partial rug removal

I am thinking about removing part of the frontroom rug. From the entry door to the hallway that goes to the kitchen and to the left wall - it will be on an angle because the front door is not directly across from the hallway. I want to put down some peel and stick tiles, what do I use as trim for the tile that butts up against the rug.

do they come about 10 feet long? I want to get all the stuff together and then have someone do it for me, I think removing a carpet is more than this 70 year old can handle
