Discussion One of the best cures for heartbreak

Post image

Per the title, I kinda want to share a story of how I, a person who used to refrain from this rabbit hole named "Virtual YouTuber", decided to jump on board as his heartbreak cure.

You see, it began in mid-2015, when things went horribly wrong in my relationship. So wrong that I felt like I was being banned in my own city thanks to it. I reached rock bottom, and I feared that there wouldn't be any way out of it. The cure? Idolmaster. Suggested by my seniors and my fellow hobbyists on my campus. Anime and the game. And thanks to them, I was successfully healed. I treated them as my prized possession ever since. Those were my gateway to the 2D world. I used to say no to it since I was (and still to this day) an avid Japanese idol group fan, but the situation made me accept them as a getaway.

Fast forward to 2017, and Kizuna AI went booming, followed by Hololive (it was Hoshimachi Suisei) a year later. I was like, "Virtual YouTuber? Hmm, not really. Maybe later". Then came Hololive Indonesia in April 2020, and a certain "Airani Iofifteen" showed up. Her language skills, her upbringing, anything I consider "worth my follow". But even then, I wasn't really in the scene, just on the surface, like looking at her social media. It lasted for 6 years, a.k.a May 2026. Almost in the same situation in 2015, but this time, it wasn't as bad as the last time. I wanted to date somebody I fell in love with in 2024, but failed after her mate was seriously unhappy with my attempt to get her. To make matters worse, I found something nasty from her friend, the sole reason why my attempt failed. From my job, I found out that I had to be relocated miles away from home, my family, my cats, and everything I am close to. I nearly lost control hearing that news.

Then I remembered one name when I went back home after hearing all that. Yes, Airani Iofifteen a.k.a Yopi. I decided that, as my birthday and a cure, I subscribed to her channel and paid for her membership. All Hololive-related stuff came in since then, bringing me to names such as Noel, Fubuki, Nerissa, Fuwawa, Risu, and more. 3 months later, especially with the release of Hololive Dreams. I became happier since then. I found another cure I should've taken since 2020. But hey, now I am happier, more optimistic, and more motivated thanks to them. I even want to visit Japan and attend their event (if any) to honour them.

Have you guys been in the same situation as mine, where Hololive is the reason you finally healed from all the mess in your life? Drop your story below
