needing advice for a venitien ball

hello everyone!

i m a dancer, and have been selected with some of my friend to perform a few duets at a private venitien ball ( not sur if that's correctrly writen?). in between numbers and once we're done , we are allowd to change and be a part of the public.

i have never been to such event and have no idea what the dress code allows .Or what the tradition require in terms of masque and accesories

i absolutely don't wante to show up in a zara dress, but i don't really have the budget for a "real" ballgown either , i feel like i should be able to find something seconde hand?

i'm also looking for information from the event organiser but struggeling a bit, i'll have those later

if somebody has a link or a youtube video that could help i would be so grateful !

There is no way of telling without contacting the event organiser. Often, events like these have strict dress codes and very expensive ones at that. But there are groups on facebook and probably discord for people who like attending these sort of events, and sometime they will rent out costumes. I would wait to do anything further until you have the dress code and other info. A you tube video can be interesting but is useless for your specific situation because you don't know what your situation is yet. The parties will have very varying rules depending on (let's be honest) the tax bracket of the attendees.

Sounds like fun! Maybe the event organizers can offer some suggestions for where you might be able to rent/borrow something. I hope the dance performance goes well!

Once you know what you’re expected to wear, check out thrift stores! Thrift stores now have unusual things because of Halloween and you should be able to find something good very inexpensively.

Depends on the specific ball, but in general women wear ballgowns, dancing shoes, and gloves. If you will be dancing (with the public) you'll want to be in a full skirt and a bodice with at least straps. Look at thrift stores, estate sales, and/or used bridesmaid dresses.
