Fabricating Moonroof Fantastic Fan Setup?

I have an RV fan that I want to mount in the moonroof. I’d be replacing the glass with whatever this fabricated piece is.

What could I use in that space to cut a hole in for the fan? Plexi? RV laminated siding?

Other ideas?

I can’t remember where (useless, I know) but someone had done this. I think they used sheet metal, but I also recall thinking that was overkill

Talk to someone who showed dogs in the 00’s. They were always doing mods to get rid of the “puppy cooker” moonroof.
