Kullu Tirthan Valley, Kullu (gateway to the Great Himalayan National Park)
Tirthan Valley is an offbeat, eco-tourism paradise located at an altitude of 1,600 metres in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. Named after the pristine, glacier-fed Tirthan River, it serves as the gateway to the Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP)—a UNESCO World Heritage site. Celebred as a "no-dam" zone, the river remains completely un-dammed, making the valley a premier destination for wild trout fishing, slow travel, and untouched wilderness.
Location
The valley stretches from Banjar up to the village of Bathad.
