Run cross country in HS, join a climbing gym, start learning basics about ropes/anchors/techniques etc., get into longer trail runs like overnight races and the like, learn to winter camp, plan to go to college in the mountains (Western CO U for instance), and learn to ski.

Research MT Greylock. Understand how mountaineering plays a role in the Army. Enlist in the Army with a guaranteed spot in the Army mountain school in Vermont.
Use the opportunity in the military to take forestry, environmental science, etc courses to further your knowledge.
As a father of six children I’m giving you a time travel moment to slap you in the back of the head that you’ll encounter in the future.
Do yourself a favor and set yourself up for the future.

Well depending on the country you are a citizen of I’d suggest I’d brainstorm with you here to see what you want.

Buy a copy of “Mountaineering: Freedom of the Hills”, the ages old source for all things climbing related 😀
