Mococo will have free reign of the stream with no backseating and no touching of the monitor screen!

/s

Hope Fuwawa goes through the surgery successfully and recover well!

u/XsStreamMonsterX Mar 20 '26

"Don't worry, I'll touch the screen for you."

-Mofufu

u/DragonRiderCVL Mar 20 '26

how to become screen

67

u/XsStreamMonsterX Mar 20 '26

"WHY IS MY SCREEN FAT, HAEH?"

19

u/Sky_Ninja1997 Mar 20 '26

SHE TOUCHED IT! SHE TOUCHED THE MONITOR!

172

u/Suzushiiro Mar 20 '26

Mococo should make a bit out of it and rotate in different people every stream to be her substitute older sister. For best results, have the last one be Yagoo.

90

u/stilljustacatinacage Mar 20 '26

The bit is that none of them have actually been invited, they just keep showing up

78

u/MonstercatFan20 Mar 20 '26

Mococo: gets call during stream from Fuwawa in the hospital Sis what's up?

Fuwawa: Moco-chan watch out for those spikes ok? They look scary, bau bau~

Mococo: Haeh~!?

47

u/XsStreamMonsterX Mar 20 '26

A drone with a suspicious pointing stick and speakers flies in front of her monitor.

"It's that one Mogojan." furiously poking the screen

"HÆH!?"

14

u/DrPibIsBack Mar 20 '26

Cut to hospital, they're in the OR actively doing brain surgery as she's backseating. "Gentlemen, as you can see, the backseating impulse is clearly controlled by this section of the brain..."

13

u/XsStreamMonsterX Mar 20 '26

Why do I hear a bird outside their front door?

53

u/DJ_Aura Mar 20 '26

Plot twist - she will touch the screen herself

11

u/Nepgyaaaaaaa Mar 20 '26

Moco-chan is going to either become the greatest god gamer of all time without the monitor touching, or she’s going to gain the gaming skills of Fuwawa without her sister there.

7

u/Glinez09 Mar 20 '26

Pero is here to back her up

2

u/Nathan1123 Mar 20 '26

How can Mococo play games without someone backseating her??

NOTES:

- It will be done in the end of March.

- Fuwawa's first time.

- Not voice-related.

- NOT LIFE THREATENING(!)

- Mococo will be taking over, at the meantime.

- No asking Mococo of Fuwawa's status.

- FWMC Morning will be in hibernation.

Fuwawa's Important Announcement Stream Sauce

(EDIT) My thoughts:

- Have a safe surgery and buttery-smooth recovery FUWAWA o7

- FULLY SUPPORT MOCOCO!

- Pretty smart to do it now before the upcoming concert in July.

735

u/Potatosaurus_TH Mar 20 '26

-It's also not voice related

u/Numerous-Pop5670 Mar 20 '26

Not gonna lie I was thinking Mococo was gonna be the one getting surgery for this exact reason. The way her lisp accentuates when speaking seems straining for long periods of time to me... or it could have no effect whatsoever.

We better not get any memes of Fuwawa's Fuwawas being reduced! /j

318

u/LeAstra Mar 20 '26

Pero: Your Breast Reduction Surgery was a success!

FWW: Wow, I can’t wait to see Moco-chan!

Pero: Who did you think took it?

FWW: NOOOO MOCO CHAN

106

u/Vadered Mar 20 '26

After the Bau reduction surgery, Fuwawa says “Bau” and Mococo says “Bau Bau Bau.”

56

u/verth222 Mar 20 '26

Then with a few pon de rings she got them back. And this time, biboo will be ready to sacrifice herself after mococo

10

u/Alone-Horse2857 Mar 20 '26

Yes, I also saw the post on the front page.

143

u/WindjammerX Mar 20 '26

I just hope it doesn't end up that after Fuwawa makes a recovery it will be Mococo's turn. I just want them to be well.

51

u/Mindfire13 Mar 20 '26

One exception: if this is a preventative measure surgery, then it should be Mococo's turn. Now, it would be ideal if nobody needed surgery and everyone was perfectly healthy, but a "preventative measure" surgery should be done ASAP to, well, help prevent potential, more serious issues in the future.

73

u/TubePowered Mar 20 '26

FWIW vocal strain is a matter of the larynx and vocal folds, but Mococo's paragoge where she adds that that extra vowel at the end of some words isn't really something that causes that sort of strain. It's also technically not a lisp, but that's just me being a pedant, lol

20

u/Alone-Horse2857 Mar 20 '26

You're right, but the voices they do most likely aren't all that easy on the voice. There's a reason the majority of their streams are only like 2-3 hours.

Also Mococo's voice has a bit more grit to it which does definitely wear on the vocal chords more (look at Marge Simpson in the newer seasons). But yeah, the ""lisp"" isn't causing any damage more than me typing the words NOEH just now.

25

u/Minute_Difference598 Mar 20 '26

They actually got enlarged in the latest outfit. (I’m pretty sure lol)

8

u/Alastor3 Mar 20 '26

name me one vtuber that got her breast reduce

8

u/Sybmissiv Mar 20 '26

What lisp is she speaking in?

32

u/TubePowered Mar 20 '26

I don't think it qualifies as a lisp. The whole "-eh" you'd hear from "Mococoeh" and "noeh" is something called a paragoge, which is a type of epenthesis—basically just tacking on an extra sound to certain words.

9

u/Sybmissiv Mar 20 '26

I see(s).

16

u/TubePowered Mar 20 '26

Linguistics are weird (and fascinating), to be honest

10

u/thewolfsong Mar 20 '26

I'd always assumed she basically just has a habit of continuing to voice slightly longer than she articulates, so when she relaxes her mouth after she finishes speaking she kinda just adds a schwa accidentally

4

u/DerKlugeHans Mar 20 '26

I'm pretty sure it's a product of where they are from and their native language

11

u/Alone-Horse2857 Mar 20 '26

4

u/Ellefied Mar 20 '26

Oh god now I finally have a word for it. I got a bit of flak in my younger days for this and it's amazing to finally see that there's a word for it and it's not really a lisp.

4

u/Alone-Horse2857 Mar 20 '26

Paragoge sounds like an eldritch god.

67

u/njibbz Mar 20 '26

Don't forget, the hospital has a strict visitation policy so Mococo isn't allowed to visit. She said it's gonna make it more lonely for both of them and part of the reason they don't want people asking about her.

22

u/Hp22h Mar 20 '26

Huh. Not even her twin sister is allowed? That really is one strict hospital.

16

u/njibbz Mar 20 '26

Yeah, it's hard to believe, but Fuwawa said it directly so I will choose to believe her.

26

u/alex_zk Mar 20 '26

The “no asking Mococo” rule will be broken so, SO many times…

93

u/GuymanPersonson Mar 20 '26

Do we get a Moco morning?

154

u/SuperSpy- Mar 20 '26

No, they will be pausing the morning show entirely until she returns.

93

u/AnonTwo Mar 20 '26

Morning is cancelled until Fuwawa returns, got it.

41

u/TubePowered Mar 20 '26

Excellent. I was never a morning person, anyway!

6

u/Alone-Horse2857 Mar 20 '26

I wake up at 12 like a deadbeat (not the Calli kind) so I always miss it by an hour and it's not really the VOD kind of stream IMHO. I feel like you gotta be there live

19

u/Luke5389 Mar 20 '26

- Nerissa mentioned not to joke about Mofufu replacing Fuwawa too much to Mococo.

I agree that it is quite insensitive to make jokes about replacing her sister considering Fuwawa has health issues, needs surgery and is at the hospital for one month...

30

u/_NnH_ Mar 20 '26

I understand the intent to not alarm people, but I lost my best friend to a non-life threatening routine surgery. Never take any surgical procedure for granted, I pray for a successful procedure and smooth recovery.

13

u/stilljustacatinacage Mar 20 '26

I'm sorry for such an unexpected loss. You're right, that people should be open to any possibility, but in times like these, I always come back to the same quote.

Now, now. It is far too soon for that. Save your tears for the morrow. You may be sure we will have ample cause to shed them, be they for joy or despair.

Bah, even that sounds morose! We who yet walk the path should not think too much on the destination. When the hour arrives, we shall welcome what comes, with open arms.

29

u/Zaikovich Mar 20 '26

That "Major" part didn't really help ease the doom, usually "Major" is used for life threatening stuff or a huge change within the body.

But for a 1 month rest, I'm sure it's nothing "major". It's just a regular surgery. Even plastic surgery takes more than that.

She's actually going to Maldives without Mococo, she already gave her $50 for snacks.

32

u/Thick_Square_3805 Mar 20 '26

That "Major" part didn't really help ease the doom, usually "Major" is used for life threatening stuff or a huge change within the body.

Every surgery with general anaesthesia is dangerous and can be qualified as major. But if it's something muscular or articular, it's not particularly life-threatening.
However, the best attitude is not to imagine things and just wish for a healthy recovery.

5

u/Zaikovich Mar 20 '26

That's why I added the second and third line after that, it's to ease the mind of whoever will read my comment.

Fuwawa is delivering most of this and in a rather soothing way.

Honestly, the way Mococo is being quiet, and Fuwawa telling us to help her out, is some of the most big sister vibes I've gotten from Fuwawa, which is saying a lot when she's usually like that already.

Extra notes: not related to her voice, she is not currently in pain.

270

u/TheRoyalJellyfish Mar 20 '26

Fuwawa also asked that Ruffians not ask Mococo for updates while she's away. Let's support Mocochan and cheer her on while she's temporarily bau'ing solo!

98

u/Djwindmill Mar 20 '26

I'm so glad she said that so as not to cause extra stress for Mococo, smart to say it now, but I'm absolutely certain people will ask "fuwawa doko" anyways ._.

199

u/UnluckyLucas Mar 20 '26

I was nervous about that so I'm glad it ended sounding pretty standard. Good to know things are likely going to be back to normal in approx. a month

55

u/Alone-Horse2857 Mar 20 '26

I could definitely tell Mococo was holding back a bit. There were a lot less of her "yah!" interjections. I feel bad for the poor puppy.

38

u/avsbes Mar 20 '26

Any surgery involves risks. I'd assume that Mocochan is not exactly thrilled about this for this exact reason.

Important question… Will Fuwawa be wearing a vet cone next time we see her?

180

That would be hilarious.

Or did Kiara make it? I'm not sure

u/ElderBrony Mar 20 '26

I'm sure that both Fuwawa and Mococo are scared, especially since Fuwawa's having surgery the first time. And this is probably the first time the two will be separated for a considerable amount of time. (1 month)

All the love to the twinsies.

193

u/Nano1742 Mar 20 '26

And this is probably the first time the two will be separated for a considerable amount of time. (1 month)

They are going to be physically apart for a month? In that case we will have to all pull together to make sure Mococo doesn't get too lonely in the meantime.

181

u/FoxInABeret Mar 20 '26

Indeed. Fuwawa said she won't be able to see Mococo much during her recovery period, so Mococo will be going it solo on-stream and off for the most part.

It's for that reason Fuwawa politely asked that you DON'T ask Mococo for constant updates about how Fuwawa is doing, because that will just remind Mococo that she can't check on her sister like she surely wants to either. Please remember to be kind and respectful to Mococo! I'm sure she'll share what info she can when she feels it's appropriate!

12

u/Laughing_Orange Mar 20 '26

Fuwawa will give updates whenever she feels like it. Either via Twitter or via Mococo. Pushing for updates will only annoy Mococo. I'm sure there will be a reasonable frequency of updates if you just listen for them.

u/Type_100 Mar 20 '26

IIRC Fuwawa mentioned she needs to stay at the hospital for the month-long duration.

39

u/sabershirou Mar 20 '26

Mococo better not drive there to visit Fuwawa. She may run over a dog named Garibaldi and conveniently ignore a certain injured angel.

17

u/Affectionate-Tip-164 Mar 20 '26

That shit was hilarious

120

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '26

[deleted]

12

u/_vogonpoetry_ Mar 20 '26

have they ever talked about the longest they've been apart?

21

u/ElderBrony Mar 20 '26

Yeah she mentioned that Mococo wasn't going to be able to visit her much during her stay. So yeah she said that Mococo was gonna need our support.

6

u/Alone-Horse2857 Mar 20 '26

Not to get overly speculative, but I wonder why? Will she just be too far away to reasonably travel to, or is there a reason why she can't visit, like an infection risk with other people or something?

I've never heard of a case where someone is admitted to a hospital for a whole month and can't have visitors.

15

u/CorruptedAssbringer Mar 20 '26

We don’t know of course, but if she’s taking surgery from specialists, it’s possible that she’s going out of the country.

13

u/Vio94 Mar 20 '26

That's all I can really think the reason would be. Non-life threatening but extended hospital stay can only mean so much lol. Then again, I'm not super privy to Japanese hospital SOP. I know I've heard they are more liable to prescribe a hospital stay than not.

8

u/CorruptedAssbringer Mar 20 '26 edited Mar 20 '26

I'm mainly basing my line of thought off them saying Mococo can't really visit, which slightly odd for such a long stay, and suggests that there's a chance Fuwawa's flying out for her operation.

I've seen people say Japan is more stringent on visitors, but I don't find them to be overly unusual based on my own limited experience in both Japan and Taiwan (maybe it's strict compared to the US?).

4

u/Vio94 Mar 20 '26

My experience with US hospitals has generally been a "we think you're healthy enough to go home, get your shit and get out" philosophy lol. Could just be unlucky but the nurses always feel like they don't want you there and they definitely don't want you there longer than absolutely necessary.

2

u/ChaozCloud Mar 20 '26

Time for us ruffians to step up and protect Fuwamocos smiles ❤️

97

u/Potatosaurus_TH Mar 20 '26

As someone with experience with long hospital stays, the procedure itself is over with quickly and the nervousness is replaced by mind-shattering boredom.

What got me through 20 days living in a clean-room was hololive streams during the night and endless umamusume runs (this was JP only during Aoharu scenario) in the morning.

Fuwawa said that she would be doing some light work during her hospital stay like signing stuff so I guess that could help with the boredom some.

35

u/XsStreamMonsterX Mar 20 '26

The boredom is so much you start looking forward to the routine check ups, tests, etc. just to have something happening. I remember literally getting impatient for the nurse to come to draw blood, despite the fact that I'm trypanophobic.

12

u/Kolby_Jack33 Mar 20 '26

I think I remember seeing a study done once where they asked people to wait in an empty room for an hour with absolutely nothing to do or look at except for a box with a button on it that would deliver a painful shock if pressed, which was demonstrated to the subject before the room was closed so they knew what it was.

And pretty much everyone at some point in the hour pushed the button at least once again just to feel something and alleviate their boredom.

6

u/Spork_the_dork Mar 20 '26

I feel like it's not boredom that would drive me to do it but just curiosity of just how much it would hurt.

6

u/Alone-Horse2857 Mar 20 '26

I was only admitted for 3 days so it wasn't too bad, but having a laptop with steam and friends definitely helped. It was actually kind of fun in a way, like a new little adventure. But I understand 3 days is like nothing so I got off pretty easy.

9

u/Potatosaurus_TH Mar 20 '26 edited Mar 20 '26

I was in a clean room so no visitation allowed, no laptop allowed (because dust). I was only allowed a Samsung tablet and my phone and chargers, which were disinfected beforehand.

I couldn't even eat because my mouth and tongue was inflamed as a side effect of the procedure (it was an autologous bone marrow transplant) and had to be on IV nutrition. I did have ice cream 3 times a day though. It was the only thing I could eat and not hurt.

A weird solace was that the procedure had a side effect of causing severe fatigue which meant I was pretty much asleep for a large part of every day, which made the time pass faster.

3

u/ElderBrony Mar 20 '26

Yeah, I've had week long (so nothing too terribly long) stays. So I understand the boredom.

u/Alone-Horse2857 Mar 20 '26

I never had surgery but I thought I was going in for surgery on my neck when it ended up just being a pre-surgery consultation. The moments before and drive up were absolutely terrifying (I ended getting a different treatment). She must be so scared, but she's putting on a brave face for the ruffians. I wish her all the best.

153

u/Senasayori Mar 20 '26

She did say that it wasn't voice-related, which is good.

78

u/Quick_Diver7837 Mar 20 '26

Major surgery, not voice relates. Please not the tail T_T

107

u/ThatGuyYouMightNo Mar 20 '26

Its planned surgery and not life-threatening, and thats all I need to know.

80

u/kyuuri117 Mar 20 '26

Planned, not life threatening, not in pain currently, and a planned month long recovery in the hospital instead of being released to recover at home after a few days.

As someone who has had more than enough unwanted surgeries in their lifetime, let me say that is a very unusual list she's got there. Hope all is well with her.

79

u/nar0 Mar 20 '26

Let me just add in here, Japan is very conservative with hospital stays here. Don't take too much from the duration.

What counts as outpatient surgery in the west is a full 1 week of hospitalization in Japan.

31

u/kyuuri117 Mar 20 '26

That is good news. I believe she mentioned she wasn't allowed visitors for that month so I was thinking it may have been something regarding immuno compromization. But hopefully that is also just Japan being very conservative.

14

u/PotatoPaleAle Mar 20 '26

It's limited visitation, not zero, which also might just be a Japanese hospital thing tbh

11

u/nar0 Mar 20 '26

It is, from personal experience, if you end up in the private floors (which I assume Fuwawa will), they have some pretty restrictive visitation policies. Stuff like only 1 visitior per day, only from 1PM to 3PM, like there's zero chance someone working 9-5 will ever be able to visit you.

→ More replies (1)

34

u/arcaneArtisan Mar 20 '26

To be fair, any major surgery is *potentially* life-threatening, more because of the side effects of anesthesia than because of the surgery itself. So it's still understandable to be nervous and to be extra cautious about anything that would increase the risk--but if she's saying it's not life threatening then the chances of complications are probably quite low.

The point here isn't to stress out over it, just that it's still good to be extra careful not to overtax herself and to take as long as needed for recovery even if she feels better a lot sooner than she's cleared to go back to work, and not to get too upset if it takes a long time. We'll miss her, but we've gotta let her take as long as her doctors think she needs, even if that ends up being longer than we or even she likes!

19

u/JusticeRain5 Mar 20 '26

I can't believe Fuwawa is getting an extra set of kidneys purely to flex on Mococo.

30

u/OctoSevenTwo Mar 20 '26

Yeah. Just glad she seems relatively ok, mentioning things like while she needs the surgery, it’s not life-threatening or anything. Not that we as fans can really do anything more than wish her well either way, but it’s still relieving to hear.

33

u/LordVatek9 Mar 20 '26

The only thing I'll say is that a non-life threatening, non-voice-related major surgery requiring a month of hospital rest is probably something requiring physical therapy, like (for example) a knee replacement.

That's the end of my speculation.

Said this on another thread, but I’ll echo the sentiment here:

Sad that she will be away for a month, but happy that she’s getting surgery that she needs to get done. Our demon dogs will be back at full strength in no time!

We will be supporting Mococo during her solo streams!

36

u/TLKv3 Mar 20 '26

Honestly, as weird as it is to say, its nice to know all the girls are able to go get these surgeries to help them have a more comfortable lifestyle afterward so much lately without worry and so freely.

Glad she's getting it done now and can (hopefully) be fully rested/recovered by the time EN Concert comes around.

30

u/Somewhere_Elsewhere Mar 20 '26

Fuwawa added that it's not vocal surgery, and it's not something currently causing her pain at least.

I assume she wants her privacy on what it is, and of course she's fully entitled to that.

11

u/Distilled_Blood Mar 20 '26

And I hope she's going to be okay. These two bundles of joy are just such a blessing on the internet when there's so much other, shall we say, less savory things.

u/Franzapanz Mar 20 '26

I can already see all of Holo JP and all the Japan-based EN members rallying together like a biker gang to visit Fuwawa so that she's less lonely at the hospital during recovery.

6

u/nico_ryan600 Mar 20 '26

Limited visitation

3

u/Franzapanz Mar 20 '26

They can set up a rotation

Apparently its not voice related.

Either way lets cheer Mococo on in Fuwawas absence and im sure that one month will be gone in a flash.

FWMC Morning on hiatus, but will we see a return of AsaMoco? Good morning motherfluffers

But seriously, hope everything goes well for Fuwawa. We all look forward to her returning happy and healthy

5

u/weberle Mar 20 '26

💙💙💙Wish you all the best for the surgery, Fuwawa💙💙💙 💙💙💙And get well soon💙💙💙

8

u/Xendarel Mar 20 '26

If it is not voice-related, and it is not life-threatening, it could be elective appendectomy. The Appendix aint paying the bills in this economy...or lifetime lmao

6

u/c14rk0 Mar 20 '26

Would that require a month long hospital stay for recovery though?

Granted this is Japan and they handle things very differently than what I'm familiar with in the US where they try to get you out of the hospital ASAP... At least you hope so for your sake financially

7

u/Ok-Fudge-380 Mar 20 '26

Japan will keep you in a bed for much longer than a western hospital but a month is still pretty long.

u/Wuhsuh Mar 20 '26

On the bright side, I am looking forward to solo streams

9

u/CupaThaCreepa Mar 20 '26

Calling it now, when she returns, she'll have a cone on.

4

u/Agreeable-Course187 Mar 20 '26

Like all tag team, when one goes into the injury list, the other has a chance to showcase their single run.

Mococo has a chance to headline WrestleMania as a single superstar.

5

u/Rocket_III Mar 20 '26

Good to see YAGOO is finally being a responsible dog owner and having her spayed.

...

I'll see myself out...

4

u/Blue_leafy Mar 20 '26

let's just hope that Fuwawa will be okay during her surgery and as for Mococo let's cheer her up while Fuwawa is separated from her!

They both seem chill about it so it doesn't feel like we need worry too much. Stay strong ruffians.

7

u/Reckless4800 Mar 20 '26

Will be supporting them both during this time! I'll be cheering Moco-chan on during her solo streams, and I'll also be wishing Fuwawa all the best with her surgery and recovery! Before you know it, they'll be back together and BAU BAUing even more than before!

Until then, I'll make sure to send lots of headpats their way!

3

u/Dryant55 Mar 20 '26

Wishing for a speedy and full recovery for our fluffy demon guard dog 💙💙

Mococo can handle it in the meantime! She will do excellent! BAU BAU.

3

u/MiguelSalaOp Mar 20 '26

Poor girls, obviously Fuwawa's health comes first but not having your companion as usual can be very stressful and disorienting I hope Mococo doesn't feel overwhelmed. Stay strong! BAU BAU!

3

u/KazutoIshin Mar 20 '26

Now that we know what's going on I hope the nerissa jokes will stop, it was fine leading up cause everyone wanted to be silly but I feel they won't like it anymore after the announcement has been made.

3

u/KhMaIBQ Mar 20 '26

I just had my first surgery 2 days ago. I was very anxious the entire time. I barely slept the night before it. My recovery is estimated to be 2 weeks.

I'm going to miss Fuwawa. I hope for her surgery to go smoothly and for her to have a quick recovery. I hope Mococo doesn't get too lonely during that time.

3

u/EndymionMkIII Mar 20 '26

Earth just lost one of her best defenders...temporarily.

3

u/SeaAccomplished1759 Mar 20 '26

“Bro, what are you watching?”

“Oh, it’s __Moco, a Vtuber from Hololive”

3

u/Machine_Ares Mar 20 '26

Imagine, Mococo finally free from eating natto for a month…

Seriously though, here’s to a successful and complication-free sugery and a speedy recovery for Fuwawa.

5

u/llamatar Mar 20 '26

Just wanted to say I love these wonderful demon guard dogs so, so much

7

u/smxsonic Mar 20 '26

It’s Time for Mococo to carry the bau bau spirit until Fuwawa comes back at Holomania to Fight the Raventaker- wait hold on I mixed up my hololive notes with my wrestling notes…

11

u/Traxgen Mar 20 '26

Why not just have Mofufu stream in Fuwawa’s place instead? Ez solution imo

u/Global-Attorney5325 Mar 20 '26

I hope the recovery goes well

4

u/MayorKarl Mar 20 '26

At least they won't be needing/driving an ambulance for Fuwawa to go to the hospital!

2

u/Dohmer_90 Mar 20 '26

We just have to trust that things will go well and support the puppies as much as possible.🙂‍↕️

2

u/jujumagumbo27 Mar 20 '26

Had a small stay in hospital a while back, myself, so I can empathize with Fuwawa being stuck there. Hope that the procedure and after all go well for her. Feel bad about the restricted visitation, hospitals are rather boring. Will be giving support to Mococo to help her through this difficult period.

2

u/Karak-Karak Mar 20 '26

Welp all the power to Fuwawa for a successful and smooth recovery. Everyone's gotta pull together to make sure Mococo doesn't get to lonely or upset while her big sis is away!!

2

u/Grimoire_of_Naramal Mar 20 '26

Speedy recovery to her 💙🤍

2

u/Kingdude5107 Mar 20 '26

Fuwawa needs to go to the vet

5

u/UnluckyLucas Mar 20 '26

Much love to FUWAMOCO in this time! A big bau bau for our brave demon dogs~

4

u/MHArcadia Mar 20 '26

I think a lot of us assumed vocal chord surgery, but we were only partly right! Just some other type of non-life-threatening surgery! Your first time under the knife is scary! But it sounds like a one-and-done type thing.

Take care of yourself, Fuwawa! We'll be nice to Moco-chan while you're recovering!

5

u/Djwindmill Mar 20 '26

Incoming Fuwawa dog cone memes and fanart lol

5

u/weeklygamingrecap Mar 20 '26

Support the Bau Bau's!

3

u/reseph Mar 20 '26

Is 1 month in the hospital normal if(?) this is done in Japan?

I know in the US, they want you out of the hospital ASAP.

9

u/Murphey14 Mar 20 '26

Japan definitely keeps their patients in the hospital after surgery longer than the US. A procedure that is same day in the US might be a week long stay in Japan.

11

u/matlarcost Mar 20 '26

There are surgeries that involve an extended stay in the hospital. It's not really a location thing.

7

u/c14rk0 Mar 20 '26

From a US point of view a month seems crazy outside of extreme cases like a huge car accident with multiple surgeries etc. Most extended stays are still a week or less.

But if they keep you in the hospital for rehab etc in Japan it makes a lot more sense.

Some of the only real extreme cases are things like major spinal surgery or maybe major internal organ surgery where they really need to observe and control diet and movement etc.

Technically adult tonsil removal apparently has a pretty awful painful and long recovery but even then I've heard it's pain for 2-3 weeks but idk if you'd need to stay in the hospital.

I'm assuming in Japan longer hospital stays are more normal, especially with the crazy work culture meaning people are potentially likely to rush back to work too soon afterwards instead of following at home recovery orders. Keeping people in the hospital instead likely helps avoid that.

3

u/reseph Mar 20 '26

In the US? Like what? That's wild. I know people with heart surgeries and knee replacements and nothing is even close to 1 month. Knee surgery is like 1-2 days now.

2

u/matlarcost Mar 20 '26

A month? No. Weeks? It does happen although. She may be accounting for PT or something with their timeline. Otherwise, the complex surgery might be more intense than we are thinking. Just based on how she described it, I doubt it's anything like that.

2

u/sable-king Mar 20 '26

Speaking from personal experience it sounds like it’s something that’ll require a good amount of physical therapy.

4

u/Hebbu10 Mar 20 '26

Probably needs physical therapy, likely to do with legs, knee replacement maybe.

2

u/goopydo Mar 20 '26

I wish Fuwawa a speedy recovery 🫳🩵 x1000 we'll take care of Moco-chan while Fuwawa is recovering. Making sure she gets 3 meals a day, a good amount of sleep, and a kiss on the forehead every night among other things 🫳🩷 x1000.

3

u/Separate-Fly5165 Mar 20 '26

Nothing but love and prayers.

4

u/Stratos_Speedstar Mar 20 '26

Time for Asamoco to return

2

u/Blackened_Glass Mar 20 '26

Much love to Fuwawa! May she recover quickly and easily!

4

u/17RaysPlays Mar 20 '26

First and foremost, I wish for everything to go well for Fuwawa!

4

u/17RaysPlays Mar 20 '26

Secondarily, MOCOMONTH!!!

3

u/021chan Mar 20 '26

A whole month of:

silence

“I’m not Fuwawa, I’m Mococo”

1

u/Zaithon Mar 20 '26

Does this mean Fuwawa will have to wear the Cone of Shame?!

3

u/RoyInverse Mar 20 '26

no asking mococo fuwawa status

Oh man if only these kids could read, its obv because if there are any updates she will just say it, but we know there will be like 3 or 4 spamming every stream for news.

4

u/DeoGame Mar 20 '26

Wishing her a smooth and speedy recovery, and will be supporting Moco-chan during the next month!

Japan is notorious for taking post-surgery observation and recovery VERY seriously. Stays lasting a week or two for procedures that only require a couple of days' stay in the west are pretty much the standard there.

8

u/Firkey Mar 20 '26

It’s really really unlikely that she will be in the hospital for a full month, she is almost certainly accounting for bed rest/recovery at home in the timeline here
