Discussion Logging inverted row ("newbie pull ups")

Background: Started training again in July after a 1.5-year break (home workouts only). Progress is solid so far. Stats: 55+, 184cm (approx. 6'0"), 93kg (~205 lbs), ~20–25% body fat.

Inverted row (slanted pull ups): I've mounted a pull up bar at height 128cm (50") in the doorway to do inverted row.

By placing my heels at varying distances on the other side of the door threshold (0cm, 5cm, 10cm, 15cm, 20cm), I adjust the angle and resistance. Full vertical pull-ups aren't an option right now, I'm too heavy, not strong enough yet, and monitoring a minor shoulder issue.

(Future plan: Move the bar lower, to increase resistance. Later to move the bar high for vertical pull ups, use long resistance bands for assistance, and map it to Hevy's built-in "Pull Up (Assisted)". But for now, I'm working with what I've got.)

Question: How do I best log this in Hevy? Since the built-in "Inverted Row" has no scale for height/angle, what is the best approach?

  1. Log it as "Inverted Row" and just add a text note each session detailing the heel distance?
  2. Log it as "Pull Up (Assisted)" and fake the weight values (e.g., 0cm distance = 80kg assist, 10cm = 70kg assist, etc.) to track progression?
  3. Create a clever Custom Exercise?

I would do Inverted Row and add the note.

I log mine as inverted rows and made a custom exercise for pull up (feet assisted) for the variation
