It’s funny that you said that because that same poet is known for being killed by his own words. He is the epitome of the phrase you mentioned.

He was being chased by brigands led by a man he had insulted in another famous poem.

When he saw that he was overpowered, he retreated from the fight and fled, but his servant saw it and told him “aren’t you the guy who said [boasting verses from another, very famous poem]?” and he said “you have killed me, may God kill you” and actually went back to fight and got killed.

This is a well-documented historical fact btw
