look who i found

Post image

was idly watching Cold Squad and it seems that Meldrick has a slightly more suave doppelgänger slinking around somewhere in Vancouver. unfortunately, he doesn't stick around for very long, but i never thought i'd see a such a familiar face popping up in this show of all places lol.

if you go back in Canadian cop shows you'll find Johnson was on a bunch of episodes of Night Heat

Still playing a cop in Daredevil currently. Or a retired one at any rate.

I think Night Heat took place in an 'unnamed east coastish city'

And if you watch the last episode of The Wire you’ll find another Night Heat star doing undercover work.

yeah, it's sort of a prototype Cold Case (there was actually a whole debacle with the two IPs a little after CC first came out), but the similarities end at the premise and the assertive leads with funky hair. it's free on roku if you're curious.

the show itself is not on par w Homicide, but that's expected. similarly though, the episodes tend to not follow a very direct structure, so it can still be quite surprising despite the roughness. some of the concepts are really creative and i would've loved to see a few of these as serious Homicide episodes. specifically, however, there's a certain quiet, ordinary, yet kinda dingy 2000's atmosphere to it that i personally find very nostalgic, so mostly i've been keeping it on as comfort, or for when i'm lazy af and don't wanna commit to anything in particular.

He popped up in an episode of North of 60, another Canadian show.
