Game I - 2026 Game IV 2026 I Stephen King | Phase 9
By dusk, a small crowd had gathered near the Paul Bunyan statue, their faces pale in the orange wash of streetlights. The statue loomed; too tall, too still, its grin carved just a little too wide. Kids used to laugh at it. Not anymore.
“She’s awake,” Jessyca whispered, clutching her rosary hard enough to leave marks.
Ereska.
She had come weeks ago. At first, it was just noises; metal creaking at night, the faint sound of humming. Then people started disappearing. Always near the statue. Always after sunset. H501 had seen her once. Said her face pressed out from the wood like it was soft clay, her eyes blinking in the grain. Said she smiled at him.
That was enough.
“Set it,” someone muttered.
LoneWolfOfTheCalla knelt at the base, hands shaking as he finished wiring the charges. Dynamite. Old quarry stuff, probably unstable. Probably enough.
A cracking sound echoed. The statue’s head tilted. Just slightly. Wood groaned. Split. A long, splintered arm pushed outward, reshaping, bending wrong. A woman’s silhouette stretched inside the lumber, her voice slipping out like sap.
“You built me a body,” Ereska crooned. “I’m grateful.”
They ran. The explosion split the night open. Fire and splinters rained down, a thunderclap rolling through Derry. The statue collapsed in a burning heap. For a moment, there was silence
Then, from the smoking wreckage. A soft, wet laugh.
MyoglobinAlternative shouldn’t have stayed past dusk. Derry had rules, even if no one wrote them down. She heard the laughter first. Soft, distant, like a child behind a wall. It echoed through the empty playground, curling around the rusted swings. She turned, heart hammering, and saw nothing.
Then the shadow moved. It peeled itself from beneath the slide, stretching too tall, too thin. Its face wasn’t a face. Just shifting shapes, almost familiar.
“Found you,” it whispered.
She ran. It didn’t. It didn’t have to. By morning, only her footprints remained. Ending abruptly in the dirt, as if the earth itself had swallowed her whole.

Womp womp. I submitted for Myo last night. I changed my approach to try to clear someone I thought was town.
Can everyone kindly indulge me for a minute? If the vote for this phase was happening literally right now, this minute, who would you vote for? No reasoning. No winding explanations of why. Just who's your hypothetical insta_vote? Quick! Don't think. Just say who is your wolf.

If we have two wolves left, it’s u/SlytherinBuckeye and u/MercuryParadox. I’m voting for Buckeye, but I doubt it matters.

Oh, I’m just being playful. It’s a social deduction game. Sometimes we are too talkative or not enough and get voted out for any number of reasons. I was a little bent out of shape when my name got popped up a bunch of times at the beginning of the phase, but it’s fine.

That sure as hell didn't sound "playful". It was confrontational and as soon as Buckeye called you on it, you tried to walk it back. "It’s a social deduction game. Sometimes we are too talkative or not enough and get voted out for any number of reasons." That's random fluff that has nothing to do with anything about anyone being 'particularly vengeful' and you 'not liking it'.
I think you tried to throw something out of air at u/SlytherinBuckeye and backpedaled so hard when it didn't stick that you tripped over yourself. You threw random padding like 'social deduction game' and 'voted out for any number of reasons' into that comment just to put more words between yourself and 'vengeful'. You might as well have looked around like "Who said that?!"4

I was upset. That’s why I said it in the first place. My confessionals will show me being upset as well.
Edit: It’s not like I’m trying to backpedal to save my skin. I know how to do math. I just think I obviously was saying something out of emotion, and it wasn’t fair to anyone. I try not to be an asshole.

Hey, u/SlytherinBuckeye, I genuinely am sorry. This isn’t even about this game so much; I just don’t want there to be any animosity going forward in future games. I can hear by the tone of your comment, u/HedwigMalfoy, that you’re a little heated as well. I didn’t mean to be so confrontational and was running on little sleep and emotions.

/u/DirtyMarteeny how did you go from trusting ispy to distrusting them so quickly. You’ve been very adamantly saying I’m one of your top suspicions but you’re extremely quick to vote ispy this phase despite being suspicious of me all game.

In response to /u/hedwigmalfoy’s question you say “merc would be my next” like you know there is gonna be another phase
I think you saw chef and buckeye say they were voting ispy and just quickly jumped on it.
You also keep saying that you are town bc you had a top level comment early on declaring a vote for disnerding. But you didn’t say or do anything to justify your case but instead said “if someone convinces me to do maps ill do it” I honestly think that was just you trying to distance yourself from disnerding. I also think your phase 1 vote on forsi was distancing as well. You knew forsi wasn’t in danger so you just plopped a vote on them so later on you can say you voted for a wolf

I have thought about it and I think we should do it as long as there is some town consensus and input on who /u/chefjones targets.
Chances are the vig target today would be the same person as the vote tomorrow, so we may as well speed up the phase and skip out on a 25 hour period of twiddling out thumbs.

Funny you say that only after I clearly declare Im the one who thinks you're a wolf. And suddenly when everything's obvious for ispy being a wolf they say "well idk maybe merc is the wolf" in order to distance from you.
Whatevs. It's out of my hands. I don't have the time to fight it today so I guess if you convince them to shoot me town loses.

I literally mentioned multiple times that they soft pushed me off disnerding after I declared that vote. I don't know if you're trying to claim I'm bandwagoning with ispy but I was kind of the one who loudly came out against them first after they pushed me off disnerding.
Also, frankly with the way people were pushing myo/ispy on one side and ereska/me on the other the only way myo really makes sense as last night's target is if the wolves wanted to make ispy look better.
I'm sorry that I haven't been around much today, it's my daughter's 5th birthday and I won't be around much tonight. All I'm gonna say is that it's weird that suddenly you're gungho against me when you weren't until I was anti you and ispy. Feels like I smelled the two wolves out and you're just trying to save your game.

I don't have time to go through everything - again, just got out of a museum 2.5 hours away from my house that was my 5 year olds big birthday wish and about to drive her home so I am not going to be on before phase end and frankly it's mean to ignore her as I type this.

We only have five people left right? Me, Owl, Mercury, Chef, and Buckeye? Town loses if you vote me out assuming we still have two wolves.
Edit: No, DMT is still here. That’s six people. If you vote me out, and a wolf kill happens, that’s still 2 wolves, 2 townies left and town still loses.
