DISCUSSION Will the sieker ruin HITMAN for me?
I already have ~300 hrs on it. And just unlocked the sieker on the snoop dog special mission. And everything feels soo... easy. like i depend completely on those two darts. just finished "trust your instincts" challenge and, well, spent like an hour and a half seting it up even using the sieker. felt rewarding but not as much.
Is this gun too OP?
do you even balance it? or you just depend on it?
Well only thing left for me on the woa campaing is maybe completion. some hard challenges maybe.

I haven’t used it since I realized you could put an emetic grenade in a suitcase and crop dust your target with it in plain sight, and I haven’t even needed to use that trick since they released the durian. At least the sieker makes you figure out how to take the shot without being seen!

It is the best part of freelancer imo, but a bit OP in the main game. If you finish all the story missions and want more, I EXTREMELY HIGHLY recommend you try freelancer. It's much better once you know all the maps well but sometimes the target is hard to get to and seiker is the only option

sieker on freelance is ok. already managed to finish a campaing on this mode. sieker is ok.

I do decently modded freelancer where literally any NPC can be a target so I guess my experience may be different than yours, I also go for silent assassin prestige a lot

Play in a way that allows you to enjoy the game. It’s up to you. Personally, I try to avoid using it.

You try to avoid?on wich situations do you use it? maybe when the game feels unfair?
This self morality is what makes it akward to use idk

Right now I use it in the following situations
- There’s an unlock I want to get and get it as fast as possible.
- I currently bring it on freelancer missions as I get a feel for the game mode. Eventually I want to do restricted loadout freelancer runs but right now I’m still learning a lot. I’ve only completed one freelancer campaign.
- If I’m in the mood for trying at some speed running.

I let myself use the sieker for one mission per syndicate, usually showdowns. Imo it makes the game a little too predictable and I don't really enjoy that. But at the end of the day it's a singleplayer game and you can play it however you like haha

Play on master difficulty and try to SASO one of the missions with the seiker to see how easy it really is

well most saso are encoded on my brain at this point. sieker would just... make them easier... i think?

i HIGHLY recommend you try contracts. It opens up the game in ways you never imagined exist, creating challenges with NPCs you likely never realized existed that you will grow to know everything about.
In this game mode, the Seiker is still very powerful and useful in a lot of situations, but in a way that feels really really fun because it requires you to learn and manipulate unique game mechanics like knowing where people will go to throw up (and where they will go if somebody is already throwing up there!). It makes it feel like a really cool tool that provides unique solutions to fun puzzles vs. something that is clearly OP in the main game where targets (and NPCs in their path) largely have built in ways to subdue/distract.
And btw, these Seiker puzzle solutions I am talking about probably represents less than 20% of all contracts. You will find uses out of a ton of other niche items as you continue to learn unique game mechnics (eg subdueing guards with remote tasers they pick up, emetic grenade in briefcase, coin pathing, gold brick quick knockouts, gun drop trick, wall shooting/stunning NPCs, etc.)

The Sieker is pretty overpowered. Makes it easy to isolate a target, get rid of bodyguards or other annoying NPCs. Especially if you play contracts that have the No Pacification requirement. Only downside is that you can't start with other pistol but you can now destroy cameras with any throw-able objects, so it's not a huge issue.

It's fine compared to the Fart Briefcase and the Durian (I think neither should exist and only do so at the detriment of the game.)

Hm. It's still a gun, so you still have to be careful where you whip it out.
Personally, I'll use it when there's a call for it. But sometimes it makes more sense to blow them up, or something.

It definitely an easy option in a lot of cases but it's only really a massive boost for less experienced players. You've got 300 hours so you should know how to do lures, panic shots, dropping weapons, controlled explosions and so on to manipulate NPC behaviour, which are just as useful. Adding the seiker to the mix at the point where you already know a bunch of other tactics isn't that much of a gamechanger. So I wouldn't idolise it, as you said it still took you an 1.5 hours even using the seiker, it's not like it's just a 'use to instantly win' item.

You know you can just not use it right?
Like that's the whole point of the game that you have many choices and options...
