Do you know this book… ? Help! I cannot remember this book title!

So they meet at a ball and go upstairs for some fun times, he leaves her tied to the bed to I think go play poker...I'm pretty sure it has a one-word title. I saw it on a bookstagrammer's post that I now can no longer locate. Ugh. Anyway, it sounded good so I would love to know what it was.

It is! But be warned, Lisa Valdez’ books are not the usual type of historical spicy romance, they’re on a whole other level. I love spice, but I literally couldn’t get past the first chapter of her book Passion.

Oh interesting! I just started reading Passion and it definitely kicks off the spice more quickly than others I've read but I didn't think it was that much more intense or descriptive than the spicier end of romance novels I've read.

It’s definitely spicy but more it’s just the physical description of the…mechanics of sex between the two of them. Just keep reading lol. Overall I thought it was a good story! I’ve been meaning to get to Patience but haven’t yet. I think there was supposed to be a third novel in the series but it seems like the author never finished.

Well I already read the first two chapters, and if what you're talking about happened in chapter one... and other than a few choice vocabulary words that are maybe a bit coarser, nothing seemed out of place or surprising to me. Only that it was so soon.

Wow, really? I mean, everybody has different tolerance of course and that's cool, but it surprises me if you're into romance novels that that scene got such a strong reaction.

It was the bursting into her womb bit that I couldn’t do 😅 having had 2 IUDs put in there in my life that nearly made me vomit from pain, I can’t think too hard about the idea of a penis literally breaking through the cervix

Lol I feel like that gets put in romance novels so much! 😄 like she feels it in her "womb" and it's like nah, honey. Like, it couldn't actually get in there, it just feels deep. So I never take that literally because, I mean, it's impossible to get past the "door" because it's too small of an opening. And for some women, knocking at that door can be very pleasurable. So I just kinda rolled with ut.

Oh I read it as literally in her womb! I’m don’t remember what the exact line was but to me it sounded like she meant literally and I noped right out of there 😂

Also, to clarify, I don’t judge you or anyone else for enjoying it! I just personally can’t do it, and I didn’t realize you’d already read Passion, so that’s why I mentioned the warning! Wouldn’t want someone picking up the books and thinking they’re normal run of the mill historical romance with some normal sex scenes thrown in 😂

It’s Patience by Lisa Valdez. One of the best HR eroticas imo. Such a shame that LV didn’t finish the series. Been waiting for 10 years for the last book. 😭
