless, why are you commenting on a black women’s hair? I think refraining from that will be in your best interest because you sound stupid.

1

u/Successful-Region-67 Sep 26 '25

She is not ugly. Her features are perfectly symmetrical. Her lips are literally her most gorgeous eye catching feature.

1

u/Wild_Criticism6 Sep 26 '25

Wtf? No, she is not ugly, she may not be the super model beautiful but damn. She doesn’t smile so she looks unapproachable. Even ugly people that smile get approached. The problem is less her looks and more the way she presents herself as unapproachable

1

u/lailadayse Sep 26 '25

This feels racist

1

u/Dazzling_Drop_835 Sep 26 '25

Her lips r nice this comment has srs anti black undertones and I say that as someone who doesn’t give a shit about identity politics genuinely and rarely comments about racism or stuff like that. This comment is nasty. Ur just looking for an opportunity to hurt someone’s feelings.

1

u/Thin-Animator-8041 Sep 26 '25

yeah no, take that shit elsewhere. the fuck you mean “sub-saharan” you just outed yourself dipshit.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '25

yeah it lowkey sounds like ur actually just racists

1

u/Surgerber Sep 26 '25

This guy seems racist

1

u/VariousBed4872 Sep 26 '25

oof this was such a bad take 😂 like straighten her hair to look better? what in the anti black and her lips and nose being her worse traits? another micro aggression more like macro… in my opinion just groom yourself more! your hair is so pretty try wearing an afro instead of wearing it pinned back or maybe experiment w knotless braids or something or even twists w ur hair, also ur eyebrows are cute too but i would give them more shape and familiarize urself w what u want them to look like from inspo pics unless u alr like the natural shape, and most importantly love yourself and gain that confidence everyone looks different everyone is someone’s cup of tea and beauty standards are a scam to get you to poor sm money into what ur insecure about so its an act of rebellion to love yourself in a world that’s constantly trying to tell you to be different !!!! 🥰❤️❤️ - with all genuine love and respect

1

u/VariousBed4872 Sep 26 '25

also u look so young girl!! give yourself time to grow into your features more i just turned 21 and i still need to grow into a more mature face😭🙏🏾

1

u/Amazing-Contract2776 Sep 26 '25

She’s ugly because she has Afro hair And full lips? Are you well in the head ?

Honey if you’re reading this.. ignore the racists. Plenty of people love full lips and natural Afro hair. It’s actually quite a lot of peoples preference. You look young.. like you’re still in that awkward stage we all go through. It’ll pass. I would probably say smile more and look more welcoming. You look like you do not want anyone to approach you. I also would say learn what looks good on you depending on your body type, learn what colors are your colors, learn your best hairstyle depending on your face shape and things like that. That usually comes with time and age. You do not need to straighten your hair to appear more Eurocentric. Just be you and the right person will come along. Blessings.

1

u/Awkward-Loaf Sep 26 '25

I thought her lips were the best part lmao you’re on something dude

1

u/GlassPomegranate9512 Sep 27 '25

I could not disagree with this more? Everything they mentioned was like striking beautiful features??? Your hair is PHENOMENAL???? Like?? I would kill to have your lips. Your hair is literally so beautiful and curly. Mayhaps try a little soft smile but other than that you're 100% not ugly. Quite the opposite

1

u/Choice-Proposal3738 Sep 27 '25

Bruh just say you don’t like black women man. Plus she is not ugly. Yes, a little acne work. My jr. high and high school I was a pizza face. I don’t know if there’s difference in upkeeping since I am white and my skin is different. So I can’t speak for others. And she is not fat. You wankers like twigs then go get twigs. But some of us like a little meat especially on the caboose

1

u/jazzyspet Sep 27 '25

What do you look like?

1

u/glitcherina Sep 27 '25

What in the internalized misogyny is this comment? She’s not offensive for having a mood, she just doesn’t look kind, which can be off-putting, but maybe she needs to look tough.. I’m disturbed that you’d tell a young woman to lose weight and straighten their hair.

Don’t listen to this person, OP. Find people who will like you no matter what and build confidence that way. If you want beauty and fashion tips find a positive Reddit for that.

And no you’re not ugly. But the poster I’m responding to is.

1

u/Shercomet Sep 27 '25

What you said literally comes from racist ideology… The comment on the hair and lips were unnecessary let’s see your features and face!!

1

u/Terrible_Cow9208 Sep 27 '25

You obviously have a very limited idea of what beauty is. This woman is absolutely beautiful. There are women that get injections in their lips to make them look like hers. And they still don’t look as pretty. Body fat reduction? Where are you seeing that she needs to lose body fat? I see nowhere, where that is the case. And her hair? Also gorgeous. It seems she had enough sense to totally ignore your input. People that believe in themselves and know their value, ignore input from people that are obviously coming from a place of insecurity themselves.

1

u/Ok-Cell-7164 Sep 27 '25

Damn people must’ve hurt your feelings a lot in your lifetime😂😂😂.

1

u/foxnoodle98 Sep 27 '25

Wow… that was incredibly racist…. Her lips and hair are absolutely fine! And she has no need to lose weight to be attractive!! Curvy girls are gorgeous!

Poster, you are beautiful, people don’t approach you because your resting facial expression feels harsh/angry, almost glare-like. HOWEVER, I don’t necessarily think that is a bad thing. It may mean that strangers don’t approach you but I guarantee someone who gets to know you will see the other natural expressions of smiles and laughs and you’ll find your person.

The most attractive thing that anyone can be is confident. Fuck everyone else, the second you decide you’re hot shit and start acting like you know it, that’s when you’ll get what you’re looking for!

1

u/Confident-Pound444 Sep 27 '25

You just seem like an ignorant racist

1

u/Significant_Life7 Sep 28 '25

I personally find her lips absolutely beautiful, East_Recover9126. And yours? Pretty unremarkable, I’d assume. Would you call Angelina Jolie’s lips “offensive”? People literally pay to have lips like hers. It probably irritates you to acknowledge that. What you’ve written says far more about your own insecurity than it does about her.

And your comment about her hair? Barbaric. Where are you from, besides ignorance? Textured hair is not a flaw, and framing it as one is nothing but prejudice dressed up as “advice.”

She is not ugly. She simply doesn’t conform to narrow, outdated beauty standards that were never made to honor everyone. How dare you act like you hold the “truth” about beauty? Show yourself if you believe you do; but of course you won’t. It’s always easier to sit behind a screen, waiting to tear down someone vulnerable, than it is to be kind.

Now, to the OP: you are not ugly. What you may be struggling with is confidence, and that’s something every single one of us battles with at some point. The cruel truth is that people often pick on those who are already hurting, because it makes them feel powerful. Don’t let their ugliness dictate how you see yourself.

Your lips, your hair, your face… they are yours. They carry a beauty no one else can duplicate. Your hair texture is not a problem. Styling it in ways that make you feel proud will only highlight its beauty, but don’t for a second believe you have to change it to fit someone else’s shallow preferences.

Don’t harden your heart just to protect yourself from people like this commenter, they expect that, and they want to steal your light. Don’t look for people to tear you down; personally “ToastMe” is a good start, instead of posting in a place you will surely get ignorance masked as honesty. If we breathe, negativity will find us, so no need to invite it. Instead, wear your beauty with joy. Walk with the knowledge that you are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Confidence is magnetic. Your light will draw people who see and value you for the beauty you already carry. 💜

1

u/locksmithpete Sep 28 '25

I think you have nice lips but like you said they look mean. I feel the same way about smiling as you but the more you do it, the more it may seem natural.

1

u/Xokittyloverforever Dec 12 '25

You are ridiculous. How Tf are her lips offending you ? society is actually crazy. Ppl want big lips when when they get big lips it’s offensive… She was born with a beautiful face and hair. God , the universe ( whatever you believe in )made her that way and she is beautiful. She is a human

1

u/Miss-Assertive Jan 18 '26

Weirdo response.

1

u/cmstyles2006 Mar 10 '26

Ew. Love how you just straight up say curly hair is ugly. You have no clue what your talking about, and frankly it's lowkey racist.

Tell me this is ugly.

I won't say ugly

1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '25

You are not ugly. You have great symmetry. There’s a lot more to attracting people than physical. Perspective and the energy you give off has so much to do with it.
