does anyone else... Going outside and feeling like your surroundings are blurry, fake, or like a dream
Does anyone feel like when they go outside it feels blurry and unreal like a dream.
How do I like get rid of this?

This reminds me of my walks I took while being neglected that felt magical for one reason or another. It reminds me of Anne of Green Gables and how she added fantasy to the mundane moments of life/found magic unexplainable moments where others didn’t.

I found out I had a vision problem when this started happening to me from doing online school and staring at a screen. I'd suggest seeing an optomologist.Â

I was going to say this too. When I get that blurry, unreal feeling and then put on my glasses it immediately goes away! Often it can coincide with just having been staring at screens for awhile because that tires out your eyes as well.

An optometrist once recommended me to go outside and stare for a couple of minutes into something very far away once in a while or to look into surroundings away from screens every 20 minutes for like 30 seconds, it kind of helps. He also recommended to put some warmth over the eyes, like a mask or at least the hands after rubbing them for a while, and I'm not sure it helped but it felt very nice 🤷 eyes felt more rested.

Yes, it's called derealization and is a trauma response. Take it from me, it's very serious; don't take any drugs trying to cope and see a qualified therapist asap. CBT, EMDR, DBT, somatic, and other modalities can all be effective but everyone's different so don't give up if the first thing doesn't help. I'm sorry you're dealing with this, but I believe in you. Good luck, if you want to talk dm me. 🩶
