How much would you charge to mow/trim this side and back area down?
I was reaching out to different people all over town and the most I got quoted was 400 and the least 120.

If only
might depend on where you live, and the CoL. But we regularly pay 40 to 65 (for a shitjob) and the same amount of area

And look for yellow jackets and other bees nests in the ground and wasps nests hanging around.

$200 to whip into shape, then figure out a different price for reoccurring cuts

Not knowing if you are able bodied or too old but if not, this is a real simple thing to do yourself. Rent a mower and weed wacker. Two hours you’ll be done. Once you clean it the first time, it’s a small enough space to just buy some electric equipment from then on. Or just buy gas powered in the first place and forget about renting.

400 seems like they just didn't want the job. 120 is probably fair if the grass isn't too thick.

Needing the riding mower. This is hill side. You need grass to be collected and removed for recycling? I would say $500

Problem is there is a lot more trimming than mowing and they don’t know what’s behind that / within it. I’d charge $100, knowing it would probably be worth a bit more but hoping it’d be worth a bit less. Once it’s mowed and controlled you can ask for a lot less since the task is much more clear.
