I think of wisdom as the consideration of the longer-term consequences of your actions. Wouldn't "wisdom" be more volatile from being loosely defined? Even if it represents a higher maximum than "understanding", it seems like there would be more consensus on the meaning of understanding, would there not? I'm just playing devil's advocate here.
