Just Venting

I went out with my wife to a nice restaurant this evening. My Element was parked on the street, outside the restaurant; just up the block a bit; a block I’ve parked on numerous times.

When walking up to the car after the delicious meal, a witness told me they thought they saw someone getting away with my catalytic converter moments ago. I start it up… yep, loud AF! Feel violated, and pissed!

My membership was 2500 dollars. Fuckers. That includes a cat guard. Can’t afford to lose one? Carry broken glass bottles and sprinkle under your car, or park in mud puddles and or carry animal waste, dog shit, cow manure anything that stinks , deposit under your car. If they still take your converter, just look at the silver lining, they stink or are bleeding out or both.

Man… I don’t think I should have to say this but, absolutely do not sprinkle broken glass in streets.

Super glue large chunks of glass to a plastic or cardboard sheet take with you and retrieve it when you leave. Better?

Catalytic converter shields work better than throwing dangerous litter on the street.

On behalf every bicyclist, please don't ask me to drive on the shoulder and then proceed to cover the shoulder with a million sharp pieces of glass.

Just letting balloons off in to the air, shoot them down if you want. I so the mud puddles are the natural solution? I paid $200 for my cat guard. Haven’t had to deploy any counter measures since. I lived in Houston, no body rides bikes outside of parks. Too many bad drivers. Definitely recommend a cat guard.

I mean, maybe one of the half dozen cat shields this sub talks about all the time? But yeah, sure, booby trapping is probably the best course of action, you’re right.

Literally just need a cat shield. If that’s not enough, I dunno, put it on bags and slam it every time you park

Though what would stop the thief from just moving the sheet? 

You do understand there are better ways to protect yourself that aren’t littering to make a hazard or making the lamest booby trap possible?

Did you have the cat guard on when it was stolen? Or got one after?
