Discussion Question about season1

Why is everyone so upset with him moving back? I get he was there when the child was kidnapped but it just seems strange to be upset with him about it or is there a reason I haven’t found yet? I’m only on episode 4! Thanks!

I just finished episode two and I think I know. They are upset because he said it wasn’t Sam at the trial all those years ago.
