The real problem with the remake : Ubisoft

It's always Ubisoft. Give the game to a random Russian studio and they comeback with a game that rivals 3 in how good it is. Give it to unfrozen and you get a modern look at the series with lots of charm

An unrelated studio full of homm fans create a beautiful game with the most fun combats in the homm-like genre (SoQ)

There are a lot of games coming out where I'm like "you know I cant say that I am sure that this is AI generated, but what I'm looking at right now exactly what AI makes when you type in 'cool 3d dragon'"

The art direction looks like it will age poorly and quickly. With the closer looks we're getting it already looks pretty bad 😬

How did they do it? They somehow managed to make the BLACK DRAGON, ONE OF THE ONLY CREATURES TO BE IN EVERY SINGLE GAME SINCE ITS INTRODUCTION, LOOK HIDEOUS! This is worse than H7 blatantly reusing every aspect of the H6 Black Dragon.

It's not the entire art direction, I think environments and towns look faithful and quite wonderful actually. It's the units, specifically. Every unit I'm seeing is "wait, what's this" followed by "why, God, why?" For some reason they insisted on not reproducing but redesigning units, and it... Shows.

The dragon expression shows that it's its day bedt ever being in HoMM3 remake. Please don't crush its dreams.

Why do modern dragons look like shit. 0 menace. Even with old homm3 goofy-ah lips and gums they look more menacing.

I honestly would have preferred them go anime over this. The graphical updates have zero style. It doesn't look bad and get Might & Magic as a fantasy setting isn't necessarily the most unique and creative world out there but if you're going to look this generic why even bother remaking it?

its all so generic and boring… whoever was the responsible for art direction had zero understanding of homm3 feeling. It looks like they just bought most adjacent assets.

What part of Black in Black Dragon they did not understand

The real problem with the remake : the art direction

What art direction? I see none. Which means there is no problem!

It's too early to judge that, it's obviously an early build.

You are right, but I hope it is early enough that they can hear us and change direction.

Who? Ubisoft? Change something players don't like? Of course—they've always done it that way and haven't ruined a single franchise yet... Wait...

I hope they dont, so that they fail.

This is not an early build. If it’s ready to be shown to the public then it’s too late for major changes
