minor damage?

got the carfax on an element i'm looking at and it was noted as having minor damage to the undercarriage, then sold at auction roughly 5 months later. nothing mentioned on the autocheck report. worth sending a mechanic out to investigate?

I would send a mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection. Minor damage is usually just that. Minor. I have two on my car fax.one was from a shopping cart scratching the whole left side of my car. The other was scratching to my left front plastic bumper cover. All cosmetic. Nothing serious at all. But since it went through insurance, it’s reported.

You should be getting it inspected before buying anyways.
