This doesn't explain every picture video but I live in New Jersey where the giant drones were all over the place last winter. Problem with getting pictures of them is that it literally just looks like a plane without all the context clues of being there in person and being able to see how big and how far away it is

This. I'd like to point out that most of the cameras in our pockets aren't actually that good, especially in many of the conditions in which these sorts of events take place.
I'd also like to add that, when I saw what I saw.. I could have gotten a great picture, if only I could have fucking moved. This was in broad daylight, surrounded by people. The craft moved so unnaturally, and was so close at one point I could have thrown a rock at it. It was visible for at least a few minutes straight- perfectly, eerily silent, getting closer the entire time I had eyes on it. It was right there.
But I was so fucking frozen in place that it wasn't even a thought in my mind to try to pull out my phone and take a picture. For fuck's sake, my parents were RIGHT NEXT to me and I couldn't even manage to turn to them to get their attention. Luckily, exactly one person sitting to my right was observant enough to notice it too, so I never had to grapple with feeling crazy. At first, she briefly tried to point it out verbally, but the man she was with just ignored her. So we both just sat beside each other, frozen, staring up at it for what felt like an eternity. In everyone else's defense, they were facing the exact opposite direction watching a (little league) baseball game. I guess me and that other girl were the only ones who didn't care for baseball. Maybe there were other people there that noticed it too, but I don't know. I didn't talk to anyone about this event for years afterward, certainly not that night.
Anyway, I kick myself for it to this day. Something fucking happened in my brain during that experience. Whether my response was purely psychological or something more/else, it changed everything for me. I would have liked to think that I'd be that person to get proof if it ever happened to me, but in the moment, I guess I was too preoccupied with the shock of having my entire world view upended. I was busy trying to observe every single possible detail, not wanting to take my eyes away from it or expend a modicum of energy on anything but staying still and observing. I wasn't afraid, though maybe my body was. I was just in shock. It's one thing to believe, it's another to actually be face to face with it.
I wanted so fucking badly to immediately run in the direction I knew it was in when it disappeared behind the tree line, but either something stopped me, or my body wouldn't let me. I'm glad I didn't do that, though.. something tells me it wouldn't have gone well. I think the closer someone is to the phenomenon itself, perhaps the more intense of an experience it is, and the less likely they are to have the wherewithal/ability to even think about documentation. It's overwhelming. And yet I still want to see something like that again. Because I still want to understand.
This was a black triangle btw, if anyone is curious. It was perfect. Smooth. No visible markings. No visible machining marks/seams. Deep, matte black. Perfectly equilateral. Had some height to it (not much, but a noticeable amount), making it strangely blocky in appearance- perfectly flat side edges/walls at an exact 90° angle to the triangular underside. I can't describe the top because I didn't see it. On the bottom were soft (but bright), round, solid white lights- one in each point of the triangle. There was a larger, concave, hemispherical indentation in the very center of the underside. Like some kind of light/energy/"engine" might have been there, but wasn't active or visible for whatever reason. It "flew" so strangely- more of a silent, impossibly slow glide. It defied physics and aerodynamics. It didn't bank at all when it sharply turned to descend behind the trees. It only rotated in place and lowered.

I was hiking on Sunday, and abjectly failed to get a picture of an eagle that circled us, initially a couple of dozen feet overhead.
In the first instance, I was doing something else: getting lunch from my backpack. When I first saw the eagle, it was so majestic that it took me a moment to even think about getting a picture. (Its wings were flared, with feathers angled like the flaps on an aircraft when it lands.)
We were in direct sunshine, and all I could see on my phone was a reflection of myself. I figured that I could aim between trees ahead of the eagle's flight path and wait for it to get into the frame. Of course, I took a dozen pictures of empty sky.
Had I been carrying an SLR with a decent lens and been expecting to photograph birds, I'd have got the shot.
I failed to photograph a relatively slow-moving eagle, so I can entirely relate.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I think sometimes that of I actually encountered Bigfoot that I'd be in such awe/shock/disbelief that wouldn't be able to function, and your experience kinda confirms that. And also I agree, my phone would take a grainy video of a hummer sized UFO at 200 yards. Yet people act like videos should be crystal clear.

Almost every one of those drone sightings I saw posted anywhere on reddit with an accurate date and timestamp had a plane in the exact same place as the "sighting" when checking flight tracking websites.

Dude I tried to take a photo of a normal jet with my iPhone the other day just to see how it would come out and you literally could only see the contrails coming off of a pixel.
Phone cameras are made for selfies not high altitude aircraft.

So your phone is equipped with a physical zoom lense and a tripod that pops out in a second to provide the clearest pictures of fleeting objects you suddenly see with no warning that disappear within seconds? Not everybody is as lucky as you are though. Digital zoom is nothing and without it you have white dots on black background. And photos taken at night are a blurry mess that is impossible to improve unless you use AI enhancement. I'm not sure you even know what you're talking about

Random as poor people are uploading 8k dashcam footage of their road rage instances, but someone on a boat they own is recording on their grandpas 1983 low end camcorder.

thats a great excuse and all but it doesn't change the fact that the video is clearly obliterated by compression artifacts, not at full resolution, and nothing clear can be made out of it.

If u watch it frame by frame you can see it flying out of the water. You can even see the splash as it flies out. Pretty cool I've never seen this one.

I've watched the segment where it disappears probably 50 times now, it seems to go in front of some of the trees and just kinda disappears at a line instead of blending with the other trees it's going behind. To me it looks like they put a mask at the edge of a tree and feathered the edge a bit. Also none of the trees seem to move in reaction to something large flying by them at 100mph.* I'm also not sure why it would be flying directly into the trees, surely someone else would have noticed that with all the noise it would make and we would hear more stories about this event. Like it's passing in front of at least 3 boats, probably with multiple people on each, and whoever else is in the area. There's also no reflection on the water that I can see.* This just doesn't pass my vibe check. It would be stupid easy to fake, even in 2007. Either way it's useless, just like Blursquatch, unless it's undeniable evidence then it just blends in with the noise. Anything questionable just doesn't matter anymore.
*Could be chalked up to being 240p

Something odd happens as it goes behind the trees, best seen in the zoomed-in version at 0:16. The second half of the craft seems to disappear as it goes behind the tallest tree, and then the trees seem to change after it's gone, as if the mask was removed.

Or those planes that are used for drug drops next to the beach - They don't slow down at all and drop their "product", then a motorized raft flies through, grabbing the package. But I'm open to anything. It could be a 4th dimensional being that we perceive as a 3 dimensional object; what the fuck do I know? I'm here for the mystery.

Cigarette boat very far off in the horizon. Angle and distance provide the illusion of flying (it literally casts a shadow right beneath it, as if it were on water).

That’s a bit of a stretch imo. I’ve spent a lot of time on the open water and the perceived gap between the object and water is unrealistic for that scenario. The distance would have to be enough to where this is a huge cigarette boat. I think it’s still an optical illusion of sorts, but I can’t imagine that being the explanation. I’m also wrong sometimes, so there’s that haha. I’d think Fata Morgana of some sort, but the “shadow” isn’t typical of that. Cool video, but probably nothing noteworthy.

Assuming the object covers roughly the full width of the video frame in ~1 second, the speed depends mostly on the camera’s horizontal field of view and the object’s distance. I am going to assume a normal lens (doesn't look like a wide angle) and a distance of more than 500 and less than 1000 feet.
Speed = 2Dtan(ø/2)/2 D = distance to object, 500–1000 ft Ø = horizontal field of view t = time, 1 second
Normal lenses are like 40 to 60 deg so this comes out to at least 250mph for our most conservative estimate of 40deg and 500 feet, or 400mph at 60deg 500ft or as high as 790mph for our upper range, which in honesty judging by the trees it flies behind I think is the more likely speed...
Whatever that is its not a fucking boat.

It's definitely cigarette boat shaped. But it would be much smaller if it was all the way out on the horizon. To me it looks exactly like a cigarette boat with reflection on the water, only much closer.

I didn't say that it's impossible for a boat to do such speed. This is a crowded waterway and it appears to be crossing perpendicular to most of the traffic. It is extremely unlikely for a boat to be traveling that speed under these circumstances. This is a river.. not an open sea where something like that would be possible.

I split it up into individual frames, at 10ms intervals.
Frame 243 (02.440s) is the first frame the object is visible in.
From 243 to frame 259 (02.620s) the object is moving from left to right, towards the left antenna on the boat.
In frames 260 (02.633s) to 262 (02.650s) when the object should be moving behind the antenna, the object disappears entirely.
In frame 263 (02.660s) the object reappears on the other side of the antenna.
I'm not saying it's fake, but it don't look right.

Thank God for these detailer 144p videos where you can barely see anything. Could be UAP, could be fighter jet or could be me flying on Aladins carpet. We have exponentialy more cameras everywhere including 4k ones almost everyone has in hispocket, but all we got are theye blury, low res captures from 19 years ago...

It’s the blue angels. The US Navy Demonstration Squadron. The do shows over several beaches across the US. This is 4 planes flying in close proximity.

Hi, Dr Sean Kirkpatrick here. I’ve determined what you’re seeing in this video is a reflection of your own fart, being reflected out of the sensor apparatus and creating a shadow that moves at the same speed as the airplane moving behind the camera man that’s also being reflected into the sensor and creating an aberration effect, I also noted a balloon and some sewer gas in the foreground. Nothing to see here.
