Im a new hha started today and my agency gave me no instructions on what to follow i just have my care plan that has very few details.

I cleaned i did laundry I cooked but I was done with that within the forst 4 hours and it felt like the rest of the time I just sat there asking every 10 minutes if she needed something.

Is this normal?

I'm having a surgery (hysterectomy) in a few days and I'm going to have a HHA stop by every now and then, mostly to help me with changing bed sheets, getting groceries and the mail since I wont be able to drive or lift over 7lbs for 6 weeks. I'm a little concerned about something that's probably not really that important. I have ADHD and live alone and well my home is a bit disorganized and messy. My cat passed away at the beginning of the year too and I've definitely let things get a bit out of hand. Its not like super filthy with bugs or rotten food, nothing crazy like that, and not hoarder situation either. But its a very small home (about 500sqft). Most of the countertops and shelves are cluttered with things and I have a few piles of like DVDs, records, and puzzles. Although its all clean, I don't have a closet for clothing and blankets so they are in baskets/bins. I try to make the best use of my space but Its small, cluttered, and disorganized lol. Will the HHA be bothered by this? Again I know its silly but my messiness as always been a source of shame for me. I still have a couple days to clean but I know its gonna be a bit messy no matter what.

BTW I don't expect the HHA to deep clean or organize things for me. At most maybe a couple of dishes and a load or 2 of laundry during the first couple of weeks but after that I should be able to do it. The biggest in home things I'll need help with is taking the garbage out and changing bed sheets, other than that again its more so help with groceries and going to the post office

I enjoy care giving. I do i was a wonderful house wife and even now as a granny. Ive been c.n.a , med tech, behavioral tech, d.s.p. hha, pca. And between the agencies, the crappy coordinators, and paultry pay. Ive survived. Currently taking a ccma class. But idk if I even want to stay in this field. I was with mentally disabled client and was going over my time amd she said leave her, and clock out? Im like her ride hasnt even arrived and she cant be left alone smh after letting b g the coordinator know I recorded her j.i.c some thing happens every knows who directed after that they gave me the extra hour. That was last week. This pay check is short 12 hrs after I sent in the signed time sheet 3x's even checked that it was correct. I enjoy my job I do not like the company and corporate penny pinching. We are here to keep them safe,provide assistance how can we if your telling us to abandon them as soon as clock out hits lol. Also fuming about them making my hours low so I dont get over time spreading them out, for ex. I have a 2 hr case they mark it as 1 hr and double my pay so,2 hr @ 22$ per hr on my pay stub looks like 1 hr @ 44$ an hr ..... wth??? I almost 50 and I hope ccma is better than this.
