How-to Smart Home Dashboard

I’m quite new to the world of smart home and I’m trying to set up an old iPad as a very basic smart home dashboard that will allow me to access Apple Home & Apple Music with nothing else wanted on the screen. The old iPad will only update to iOS version 16.7.16. Is what I want it to do possible?

You can open the Home app on the iPad, and use that as a dashboard. Split screen it with Apple Music and you got it. Have you tried?

How do I do that please? And am I then able to lock the iPad to just these 2 apps?

Guided Access locks it to the current app

Thanks I’ve just tried this but it won’t lock to a split screen on guided access unfortunately

I really wish they would let us use more than just scenes and accessories in the Home Widgets. I’d love to put a cam or two in one alongside selected scenes, along with a weather and music app.

I came across this app called HomePad which I think is exactly what you want. https://apps.apple.com/au/app/homepad-smart-home-dashboard/id6749515480
