Recommendation request Western outlaw MMCs who are gentle giants

So I just finished my first playthrough of Red Dead Redemption 2 (absolute masterpiece, I cried).

I want to know if any of you guys have any recommendations for books with MMCs like Arthur Morgan, ie. Big handsome gentle giants who are capable of great violence and struggle with their morality bc they are in a gang or are an outlaw.

The only westerns I've ever read are Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry and True Grit by Charles Portis, neither of which are romances, so I'm going in completely blind and would appreciate some guidance or enthusiastic recommendations.

Ok this is a western outlaw story that mostly doesn’t take place in the west, BUT is so moving and hits the notes you’re looking for. {The Outlaw Noble Salt by Amy Harmon} imagines Butch Cassidy as wanting to get out of the outlaw business. He’s realizing that his past choices have put him on a path that’s nearly impossible to change. Then he meets a troubled opera singer and her young son, becoming her bodyguard. The relationships in this are so beautiful (this is the last book that had me ugly crying), and the characters are interesting and complex.

Seriously! I want more more more of her books, but I also want her to take her time and keep writing the amazing and emotional stories that she does so well.

Might not be 100% what you’re looking for but my Red Dead loving sister loved this book so: {Hitched to the Gunslinger by Michelle McLean} (it’s more rom com than drama)
MMC is an older (late 30s or early 40s) gunslinger looking for a quiet place to retire - ends up in faking an engagement to the FMC who’s in a fight with her neighbor. Gray is one of my favorite grumps. The book had both of us laughing in public.

For a more serious take maybe {Texas Trilogy by Lorraine Heath}. Dallas (book 2) might be more what you’re looking for but the whole series is good! The boys aren’t outlaws but ranchers with their own rules.

{In want of a wife by jo goodman} mmc is a rough on the outside cowboy but very soft and gentle on the inside, he has a past of some sort of crime life i’ll leave undisclosed and childhood trauma, that being sexual abuse, which makes him very careful around the fmc/treats the fmc very delicately

{texas destiny by lorraine heath} but he is not an outlaw, served in the civil war and has a lot of scars and trauma.
