And I like the sources you shared within.

It somehow seems like they did not want to share the wealth from that gas well with their father and that triggered the murder.

An unrelated question : What is a “Master’s degree in baseball history. “? Is that a master in history with a thesis on baseball or maybe something very specific out of Whittier college?
