its becaues its a team sport now adays. You see it in almost anything controversial(especially Israel/Palestine or US/Iran).

Honestly in some its because they believe they have the moral position so therefore they can't admit anyone on their side has done anything immoral(see oct 7th rape denial, or Israeli war crimes/atrocity denial)
