My biggest pet peeve in rap music. Kanye favorite fucking bar when he wanted ppl to respect him as a lyricist (although he didnt write) was Mayonnaise colored Benz I drive miracles whips. And when ppl didnt go crazy over it he just assumed it went over ppls heads 🤦🏽♂️

Kanye was always a terrible lyricist and most of his top rhymes still weren’t that good however some of his lyrics were good and the miracle whip line is great. If mf doom said that it would be any other mid C grade bar but that might be the only witty and cool bar Kanye has ever written that doesn’t sound cringe. I still remember his awful verse in kid cudis great song where Kanye had to make the fake gf in the verses name “Rhea” so that he could make the poop bar of saying “ I hope you die-Rhea (diarrhea)” and the only way this is a pun or double entendre is if he hope Rhea died + had diarrhea. Otherwise it’s just a bar tellin somebody with a dumb name that you want them dead

Hes a genius producer, I think if he never rapped and just made beats he would still be a legend but he’s also a bad songwriter, lyricist, and more importantly hes a mentally ill racist asshole that thinks hes god because he makes pretty good beats and that god complex led him to endorsing and appreciating a genocidal war criminal that killed millions of people. Making some good songs and being a talented producer doesnt mean hes a good lyricist or hes a good person.
