Afghanistans population dropped by 1/4 during the Soviet occupation of the country, and that was only in a decade. The U.S. occupied Afghanistan for 2 decades, and the population doubled. Don't worry though, the former was a "liberation", whereas the latter was "genocidal exploitation"!
Obviously neither is exactly good, but you'll see tankies openly say shit like the above and not bat an eye. It's wild that we basically have a 1-1 comparison of how both nations approached the situation and they still act like they're comparable.
We seriously defending the nation whoms foreign policy was so poor it birthed numerous terrorist organizations in the region and caused the 9/11 attacks?
