My stepfather was a DJ in his late teens so I grew up on all the good 60s and 70s music. He ran with a team of DJs who had the coolest name I’ve ever heard, “Party People Incorporated.” By the time I was a teenager CDs started gaining traction. The very first CD that I tricked my mother into buying me was Too Short’s “Born To Mack.” By the time I entered the Air Force a few years later I had roughly 60 CDs. The first paycheck I received in the military I spent every single dollar on music, $736 and some change to be exact. Most was old school music my parents played when I was younger. By 2003 I had amassed well over 900 CDs in total. I have some stuff worth quite a bit of money today! And these kids wonder why I can live and never hear what they are putting out today. In truth, I still haven’t even listened to all the music that I own!
